I'm glad you agree that it's rude. Part of me is like, "Maybe I'm overreacting." But there's something about the way society views women and pregnancy that just...takes away all boundaries. Like, one thing I'm dreading about someday when I AM pregnant is the knowledge that strangers will come up to me and put their hands on my belly. Because pregnancy apparently is viewed as automatic consent to be touched. Even just the idea that because I'm married now it's just expected that I should be trying for kids soon and everyone thinks that's their business, that just gives me the heebie jeebies. Not cool.

That is incredibly rude, and it reminds me of how many other women (even my own mother) are asked that too---invasive questions about their uterus are so uncalled for, end of.

It also reminds me of this piece written for a women & gender studies class I had in the past (inspired by the Vagina Monologues) where the writer wrote about that phenomena. How people always feel the need to pry into women's lives and ask how their uterus/vagina is as if it's their business too. Neutral Newsflash, it isn't. They aren't your gyno. You have every right to be snarky if they persist.
