This! I experience this on a near daily basis! People give me looks and whatnot when I park and get out of my car, just because sometimes I don't have a limp or gimpy walk (it's only really bad on days I work). A friggin' cop once pulled me over because I have handicapped plates on my car and I "don't look handicapped". Ugh. Drives me INSANE.

omfg, what. that's so ridiculous. -___- i can't believe someone -- especially someone who deals with chronic illnesses -- would have the gall to say something like that. ugh.

i think what was even worse was that this woman, after i explained my sister had epilepsy and just because she couldn't see the disability didn't mean it wasn't there, she said she had chronic health problems as well? if you have an invisible illness like that, why are you quick to judge whether or not you can 'see' a disability? Facepalm smh.

yeah i get what you mean, i'm glad he's okay though Cute

you have way more self control than i do. my sister has epilepsy and her seizures can be triggered if she's exhausted or stressed out. we went to a convention in Feb, and they were absolutely fantastic about dealing with her disability needs. they gave us a special pass to skip queues and there was even seating scattered around the venue specifically for disabled badge holders.

we had some time to kill, so she sat down on one of these seats and i stayed stood up. a volunteer for the event came over to 'remind us' that the seating was for disabled guests. i just stared at this woman, and very quickly just went "She is disabled." i was absolutely fuming, and my sister was in tears Sad i felt like i was very rude in how i responded to this woman, but honestly... we'd had such a good time, and it just made it all seem that much worse.

some people will just forever be ignorant, i guess. Arms i hope your little brother wasn't too upset by it all.

That's digusting. Had you completely tripped out on them it would have been understandable. I hope that person is showed the same respect they gave you and your family, WHICH IS NONE!
