Why Am I Thinking of NaNo in August? | Hey Mibba, Long Time, No See. - Comments

I somewhat struggled with the same complications with writing. I started a series when I was 17. It had the potential to cary some mature scenes *wiggles eyebrows,* but my kid self just opted out for the pathetic "fade to black..." I've done some research on writing mature scenes and when I went back to writing a second draft for my books (at age 23...I'm now 25 and 3 books into the series), I've been able to successfully (I think?) incorporate some sexy scenes and maturing the book.

I wrote non-stop from age 17 to 21. I lost interest for about 2 years. My personal life went haywire and I didn't seem to have my priorities in order. I did things I'm not proud of and forgot the joys I once felt when writing. I'm not sure what spurred me to return to writing 2 years ago, but I'm glad I did. Although I have dreams of being published (I'd like to attempt that journey in about 2 years...), I thankfully don't feel the pressure of it yet. That is partly why I want to complete 5 out of the 9 books for my series before I attempt publication. Pressure sucks.

Also, those 2 years where I wasn't writing, I had taken a break from Mibba, too. Only, when I returned, it was after one of Mibba's crashes, so I literally lost ALL of my writing and had to start over again. That was super depressing. Now I back everything up 4 different ways. I lost 3 books that way as well as the motivation to rewrite any of them.
