That's true, but like I said in the journal... it's inspiration to live. The band opened them up to something different, and the person accepted it. I'll just say the band can help, but ultimately, it's your decision. I'm just saying... it's better to have a strong beleif in yourself than to rely solely on one band.
I know that bands can make you FEEL BETTER, but saying they saved your life is a different range entirely... I love Green Day. And no, they didn't save my life. They made it better. You can express your love of a band without saying they saved your life.
True, but it's more a matter of how you think of yourself, and a matter of truth than simply whether someone is alive. I think people are just a lot stronger than they realize, and giving a band credit for their life is one of those things that keeps them from realizing it.
Yes we all know its MCR that people say "Saves lives", but people usally just say it too show how much they like them. And maybe there music just makes the people feel better, when I'm sad I listen too music and it helps a little. But no the Band didn't knock the gun away from your hand, or take away the rope you were going to hang yourself with.
I disagree with some of this, but I don't think that's the point. As long as something, whether themselves or the band, convinced them to continue to live, I'm happy. I don't care if they claim a band or not.
I totally agree nothing annoys more then tons of mibba pages talking about how some band *coughMcrcough* saved their life. The Used is my favirote band, they've influenced me, listeaning to their music has given me encouragement but they weren't with me when I od'd or cut myself. I just relate to their lyrics and find insperation in them.
You talk like I'm being such an ass about it or something. I'm not pushing away people's opinions. I'm telling them that they should give themselves credit for wanting to live. If that makes me a loser, then fine. That's exactly what I am. A total loser and advocate of self confidence.
well.. I half agree. Music makes people feel better. It provokes emotion, so when a song just lets someone cry and cry and cry, their releasing so much emotion, and it makes them feel better. Also, being fixated on a band/CD/ song really takes a person's mind off of the pain of whatever they went through.
I would know.. Green Day's American Idiot helped me. (Ahem, helped) but they didn't save me. I feel angry when people rant about bands not saving people's lives, and making them look like idiots. It takes a real loser to push away someone's opinion like that without empathy..
Exactly... they just make it better. <3 You save it though. I just felt the random need to get that thought out though... this world is in need of some self confidence...
