Silver Linings and Wolf of Wallstreet are definitely must sees. It took me a while to watch Wolf, but it's so worth it even if it's long.
As for recs, watch American Beauty if you haven't already. That's my number one movie to recommend. It's Kevin Spacey and he's so good in it. Kinda weird subject matter for some people, but you're a writer so I doubt it'll bother you. It's really just a well- written, beautiful film.
Agreed with below on Silver Linings Playbook. So good. As for Drive, I could barely watch it (saw it in theatres) because of all the violence; waste of time imo, sorry not sorry, Ryan.
American Hustle is amazing. Silver Linings Playbook again amazing. Silver Linings beats American Hustle but still both are very good. I'm going to suggest The Disappearance of Eleanor Rigby: Them because I just watched that and it was amazing. McAvoy is lovely.
silver linings playbook is such a good movie, saw it in cinemas and woah man I loved it jenn lawrence is gold (but I'm biased bc ily) and her with brad cooper is like spot on would recommend 100000/10 one of my faves
