So I left a comment on To Serve and Protect, as well as posted a recommendation/review blog on Of Blood and Honour. With the package you chose, you get one more recommendation/review blog. Is there a particular story you would like for me to do?

With my dad being in the military, I have moved about 16 times. I have lived in places such as Oklahoma, Indiana, Minnesota, Kansas, Illinois, New York, California, and Pennsylvania, as well as in Germany.

lmfao Lol at your husband finding you amusing. Just saw that you recently got married, too, congrats!
Thanks for sharing your experiences with me, I really appreciate that. Good luck for the future, I'm sure it's a bright one! You've been on some cool adventures! Honestly, the very sound of moving frightens me, so I instantly thought of you as very brave when I read that you've moved states. I just had to use a map ahaha - woah, you practically moved to the other side of the US!

Thank you! When I was a senior in high school, I took four courses through Syracuse University at the same time. Afterwards, I moved to Los Angeles, California, where I attended a film school for two years. There, I majored in Film: Screenwriting and worked towards a Minor in Sociology so that I could understand different groups of people in hopes that it would help me to develop a variety of believable characters. I took a year off from school after then before finishing up at Southern New Hampshire University with the degrees that I mentioned in this blog. Honestly, if I could do it all over again, I would have majored in Sociology and done a minor in Creative Writing, because unfortunately, there are not many jobs in the real world that favor that degree.

While I attended school in LA, I lived in a dorm, Horton, where every other floor was a different gender. Each floor had a community bathroom with five toilet stalls and five showers. I thought it was weird at first, but eventually got comfortable. Going to the bathroom was kind of awkward, but showering was never a problem because each stall had three tiled walls and a double curtain for privacy. There were other dorms where they had one bathroom per two suites, so it was two doors to the bathroom. That didn't interest me because you would have to lock both doors and if two of you had to go at the same time, one of you was kind of out of luck. Also, you were responsible for cleaning those bathrooms and passing inspections, as opposed to the community dorms in Horton that had a cleaning crew. I was lazy, haha.

My love for writing developed strongly when I was 16. Between then and age 19, I wrote 5 completed novels. I took a break from writing novels to write films while in LA. I ended up writing dozens and even got to work on 42 short films. But I then realized that my true love was in novel writing, so I went back. I lost inspiration for several years, only recently picking back up my writing. My problem is that I have so many ideas that I want to start that I never remember to finish the others. What has helped me recently is getting an editor and a cover artist who keeps me accountable. Even having a friend who checks up on you every week to make sure you're still writing has been helpful. To fuel motivation, I listen to emotional and female vocal soundtracks on YouTube. The Epic Music Mix channel is my favorite. Sometimes I take the characters from the book and listen to the music, wondering in my mind what they could be doing. My husband laughs at me because sometimes I will be sitting by him on the couch having full on conversations with my characters. You almost have to approach your characters as though they are real people because without you they will die.

  • Just wanted to pop in to say that I think it's really kind and thoughtful of you to do this blog. Also, congrats on your graduation from uni! Creative writing, huh? That's always one possibility I considered taking, but since quite a few years ago I lost the same constant enthusiasm I once had for writing. It only now comes in short bursts, and then when I read what I wrote I sometimes wonder why I ever thought that was decent in the first place. lmfao
How did you tackle any moments where you lost motivation? Also, just out of curiosity, what are your plans now, after graduating?

I'll be starting uni this September and honestly I'm worried about the actual studying side to it because I do find it quite boring when things get too technical etc. I'm all for imagination! So maybe taking Zoology isn't the best course going for me, but I think it's the only one I'd qualify for and besides, I figured it's worth going to try a proper uni rather than always living with the regret of "what if", right?
This question may seem a bit random, but if you lived in halls/campus accommodation, did you share a bathroom or have your own en suite, and which do you think you would you have preferred?

Remember to also gift yourself every once in a while, because you deserve it!
