I saw that article about "things basic girls do during the Holidays." I found that article bigoted but a lot of other articles on that site are usually questionable too. It's sad really. I definitely feel you.

This should also go for girls that are skinny. Skinny shaming is a thing too and I've had it all the time. I don't really gain weight and when people see I can only fit into size XS or size S shirts they make jokes like "Are you anorexic?" or "You're skinny! Stop acting like it's the same thing as being bigger!". I think all body types are beautiful and not one is better than another.

I can't remember where it was, but I was reading an article where these girls tried on the same tops that were marketed as "one size fits all" to show that, uhh, actually, that's not in any way true. They might fit in the sense that yes, you can get it over your head or zip it up, but it doesn't look like it does on the model. I love it when sites have models that are different shapes, heights and sizes, modeling the shirts, and not the same girl/s for every shirt. Like, that isn't helpful at all.

I think men also get body shamed quite a bit. I mean, society says they have to look like super heroes, but if they go to the gym so often to actually achieve that, then ohh, they must be block heads. It's hard for everyone.

I think it makes it harder when our own gender turns on itself. You get women telling other women that they're fat, or too thin, or disgusting in some way. Women will judge other women on the size of their breasts, on the length of their skirts, on how long ago they shaved their legs, etc. and it's disgusting. You'll hear other women saying things like, "If I were her size I'd not be caught dead in that" and until those sorts of things are fixed, we can't lump it all on men. They're doing the same things we do to ourselves.
