@ ocarina. Thank you! That’s really helpful. I’m definitely gonna give that a shot. I’ve been journaling and it’s been helping me get more into the rhythm. I definitely think it would help to write fun things that I have a lot of love for without pressure. I think it was the pressure that was holding me back.
i know how you feel about not being able to write after a long time! i think what really helped me was just to write something- anything- that maybe you don't feel super passionate about but get's the creative juices going. and by passionate, i mean "this has to be the best story in the world" passionate, not i want to write this story. i was in a serious writing rut and literally couldn't get anything out so i wrote a cute throwaway fluff story and it really helped me get back into the writing groove, and because i didn't take the story as my "serious" writing, I didn't feel this inane pressure to have it be perfect, and it was so much easier to write. getting in the motions can really help you get passed that first hurdle!
