Yeah, the main reason I had wanted the other position was for the experience. It'll look good on a resume and stuff, so when my boss finally came to me with this other admin job, I was pretty stoked. I need all the experience I can get.

But yeah, that blows. Like, favoritism in the work place isn't cool, and that's coming from someone who's a favorite. My boss has been accused of giving me good shifts and stuff, but I've been there for two years (and the ex is his adopted son which made things difficult, but he's really good at staying professional. Like, it was never a problem between us because I work my ass off and deserve everything I get).

He does need to back off. He's the main reason I started putting my phone on do not disturb. If I see his name pop up, I can't just not answer because he always says something that makes me mad and I HAVE to reply to it. I can't help myself, so these last few days have been really nice. I'm sure I'll see him at the bar on Sunday after work, though, so that'll be the true test.

And, thank you! It's a little gaudy, but I like it.

I totally know the feels with bosses who give positions to other people. Rolling Eyes my assistant manager was fired a while back, and I didn't want that actual position but I told my manager that I had been previously trained on paperwork so I could help out on weekends. She said that would be great, but then scheduled me on swing shift on weekends instead of in the mornings. Then we got a new manager because our manager had been dual managing two stores, and I told the new manager before she went on vacation that I knew how to do paperwork. So she said she'd have me do it when she got back. But while she was gone my old manager apparently trained her favorite employee from my store on the paperwork so he took that over when our boss came back from vacation. It was just really frustrating because I wanted more experience with the paperwork.

Right before I left there was also some bs happening at another store, where they were giving another assistant manager position to a brand new employee (who was dating my old boss's assistant manager) even though they had a girl who'd been working there for like three years and knew everything already. File Ridiculous the messed up things bosses/managers etc just blatantly do sometimes.

Also your ex needs to back the f*ck up and act like an adult sheeze. Way to make things awkward, champ.

Side note: I dig your blog layout. tehe
