Yes, as for me I'm not a picky reader per se but I'd drive away if the chapters are 50ish except if the story really kills it on the summary and drags me into it. As for this problem, I am wanting the star rating back to this site because if the story has like 30ish-50ish chapter and has 10 stars on it I'll still read, the lesser chapter the higher star means the story kicks it there.

I'll be disappointed if I try to read 50ish chapter but the first 10 chapters are filler or worse have story peeves on it. Hmm I'm not a Mibba famous with legendary stories here but I'll suggest if you want to make long chapters with long story, make it worth, put climax on every chapters. Fillers are boring and disappointing. Hahaha great sharing btw.

Yeah I would not know about that, the Dutch education system is worlds apart from the American...

It might be the time of year, actually. Since I'm a sophomore, I have to take the Ohio Graduation Test here soon, so my school is going nuts about it. It's worse than finals.

I hope it doesn't either! But I'm sure it will be fine. You like me to check it out?

I did whore it out a lot, maybe I am a bit addicted to feedback or comments. I hope it is just that my readers pool is drying up and it has nothing to do with my writing.

I love long stories, but it really does depend. If I start reading a story and it's got loads of chapters but seems to be going around in circles then even if it's what I'd usually read, I'd not be willing to read 50+ chapters of it. But if it's something I'm searching for and happens to be lengthy I'll not pass it up based solely on that. I often marathon stories overnight in bed and leave half-asleep comments on things lol

Maybe the reason Underestimate Me appears to be getting less readers/comments lately is because, and correct me if I'm wrong, you've entered it in for a lot of comment swaps and such. I remember seeing it floating around in the Christmas gifting blogs too. Not a bad thing. Gotta do what you can to get comments. But once someone has read and commented only what they need to for a swap or a gift, they're not going to continue reading if it's not really what they'd usually read.

I find also too that sometimes you'll just reach the limit for the audience of that story and the reads will only go up when new people join the fandom/are beginning to search for that genre.

Personally, word count doesn't have any affect on me in general, but if I'm looking for a quick read it might. I mean, I tackled Bram Stoker's Dracula just fine, and it has 400 pages and very, very small font.

But I also tend to write longer stories, so I hope this isn't true. I mean, the only story I have on here is a short story with over 6,000 words. I hope that doesn't drive readers away.

thank you so much, I really appreciate it. I do understand the resistance but you can always just read the start and if you like it read on.

    @ Underdog Hina
I will certainly go on, I have the best cowriters so I don't worry about that, the comments and new readers are just Such a boost

I think you're right because when i was working stories with more than ten chapters, i found that hardly anyone reads and comments past the first ten-twelve chapters, which sucks majorly, but there's nothing you can do about it except keep on going. c:

I am one who will do that. Sometimes the word count will intimidate me. Don't get me wrong, sometimes I'll read anyway but usually I am hesitant.
