I think they put the emails there with good intentions at first to keep up with them but then may not receive an email for a while, and so check less and less often, until they forget about it. Ideally, they should link the site email with an email they regularly check.
You could try creating an account with a different email and seeing if the message goes through? And then change the email in the settings to the one you want, if it allows you to.

I wouldn't know, I haven't been able to log in because I never got the confirmation email, I have heard good things though.

Wow, that's a pretty big space of time for them not to get back to you! With Mibba (and I may just be biased here), I've never ever had a problem with admins replying back. They're always so prompt, it's awesome! I've never used WritersCafe or anything like that, would you recommend them?

I didn't think you were being a brat, I'm not always the best at explaining what I mean very clearly so I thought maybe you just didn't understand.

I will admit I was being a bit impatient with WritersCafe simply because I've dealt with these type of problems with other sites where I needed help, but never got it. However; the blog was to address these problems in general and not just with WritersCafe.

I do understand where you're coming from with the Wattpad thing; they definitely need to check their e-mails every once in awhile and waiting a year is a little uncalled for. On the flip side of that, maybe that haven't answered because of the fact that it has been a year and they don't see the point?

In terms of WritersCafe, I'd say give them another day before trying to e-mail them again. Something could've happened to the messages? It does seem a little outlandish, but it's possible.

I see where you're coming from in terms of there being a certain responsibility and I do agree with you there. I've just seen so many people talking about administrators on various sites and how they don't do their 'jobs' and their view of a job is someone that caters to the user's every whim, if that makes sense, so I do apologize if I seemed like kind of a brat at first.

I'm not saying they should, however; at some point they need to answer, otherwise they shouldn't tell you to put their email in your contacts, or better yet, they could fix the problem so there would be no need for anyone to need to email them in the first place.

It's not simply WritersCafe I have this problem with, Like I said before, I had an issue on Wattpad and I emailed them last year about it, and I still haven't heard anything from them. I'm not saying they to drop everything in their lives for me or a hobby, I'm just say I fail to see the point in giving us the email to contact them for help if no one is ever going to help or even cares enough to check their emails in the past year or so to see if anyone needs help. I understand it's a hobby, but if you're going to start something, be it a website or a guild in an MMO while true enough, it's just a game or a hobby, there is a certain amount of responsibility you have to take for the people who are counting on you to come through.

The point still stands, though. Most websites are just hobbies to people; they can't be expected to drop everything in their lives to cater to those that have questions.

I wasn't talking about Mibba, I was talking about WritersCafe, Mibba's been just fine.

Also keep in mind that the Admins have lives outside of Mibba. This site isn't necessarily a job, just a hobby of sorts. They don't have to slave over checking e-mails from members, you know?Shifty

I thought about that, but the thing is they tell you if the email does not come within 5 minutes to add them to your contacts, as well as you know checking your spam folder and resending the email. So my thing is why have it there if no one is going to answer? There should be someone on it, if it's there to help people having problems. I find it irritating, but I'm on here and Wattpad so it's not like it matters if I get in or not.

I think that as it's usually a volunteer position, they probably don't keep up with checking their email if it's for that website in particular. And there's no one telling/reminding them to keep up with it. So if they didn't receive regular emails, it'd be easily forgotten about.
    It is frustrating though.
