Honestly if there is nothing unique thing about the IPod that would set it apart form others, it's a 50/50 chance. I would of just walked away too. No point in starting sh*t in public. Because I have the feeling the guy would never admitted to taking it if it was yours.

I also know that it's not vital to my life and all but like it still...sucks.

I may talk to the desk, like casually mention it. I don't think they can do anything though.

Ugh that is the most heartbreaking thing ever and I am so sorry, bae. Honestly I probably would have walked away as well. Maybe at some point you guys can get the gym staff involved? I probably would go that route if I did everything, because I'm terrified of confrontation in situations like that.
