My hair's currently a kind of bright red with black in the fringe, but I'll probably get rid of the black again or I'll dye it a lighter and way brighter red. Not sure yet, but I'll definitely dye it again.
I haven't seen my natural haircolor in years and I'm not planning on changing that. ^^

Abuse. lol I get bored with my hair too quickly. At this point it's like 50 different shades between black and blonde. The next time I dye it, which will hopefully be soon, will probably be a dark shade of red.

I don't change my hair color that often. But I want to. Next color I'm thinking about going in black, but gonna leave my hair blonde for now. (dye every 6 weeks to keep roots covered)

I need to re-dye my hair but it's dark brown, almost black. My mom won't let me dye my hair black because it ruins your hair if it's lighter colored

If you dye your hair dark brown anyway, you won't harm it anymore if you dye it black, as either way you're adding artifical colour.

The problem with black dye is that it's a bugger to get out again so if you're unsure, or if your mom's unsure maybe you should try a black in a semi-permanent or Quasi as the colour will just fade out.

Sorry if I sound at all patronizing! I'm a hairdresser :)

I sectioned my hair of with little pony tails and dyed the bottom half, and wrapped them in foil. Just be careful when you're rinsing it out.

^ Oh, I see. But since my hair is naturally curly, would it come out different?
Sorry for all these stupid questions, I don't know much about hair dye.

Does anyone have any links for good sites to get ideas for streaking hair? I'd like to have some streaks in my hair (not sure of colour yet) and I want to have a look at different ideas for placement, size, etc.

I think it looks gorgeous if people mind their skin-tone and eye color and coordinate it all. I think it's crazy that some people seem to think that everyone can look good with any hair color, nevermind their skin tone and eye color. It does not work that way, haha. I don't think the washed out look compliments anyone, honestly, (bleached white hair), no matter their skin or eyes...and especially with a tan.. I just don't think it ever looks good. Personally, I do dye my hair, and I prefer my hair when it's dyed the color that it is now. People tell me that before I told them, they would have never believed my hair was dyed because it looks so natural and it compliments my eyes and skin very well. I think that's how all hair dying should look because it's classy and, in my opinion, always looks better than unnatural colors that looks almost ugly in some cases.
My hair is naturally very blonde, but it is dyed a natural dark brown.

I've been orange since I was twelve pretty solidly. I use cheap-as-chips henna and that's it! Leave it on for a few hours, wash it out, done. It's really good for your hair too, and I'm lucky because I'm a natural blonde it goes a lovely gingery-orange colour.

I've dyed my hair too much. I always get bored and change my colour. I've been black, red, purple, blonde. I've currently been putting strong blonde hair dyes on my hair quite often to get my hair blonde and I'm always using silver toner on it to try and get it silver at the moment.

I currently have reddish pink hair. It's not very vivid as I had not bleached my hair prior to dyeing it, but actually I really like the dark undertones of it. I would liken it to Romano Flowers' hair in Scott Pilgrim, just longer and wavier. :3

I have been: Red, orange, blonde, dark brown, auburn, plum/purple, vivid pink (got isolated in school for that :P), and now dark pink/red. Natural is anything from dark brown to mousy, dirty blonde.

Until two days before my eighteenth last November, I had natural really light brunette hair. I now use and abuse variations of black hair dye - I currently have a blue tinge to my hair.

I've dyed my hair since I was nine. It's naturally dirty blonde.
Various shades of Purple, red, blue, green, and bleached it.
At the moment it's black with like... raspberry colored highlights.
I love it. It was supposed to be purple highlights but when I bleached the black it came out copper and I just put the purple in and it turned out raspberry colored.

What kinds of bleach do you use? I was going to try the flash lightning bleach kit, but I'm not sure if there's anything better, or if it even matters, as long as it gets the color out.
