    I read an article once that said Ernest Hemingway wrote at around a fourth grade level. Even the most prolific writers can write with a simple style, so I don't think it's anything to worry too much about. It's always good to challenge yourself, though, so I wish you the best of luck.

    I did that for the first four chapters of my story and it told me it was at an 11-12 grade level. Honestly, I'm quite happy with it.

    Keep in mind that the writing level tools don't measure the depth of plot or the well-roundedness of characters; it measures only sentence structure and vocabulary. So a lower grade level doesn't necessarily mean your story isn't deep or well-written. But trying to improve is always good, and so is trying new things, so go for it. =)
