My bad. Sorry. Tbh, I'm probably following a lot of people using white models but I do try finding the names out of the face claims. I think there are people who mistake some light skinned pocs as white people like you said though.

I'm sorry if it seems like i'm reading too much into you saying, y'all, but it just seems/feels like you were clumping everyone together. Because while you were responding to me, it made me feel like you weren't talking to me but to everyone or clumpnig everything together or something. ..... I was using y'all as a term of everyone who is using models and stuff. It's a general term and if you dont research your models then you're probably getting white models seeing how POC models aren't big on google or anywhere else. Minus unless you're following people on tumbr that blog POC models.

I do, but it's still a bit hard and please don't refer to me as y'all because I'm not everyone and i said it was me who has a hard time telling someone's nationality. I have a hard time doing so because many photos/images i find on the internet or at least on tumblr often don't have names of the models and actors and such.

Oh god that's so baaaaaaaaaad and really does harm to the communities especially with the history between Japan and China. It's really disheartening that people honestly do not see this as a bigger problem than what they do.

Yeah it just seems the logical thing to do...it just makes me wonder if people see Perdo Pascal as white when he clearly is a latinx man. It's interesting once you can tell and can't tell or once you know the culture.

I love this blog!! I totally agree. I always look up the background of the face claim I'm using to make sure I am getting the ethnicity 100% right. The last thing I want to do is whitewash anyone or falsely claim an ethnicity (like people who think that Chinese, Japanese and Korean are interchangeable, etc.)

I totally agree with what you're saying, though! I always make sure to investigate characters before I use them as a face claim so I don't mistake their ethnicity, etc. Could you message me the story, too? I'm kinda curious like decay

For real, anytime I see a person who may look latina but I could tell they could be mixed I look before I just make them latina. It's just...what people should do!

if you're using face claims don't yall look at the history of the person? Especially if they are actors? Like usually all light skin people who are POC talk about their race.

It's not acceptable. I can see maybe people using Gigi Hadid and saying she's white because she is white passing but her last name should be there to remind you that she isn't only white.

Admittedly, it's sometimes hard for me to tell if someone is actually caucasian or if they're just a POC with very light skin tone. Which is why i don't really mention my characters' skin color, especially if i'm using face claims.

But truuuuuuuuu. Like don't ignore the POC part of the person, that's rude as hell! It doesn't take that much to research stuff for your own story so there's no excuses

Are you talking about if someone uses a POC as a faceclaim in their story but then talks about the person as though they're white? I just want to make sure I'm reading this correctly so I don't comment and look like a fool if I misinterpreted anything lol

It's getting outta hand...main reason why I was mad I thought the story was gonna be lit. POC just being rich snotty kids and that...didn't happen.

Adriana lima which I don't think she is white passing?and if so she's talked about being a mixed culture with afro-latina and Tyler Posey. Which I mean if you squint you'd think he was white LMAO but he can go into white passing.

Yes, I've noticed that also...I mean I understand if you are white passing you get such a privilege it's not even funny but to dismiss half of them is lame and counter productive.

Massive cringe right now. I cannot comprehend the influx in whitewashing and appropriation going on online lately.

Was the face claim white passing though? I see a lot of other POC saying you're white if you pass as white - which lol no - but I see a lot of white people, in turn, listening to that.
