In my old age (lol), I have lost and gained many friends. People change all of the time. Which sucks, but is usually for the best. It's kind of like going through a break up where you reminisce over all of the good times that you had together.

I think it helps to just realize that she is clearly so caught up in her relationship that she doesn't notice things going on around her. She thinks the world (and you) should also care about her boyfriend as much as she does. If it wasn't going to be this concert, it was going to be something else.

If she's someone you really don't want to lose, then I suggest you talk it over with her and let her know that you are upset because she decided to take him instead of you, when you're the one who got her the tickets. That was something special you did for you and her.

But if you're going off to college and don't think you'll miss her, then maybe it's better just to let the anger go as much as possible. Eventually, she'll be a blip in your past. It might hurt now, but if you don't think the friendship is worth the hassle, then maybe it's not? It's all up to you.

It always sucks to lose a friend especially a really close one. She knows you don't like her boyfriend it wouldn't be the end of the world to spend one night away from him so that the two of you could have gone to the concert together. I'd say sit down and write her a letter getting out everything you're feeling. Even if you never give out to her at least those feeling don't be balled up inside of you growing slowly larger day by day. The best option is to get those feelings out so that it doesn't could and you end up exploding on the wrong person for things your friend did. Hope this helps you
