I actually don't think we're all that good at queuing.
I once got slammed into the side of my bus by someone not just trying to jump the bus queue but assault me in the process ¬_¬

^ We're not good at it but that's how we seem to do things.

I mean, Scotland loves football but not very good at it.

    Same with Wimbeldon.

    Maybe we're all - as a nation - a glutton for punishment.

I love the Brits cos they started so many great things.

The English language, rock music, glam rock, punk rock (well, in my opinion, anyway), machine guns, Protestants, and good writers (from Shakespeare to Wilde to Tolkein to Rowling and also Kipling and Chaucer).
A lot of my favourite things come from England.

Hehe, that's like the Swiss. Once a year everyone becomes a huge soccer fan, millions of francs worth of ridiculous soccer merch is sold (the most common t-shirt and cap phrase is "Hopp Schweiz", which is like the lamest thing to say in the history of lame things) but we never win and we suck.

Protestantism started in Germany didn't it?
It's slightly different from what Henry VIII started which is the church of England.

^ Yeah. The Anglican Church started in England.

    -

I want to move to England when I grow older, or at least study abroad there. It seems so interesting.

    :cute:

And I agree, the British gave us some wonderful things. Mainly, Oscar Wilde and Queen.

I mostly love the history here - we have such a vast range of stuff, but we're only a small country. I love the way we're all supposed to be "posh, stuck up snobs" but i've rarely met many.

I also love our accents, from up north to down south, we each have different accents and i love them all!

Things i hate? Hmm. That'd mostly be that we've turned into such a...pet...to the Americans (no offence to anyone who's American!) when things used to be different.

I love the way we're all a bit stuck up :tehe: I'm personally really proud of being English, despite the state it's in at the moment..

The kind of conflict between chavs and the posher kids always makes me laugh.. I'm from Sussex, which from what I know, is supposed to be a pretty posh part of England. All my cousins think I talk really posh, and I get so self-concious

I love looking at pictures, and all the houses are made of brick. It's so cute :tehe:
Also the way the passenger seat and the drivers seat are flipped.
Everything just seems so quaint and cute.

When most people think of England they think of the nice big country houses, or big wealthy cities like London.
You should see the East part of London and Essex and your vision of the country will change completely.

Worst things: Too many sexual references in TV shows. Aparently it's, for want of a better term, 'looser' over there when it comes to partying and the like.
    Gosh, really? :shifty
I never knew there was this perception of us being more...liberal with these things. Perhaps, growing up with it, I'm not very sensitive to it. But it's interesting that you say that.
No definitely, people are way more liberal in the U.K. If you don't live in the US you wouldn't understand, but here everyone's so afraid of being politically correct that they have to censor pretty much everything that goes on TV. And there's definitely a huge perception that Brits drink a lot more than people in the US do. And smoking is way more accepted in the UK I think.

Not British, but I know British humor is very distinct.
Like differences between the British Office and the American one.
And if Skins was shown in America (well, it is already, on BBC America) but I mean if it was an American show that was British, if that makes any sense. Americans wouldn't really like it.

How could Americans not like skins?
I'm addicted to it! But saying that, I am British.
I love Skins, don't get me wrong! But it would not translate well to an American audience. If they did show it they would have to censor EVERYTHING which would take all the fun out of it.

^ Yeah because in the Family Guy interview that BBC3 had recently with the launch of the new series, they were surprised that we were allowed to swear on TV.

You can really tell this on shows like Jonathon Ross where he's a bit swear-happy and that.

Apparently they are going to make an American version of Shameless.

I have NO idea how that is going to work as they whole premise of Shameless is centred around British people and British culture and society. There is no American equivalent at all so I don't how they are going to rework it unless they change it entirely. The only thing I can think of, is the writers centring it around a trailer park which would be awful.

I don't want to remake it at all :/

    That's really.. peculiar. :| I don't see it working.
Apparently they're going to show The Inbetweeners on BBC America too, I don't know how well that'll go down.

But anyway, our literature, music and humour are by far some of the best :XD.
I don't know how I'd live without Never Mind The Buzzcocks, Mock the Week, etc.
Or Muse and Lord of the Rings :shifty.

^ Hahah, Mock The Week is incredible.
I love our TV shows, and I really don't like that loads of them are rumoured to be or have been remade for America. Disgust
