Thank you so much! Wow I'm glad to be able to spread knowledge about Hawaiian culture.

    @ fogbound.
Thank you! In Love I also find the cultures and histories of Māori and Natives in America to be really fascinating. Fun fact: The Hawaiian term for native people is kānaka maoli, which is derived from the Māori term.

Thanks again, and I agree! Thankfully, for the most part, Hawaiian Studies is a mandatory class. It both frustrates and saddens me to know that, outside of Hawaiʻi, people don't need to learn about its history and people, but in Hawaiʻi, we have to learn about the history of the US. (Maybe I'm just bitter. XD I do think it's important to learn at least a little about us though, considering our relationship with both Britain and US.)

  • This was beautifully written! I am so in love with Hawaiian native culture, just as I am in love with Maori culture of New Zealand and the Natives here in America, specifically the Lakota.
More people need to be educated about the native culture of the land that they live in. And, as Americans, need to respect it instead of take it away. This was a great read, thank you!
