I think everyone has that phase where they self-insert themselves in a fic and kill off every character they don't like.

I've never been to Quizilla. But looking back on all bad fics I'd written and compared them to my current ones, I notice that I'd improved a lot. In terms of characters and also writing-wise.

I'm pretty sure I was 14 when I started writing and I only posted my first story on Quizilla, since I hadn't discovered Mibba at that point. And now that Quizilla is gone that story is gone and I'm glad because it was terrible

GOD, reading this made me think back to my first (and only) fanfiction.

Basically, me and my friend decided we would make this mess of a fanfiction together. It was basically all the characters from various of our favourite books series put into the Hunger Games, along with us and a few friends (yes, it was even self-insert to the max). So characters from the Hunger Games, Harry Potter, House of Night, Vampire Diaries, Twilight and so on all ended up in the Hunger Games arena to fight it out. I even broke the rules of the Hunger Games and made 'teams' so a large group of us (basically me, my friends and all my favourite characters) could all win. I even paired myself up with my favourite fictional character at the time, as my friend did with hers. And I killed off all the characters I hated anyway. Then we all escaped the games? I think? And me and my friend turned into a vampire and attended the House of Night school and HONESTLY, I don't know anymore. All characters came back to life, somehow. It was 100 pages long. I STILL HAVE IT ON MY COMPUTER.

I am so sorry for that brick wall, but honestly I hope it gave you (and whoever else may be reading this ) a good laugh because HONESTLY.

EDIT; Apparently it did finish, it finished with Hermione turning back time on her time turner and we went to the start and that was it LOL.

It wasn't my thing, either but I have tried it out on my own and I have read a few decent written m-preg fics that were actually good. The only reason my slash fic turned into a m-preg story was because my friend took the notebook home and threw the m-preg plot in there. XD

Well... I think most people who are serious about their writing hate their older, earlier stuff. Because we were so immature and inexperienced when we wrote those. The important thing is, you're willing to improve.

It's funny to see that the common denominator in our shitty fics wasn't exactly the plot in itself, but the characters. I mean, I don't think I would really mind much about the plot if only I'd developed the characters better. I mean, take the Romeo and Juliet recipe for example. So many people are doing stories on forbidden love. But they're still desirable as long as the characters are believable and well-developed. And of course if the stories are executed well.

I pride myself on the fact that I never wrote a cliche fanfic. SO PROUD OF MY 14 YEAR OLD SELF.

Technically the first story I wrote was when I was 8 and it was about this little girl who had a dream about stars and they brought peace to Earth but the first story I posted online was when I was 14 and it was based off of the song Weightless by All Time Low. My main character was a girl in high school who had no parents and had to take care of her little brother. They somehow had a house and food even though she just worked part time at a coffee shop. She was super emo and only had 2 friends who she was in a secret band with. I never finished it and the characters were horribly undeveloped, but it could have been much worse

My first fanfic was terrible. It was a Frerard and Frank was a major Burch and Gerard was on drugs and they basically fall in love have sex and then Frank does a week later..... Then end! Terrible right? Then there is my disaster of the Macky fix (M Shadows and Zacky V) that was atrocious. Lets not talk about my Waycest fix. I am so so sorry Gerard and Mikey but in my story, they basically had a fight then had sex.... Idk I hated my old stuff

I first wrote about a girl who happen to stumble upon One Direction's tour bus (I mean, this is already bad.) So the girl is stubborn and doesn't want to leave because she doesn't trust the guys telling her it was a tour bus. So she just stays on because she claims it is a public bus that will eventually take her home. Like, I made ID management okay with this random girl and basically she falls in love with Harry.

This brings back so many writing memories omg

I wrote about this girl who moved to England for her grandmother and on the plane ride, she meets Harry and of course, they hate each other. And um, sitting next to Harry Styles?????? How's that even possible? I didn't even build my character carefully. I made her with no backstory whatsoever~ cranky, moody with no further explanation. And the worst part? The story is still on Mibba. help

Welllllll... to be fair, that title was kinda awesome. And of course my Zacky was the one with the common sense. But it's good that you'd improved. That's the best thing about writing though. The more you do it, the more you get better if you're open to learning.

Lina, let me tell you about the first ever fanfic I wrote, prepare yourself for a cringe fest, here we go...

I wrote an M. Shadows incest fic. With a really big age gap between the sister and Matt They kept it a secret but were found out by Zacky, and they forced him to keep it quiet, even though Zacky didn't agree with what was going on (Zacky seemed to be the only one with common sense). It ended with Matt going on tour and the girl going to college and they agreed they had to end it.

Oh, and it was called Foolish Lies of Growing Old

I started writing 15 years ago and damn, I had similar plot lines as your stories, only they were for cartoons and animes but still, I was horrible at writing as well. I still have one notebook from my middle school years and a shit ton of others that contained Marvel comic stories and even my first original slash, which, thanks to a friend, who co-wrote the last few chapters of it with me, derailed the whole plot and made it about the younger main character getting pregnant by his boyfriend and i just sort of stopped writing after that because writing a male pregnancy story wasn't what i intended to write... maybe one of these days I may rewrite the slash and stamp out the plot holes, develop the characters who were all modelled after anime characters I blatantly ripped off and fix male pregnancy portion of the story to where it never happened. XD

I also wrote another slash that was about a male vampire noble who ran a sex slave ring of humans and his lover was a young fire demon who was nothing more than a whiney brat...

Yeah, I wrote a lot of weird shit in my day.

OH MY GOD! I also found mibba through INO! I read a ton of fanfics there before migrating here.

OH! I think everyone has embarrassing fic story. It'll be fun to rewrite that fanfic again though. Like using the same recipe but with our new, improved writing style. See how much we can change the story.

I started reading fan fic when I was about 15? I was MAD into Green Day (still am ) and MCR (after finding that they'd toured together) and found GeekStinkBreath.net then I'mNotOkay.net, both of which had a fan fic section, which led me to Mibba. I started reading a story called A Student/Teacher Relationship and decided that I wanted to write my own story, so I wrote this horrifying thing called A Boy Named Evan in a notebook under my bed and posted it online. It was baaaaaad. Like, using rape to further plot bad. Like, fucking terrible. OMG. The first fan fic I wrote was an MCR one and that was probably also terrible, but I don't remember anything about it. Blanked it out
