@ bedussey There's one Wawa where I live for most of the year, and even on the outside it looks fancy as hell! I live for convenience stores that have everything in them. Honestly I even get excited when a gas station has the blue-flavored (I don't know the "technical" term, heh) slushees. And yeah, the further south you go in Florida, the less south it seems - north Florida is just hicktown after hicktown and that's where I'm from unfortunately.
@ hannahdollx Exactly! You don't really think it'd be that different, but it's so strange. o_O
DUDE LET ME TELL YOU ABOUT FANCY CONVENIENT STORES. if you ever go to the Philly/south Jersey area you NEED to stop by a Wawa. they are the best convenience store ever. they make the best sandwiches and you order them through a touchscreen computer. you don't even have to interact with any humans to get a sandwich, smoothie, breakfast burrito, whatever made for you. it's amazing. they also have cool milkshake makers and different flavors of hot chocolate...it's absurd. I want to live at Wawa.
ANYWAY
I experience the same thing only the opposite from you (as in, I live in the NY metropolitan area and I get culture shock whenever I go to Florida lol) I haven't been to Florida in a couple years though but I remember the last time I was there I was surprised by how many people have southern accents. like it doesn't really feel like a southern state but I guess it is technically?
