Just a Crush? With a family member? WHAT! - Comments

  • When you think about it,
With the way everyone is breeding around here,
You never know who's your cousin anymore...

But if you're family is close,
    Like others have said,
    That'd be a bit weird...

    Everyone's different though,
Like when I know someone's my cousin,
    Whether the number,
    It's just YUCK to me,
But again that's other people... lol... ^_^

  • My friend has a crush on her step grans sisters daughters son...haha, and he is super cute.
I don't think that it will matter if you date (besides your family dissapproving) cuz I mean eveyone is commenting about how your child will or wont be deformed one day, who's to say you guys will marry?

  • I guess Sardonic Grin is right....

    Okay your totally right!
    *Sudden Relalisation-that took forever =]*
    I don't know what I was thinking.

Oh and you wanna know the sad part...
I don't think he even feels the same way.
    It's stupid.
    But thank you so much,
You guys helped me to see.
    *nods*

    Thanks again.

    Peace.

  • Genetically speaking, there aren't any problems. You guys are like...4th cousins or something. Your children won't turn out deformed or anything like that.

Thing is, you have to think about how your family would react to it. If the reaction would be negative, which I'm assuming it would be, I'd stay away. :/

  • If you live in the US, I believe it's still legal to marry your second/third/fourth/etc cousin. It's only parents, siblings, children, aunts, uncles, grandparents, grandchildren and first cousins that are off limits.
I think, anyway. Don't quote me on it.
But I agree with Sardonic Grin. The only real problem here is your family's disapproval, which, considering the circumstances, is very likely.
Good luck, though. Hope you get everything figured out. :)

  • Sardonic Grin is right. It seems like the connection is very, very thin. It's possible that people can get married with relations like that without knowing it and they can live normal lives and have normal children. The only big no-no's would probably first and second cousins... that's just too close.

  • Okay, walking disaster is overreacting a bit, because it takes more than having sex with your 6th cousin to have a crippled child. It takes years and years of inbreeding for something drastic to happen. Also, I am trying to count down, and it seems like you guys are like 3rd or 4th cousins, which means the blood line is a bit thin. Plus, it isn't totally wrong to like your cousin: FDR married his 5th cousin, Elenore Roosevelt.

However, if your families are close then that will be a problem, and it will be a bigger problem if he doesn't feel the same. So you really shouldn't try to persue it unless he gives you a hint that he likes you.

  • Thanks guys.
Even though it's kinda hard not to be attached, but yeah... I get what your saying.
I'll stick to dreams... they're free.
No offense taken - vghdob. =]
    Hahaha, lol.

  • O.O
    Incest is bad.
Run as fast as you an in the opposite direction.
    (Figuratively Speaking of course)

  • INCEST! Sorry, I'm hyper, I didn't mean it offensively. Yeah, I used to have a little crush on a second cousin, I got over it though. Just be friendly but don't get too attached because then...Read the first word XD.

  • If he's you're cousin It's probably best to stay back. It could be weird for you're family. I mean, he IS family. This is slightly random but you wouldn't be able to have kids. Well you would be they might be , uh, crippled.
