My first one was an Avenged Sevenfold slash where Matt Shadows was a vampire and Zack was a human. It was a mix between my vampire days and my Avenged phase. It was really bad. Really really really bad. lmfao
Now it doesn't exist anywhere in this world.

That is exactly me lmfao My first story on Mibba (and only story I've ever completed Shifty) was one about a Nerd Girl and she was the prettiest girl but so shy and nerdy (classic), and her rival was a blonde cheerleader and nerd girl was into her boyfriend BASICALLY THE BIGGEST CLICHE. I'm so glad I deleted it from my files forever and from Mibba's existence lmfao

Thanks! All of this really helps actually and it's great to know I'm not alone. I get everything you're saying and it's all true.

The first things we always write are probably terrible. The bad thing is at the moment, you think it's good and now I want to go slap myself lmfao

    Hi!

Honestly, I know exactly how you feel, and in a way I know every other write does as well. Even now, I get so nervous putting my things on Mibba (which is why I have barely anything up) because I'm worried it's terrible and so on. I think the difference between a writer and a reader is that we are critical in different ways: a writer criticises their work because they know exactly what they want it to be like and it's not transitioning from head to paper the way they want, but a reader is reading from scratch.

Sometimes we don't see the problems until someone gives us a nudge in the right direction. I think this is because as a writer, we know what is going to happen, so in a way we might get ahead of ourselves and rush things. It's a thing that a lot of writers do (I know I've done this myself sometimes)! We all need to grow in our writing after all and I'd say keep the old version, because when you rewrite it you'll probably see the differences straight away.

And don't apologise for work you did back in the day! We all had to start somewhere Arms (I wrote probably the worst fanfiction to ever exist, where I put characters from my favourite book series into the Hunger Games and also me and my friends??? I can't believe)

Sorry for the wall of text, I just wanted to let you know you're not the only one that feels that way, if that helps Cute

Don't be sorry. I really need the critism. Without it, I would stay in the same state that I'm in. Sometimes, it's hard to hear but in the end, it's usually a good thing. I don't blame you guys. I actually am glad that I get to rewrite it and I'm glad you guys told me it has potential. That way I'm not giving up on it.

Your comment is striving me to be better. I really needed it to be honest. Lately, I've probably have needed a lot of constructive critism and those comments were my wake-up call. You are making me a better writer and I thank you for that. Arms

Thank you. I know it's hard and I don't ever want to give it up because it's my passion, yknow?

Hey, I'm sorry that my words upset you. That definitely was not my intention. I'm glad you've decided to rewrite it though, especially now that you're in a better state of mind.

It takes a great deal of courage to even submit your work on the site, let alone to have it come up on the LAC/TAK banner. I commend you for that.

I hope you have a good day, and again I'm sorry that my words upset you.

Hey, ranting can be good for you, sometimes you just gotta let it out!

I read this and I feel bad because I was one of the people who commented on your 'leave a comment, take a comment' story. I never leave comments to make people doubt themselves, I want to help them write the best story they can and I know that you're an amazing writer.

I'm a fan of yours, have been since we met on here Arms I'm sorry if my comment upset you, that was never my intention!

There's no way to go but up! Whenever I feel down with writing, I always strive to be better than I was before because owning up to my mistakes as a writer helps me mature as well. I can accept my mistakes easily than before. Everyone starts out small and not everyone can write good in their first tries. Writing is like breathing, in a way.

Exactly. I love it too much to quit and it is therapeutic for me. All my emotions wash away when I write.

Sometimes quitting does seem like the best option (I've been close to doing so as well), but you can't do it. If you quit how do you expect to get better?

I definitely understand where you're coming from, but every time you try something new with your writing or go outside your comfort zone, you're improving and that's amazing. Keep your head up because you will continue to grow as a writer.Cute

Oh Emzy! That's the beauty of writing though. There's always a room for improvement. Nobody's good from the get go. We practice and we help each other get better. That's how we learn. And besides, I'm always here if you need me and I know you'll be there if I need you as well.
