My X broke up with me a few weeks ago over text.
It went something like this.

Hey, yeah I don't think this is working out, still be friends though, yeah?
Cool, wanna catch up this weekend?

Gahh Yeah but to get back on topic, some guys are just too pussy, I think.
Texting is definitly not the 'man-ly' way to go about it.

I totally agree. Breaking up over texts is way harsh. But if he thought that it was the only way he could break up with you, you probably wouldn't have had a good relationship anyway. I don't like the way he tried to dignify himself. I think you handled everything really well, though.
