What Distracts You?

Well.
When I really sit down and write it - nothing. But that's usually because i sit down and flash-write a scene or two. Sometimes, though, I get distracted by things that are going to happen soon, or another story idea (usually happens when I'm past planning and start writing, say about 5 chapters in). Or everyday small things. :c

Five letters: Tumblr. It's a subconscious thing at this point. I'll be writing, and then suddenly I'm scrolling through Marvel posts. No matter what I do I can't avoid it, so I just consider those my break periods and immediately refocus once I realize I strayed again.

Also research. I get way too into it.

Mostly, I'll look something up or check something for the story I'm writing, and it'll end up being a chain reaction of interesting videos and reading material until I've forgotten what I'm even trying to do.

Twitter, Mibba, Wattpad, Deviant Art, Spotify (I have this thing about finding the perfect track to match the scene I'm writing and I'll end up surfing songs and artists for hours), Right now my biggest distraction is getting ready to paint my room in the next few weeks and cleaning out all my shit.

Music (I am extraordinarily picky about what I listen to so I spend a while creating a playlist of music I want to listen to at that point). Tumblr. Making layouts for the story. The General forum.

Really, anything that isn't writing distracts me. I'm very easily distracted. In fact, I should be writing right now.

My whole life distracts me from writing. Homework, Youtube, my laziness, doing fun things with friends. And this is the story about why I never update anymore.

I guess in general it depends on the day- work is my number one distraction (do I have a Press Release or a Contract to write or edit?), music, Polyvore and YouTube are also big "offenders" (and if Grav3YardGirl or Zoella release new videos I basically just throw in my white flag).

I have so many distractions, it's really bad ::shame:
Facebook: Facebook is my main one, I get caught talking to people and then I never get any writing done... it's terrible.
YouTube: YouTube is one of my downfalls, I go on there only wanting to watch a few vines and then BAM two hours have gone.
Sometimes I get side tracked by the TV but not very often unless there is something really good one.

Youtube and Tumblr are my top two distractions. Sometimes when I take a "15 minute" break from writing, I usually lose momentum and forget what I wanted to write about next. The only way I deal with it is honestly just finding inspiration through videos and blog posts. Basically I just use my distractions as inspiration if and when I lose it.

Netflix and as of late, Snapchat because of Rianne.

Practically everything can distract me nowadays! I have to constantly remind myself that I'm writing and to get out of whatever website I'm on. It usually happens when I'm lacking inspiration, because when I really have the urge to write I buckle down and can get anything done without being too distracted.

iTunes, also. It's my best and worst friend.

There are so many distractions for me. For one thing, if someone's in the room with me while I'm writing I get distracted. I don't know why but I can't write with people present because it makes me nervous, I feel like they're looking over my shoulder, even if they're across the room and instead of writing I make conversation with them to make it less awkward for me. Netflix, or the television in general, definitely distracts me. I write best when I put a playlist on. Watching shows means I'm just watching shows and not writing. I can't focus on the story in the show and my own story. Food can be a distraction for me, which sucks because I love to snack while I eat. (If only I could pay someone to feed me). But my fingers get cheesy, or sticky, and I can't type so it definitely hinders in some ways. The worst distraction is when I have other work looming. Like a test coming up, or a hw assignment because I want to write and I'm trying to but my mind is on the assignments I have to do.

People, TV, music, anything can really distract me if I let myself get distracted

Mibba, Facebook, Youtube, and Tumblr all distract me. Also, sometimes I'll think of a quick doodle and draw it while a chapter is waiting to be written.
