I'm really just trying to find the name of this book, I'll just post what it's about and hopefully someone here has read it. :D

So I remember reading this book a couple of years ago and I really liked it. I knew that a sequel was going to come out a few months later, thing is, I don’t remember the name of it or the author. But I kinda remember what happened in it.

There was this girl, she was a vampire or something and she was the leader of a coven in Europe who got tired of being around people, I guess. So she went to sleep for a few centuries but got woken up early and her boyfriend, I think enrolled her in a school in the US to hide her from her coven. He leaves her and pretty much steps out in the sun, where he burns to death so that she could be human again. Well, she starts school like a normal student. She meets a boy there who becomes her really good friend and who is an artist. He likes her, I think and draws an amazing portrait of her that she likes. She ends up falling for the cute popular kid (big surprise) and he dumps his current gf for her, I think.
Meanwhile, in Europe, it finally comes time to wake her from her sleep and when they do, they realize that she had been woken up early and taken somewhere else. They finally find a clue as to where she is, since her bf had burned the pamphlet for the school she was going to be at in the fireplace but the name of the school was still legible. So they travel to the US to get her back only to realize that she’s human again and end up killing her best friend, that artist kid.

I know that’s not much to go on and I’ll get lucky if someone has actually read that book. But it was worth a shot.

There's always True Grit by Charles Portis, and Louis L'Amour's books are all westerns I think. And I've found this list on Amazon of some westerns. Here's a list from GoodReads. If you don't mind a bit of cross-genre, The Gunslinger series from Stephen King might be something to check out. I'm not fluent in the genre, but those are off the top of my head.
thank you I'll have to check them out

Does anybody know of a good classic book or two? It's a reading assignment, but we're allowed to choose our own books.
I personally absolutely love pride and prejudice. Anything by Shakespeare obviously. Maybe some Edgar Allen Poe? Sort of different classic. Jane Eyre is quite good as well. Peter Pan is quite a cute one as well (play or book).
    Hope that helps!

I want a really good book that will change my outlook on life, even just the tiniest bit.

One with a story, though. Not like a self-help book kind of thing.

I'm looking for a really good dystopian book. I'm almost done with The Hunger Games Trilogy and I've read The Giver, Fahrenheit 451, Harrison Bergeron by Kurt Vonnegut, which is more like a short story. The length of it doesn't matter. Neither does the author. I tried reading Matched by Ally Condie but I just couldn't get into it. So any help would be great, thanks :)

Have you read The Handmaid's Tale by Margaret Atwood? I'm reading it right now. It's really good so far, and the writing style is beautiful.

I read those Tamora Pierce books a few years ago. I loved them, and I've been meaning to read them again since then. I don't know whether I'd love them as much anymore, but I was obsessed with them at the time. If you haven't already, you should give them a go. Definitely nothing complex; I read them when I was in sixth grade, but I guess I always read books a little more advanced than what I was up to, so I can't completely remember...
    :|

I don't know entirely what kind of book I'm looking for. Something complex, but not too complex. Maybe something involving the mind of the protagonist. Not like 'The Catcher in the Rye', but more like Ellen Hopkins books. I know that half the people on this site say that, but they're really the kind of books that intrigue me. I like books that kind of mess with the mind, not necessarily entirely realistic. Something with a little romance, but not a teen 'I'm so in love with this guy' kind of thing. I don't know... I can't really make this any more specific. Any suggestions would be great :)
If you like Ellen Hopkins you might just like WAKE, FADE, and GONE. This trilogy is by Lisa McMann and I'm confidant you will enjoy them.

Can anymore recommend something along the lines of "The Perks of Being A Wallflower"? I love that book, and most of the things I've found like it (ie. the books by David Levithan and Rachel Cohn), I've already read. I'm looking for something new.

Also, any good WWI/ 19th Century literature reminiscent of E.M. Forster or Oscar Wilde. I'm dying for something new in that area.

    Help please?

I'm looking for something that's dark and twisted. And by twisted, I don't mean high school dramaz about somebody cheating on somebody and getting their reputation ruined. Like... no Gossip Girl type stuff. It can be YA or just normal, adult fiction, but I'd almost prefer adult.

If it helps any, some of my absolute favorite books are the Dollanganger series by V.C. Andrews. You know, the one that starts with Flowers in the Attic. It's such a twisted series, and is an example of what I'm looking for.
The Maximum Ride series by James Patterson
Lockdown: Escape From Furnace by Alex Gordon Smith
Black Hole Sun by David Macinnis
The Maze Runner by James Dashner
    Unwind by Neal Shusterman

Can anyone recommend any books about cancer/a mental illness that aren't too overdramatic? I prefer simple storylines that are well written.
this book is about an illness and it's pretty funny. I recommend God Is In The Pancakes by Robin Epstein.
