I prefer reading (and writing) in 3rd person, but I think if you want to give 1st person a try, you should. It's a good idea to try something different with your writing every once in a while. Who knows, you might really like how it comes out, and if you don't, you can always rework it later.

You should try. Trying new things in writing is a good thing and why not take a shot?

    BUCKY BARNES!

Okay, now that I've gotten that out of the way. Honestly, write in whichever perspective you think will tell the story best. You can still write from 3rd person and focus entirely on one person's thoughts and actions. But writing from 1st person may also help you "think outside the box" a bit. The great thing about stories, though, is that you can always change your mind if one way doesn't work for you. :D

I tend to use both a lot in my writing. So it usually just depends on how I think the story is best told. Sometimes 1st person has the effect that I want or if I want readers to "get into the mind" of the character. And sometimes I know ahead of time that I'm going to need to step back away from that character's narrative for a bit and so I go with 3rd person. You can also hit details better that way too since how you narrate a character's thoughts says a lot about who they are.

Either way, nothing is set in stone and you shouldn't feel restricted to any specific type of storytelling. You can always change things if you change your mind. ^.^

I write in both first and third person. First person is great especially when you want that particular character to shine (?) {that can be through their thoughts} Third person is equally good because you can really cover more of what is happening (including things someone in first person may miss).

Tbh, I like writing in first person but depending on the story, I write in either third or first person. xD Now the one pov i hate writing in is second person. Idk why but i do. If you want to explore the world around the character and make the reader feel engaged/immersed in the world, you can always write in third person, but if you want to slip into your character's shoes completely, first person is highly suggested.

Isnt it funny how our brains are like "nope, no new things. Must revert to the known." Crazy And we don't even realize what we're doing! lmfao

oh yes, I've been there done that. lmfao

There's this story that I had and it was in first pov, but in one of the chapters I accidently wrote it in third. I'm just so used to writing in third, haha.

I had that problem the first time I tried to write in present tense. I kept unconsciously switching back to past tense and it was a big old mess when I looked back on what I'd written Facepalm

I prefer third person tbh. I'm so used to it where writing in first is impossible. lmfao

But ya know what, there's nothing wrong with trying something new!
