I believe in ghosts. I've actually felt as though I've been close to one of them.
I mean, why not believe? I've seen a few occasions where it's the only other option, where no logic can prove otherwise. People are granted their own opinion, but I strongly believe in them.

    I believe in ghosts.
I mean, we get proof from shows like Most Haunted and I don't exactly see how it can be faked when they have all those cameras and lasers.

Just no. I'm sorry but saying stuff like you get proof from shows; those shows are for entertainment. They set the stuff up, fake everything.

    They don't exist.

I'd like to think such things as ghosts and spirits, or whatever you want to call them, are real. I've never seen one personally or have had any paranormal experiences, but I'd be nice to know that we have a choice on where we go when we die.
I'd like to stay for a while and look out for the people I leave behind. Very Happy

    Wow.
    You know everything, don't you?

What if one of us has actually seen a ghost?

Because you know every detail of the universe, right?

Don't be so quick to shoot down theories. I don't see any reason behind why they wouldn't exist. We humans don't have enough information regarding the afterlife yet.

Ghosts just freak me out. But I dont see a reason to think they dont exist because they might. People say that they have seen a ghost but we dont know if they're telling the truth or not. You may think that you have seen one but its easily mistaked, but I think ghost's possible exist...
    I think so.

    I believe in ghosts.

It could be that I'm slightly insane or that I actually see things, but once at this "haunted" castle by my town, as we stood around in the courtyard, I pointed my flashlight at one room and saw a shadowy figure peek out of the door. Stupid me, didn't think much of it until seconds later when it clicked that that wasn't supposed to be there. When I looked back it was gone.
I've seen a man in a grey suit walk out of the hallway in my apartment, too. It's also a coincidence that my cat hates being in that hallway by herself.

I've had personal experience with ghosts, so saying that they don't exist isn't true. Shifty

Those of us who are skeptics would say your experience isn't true. In relative terms, this is pretty much the God debate - Atheists say that God doesn't exist (the implicit meaning or more accurate belief is that God probably doesn't exist, although as far as we know we're pretty committed to it). You might as well say you've had personal experience with God and I still wouldn't believe it and would continue in my belief that God doesn't exist. As a skeptic I'd say I put no credibility in supposed personal experience with ghosts and as a rational person I'd say ghosts most probably don't exist.

I apologise, I really do. Facepalm I posted this over a year ago, and at that point I was a lot less open minded. I still don't hold any strong belief in them - but I'm thankfully not quite as self assured anymore.

I believe in them. Why they are here, I'm unsure. Perhaps most are here to protect their loved ones, or to resolve something. I don't really know. However, when I was younger, I honestly believe I seen a ghost or heard it, rather. I was in my aunts house and because her bathroom was downstairs, I was alone at night going to it. I heard a voice repeatedly saying "No. Go back. Go back. It's not safe. Go back." I thought maybe it was my cousin joking around (even though it didn't sound like him) and I continued to walk down, then suddenly, something stopped me. I couldn't walk any further. I don't really know why or how, but I couldn't move any further down like there was a shield in front of me, keeping me back.

Shifty I don't even know what happened, but I think there had been someone (who intruded) into the house or something like that. So then I ask, why would some voice protect me?

I've also seen my great-grandma, who I described in amazing detail... and she died before I was born Shifty

I like the idea of ghosts existing, in all seriousness. But I can't bring myself to believe they do. In other words, I think it'd be cool if they existed, but I don't think they do. This is probably spurred on by my lack of belief in an afterlife. All the same, it would be nice to visit loved ones after I die.

(And terrify the shit out of people I hated. tehe)

You don't have to believe in souls or the afterlife to believe in the paranormal and spirits. There are many different non human entities out there and there are also residual hauntings that are just energies left over from human life. I am actually a Paranormal Investigator and yet I am skeptical that spirits are dead humans. Nothing I've seen proves that to me.

What energies though? Energies are measurable and identifiable. Energy also isn't organic in the sense that it cannot act or think like paranormal concepts. I think that's why skeptics consider spirits, ghosts, and souls one in the same- all concepts with evidence.

And we can measure the energies of a haunting. By energies I mean EMFs of course. We humans emit electromagnetic waves of many different wavelengths. The energy from those waves can be transferred to objects. Higher emotion has proven to increase EM output in humans. If someone is murdered or dies violently they let out a lot of EM waves due to high emotion. It's perfectly logical to believe that some of those energies could be absorbed by objects and end up being emitted at a later date.

Of course energies can't think. That's why I was refering to residual hauntings not intelligent hauntings. I am honestly skeptical about intelligent hauntings and am extremely skeptical on if they are actually dead humans. It actually makes more sense to me if all intelligent hauntings were creatures from other planes of existance or creatures we just haven't proven to exist.

Skeptics don't understand the differences in hauntings enough to differentiate between spirits, ghosts and souls. Most skeptics run on rudimentary science and little knowledge of what they actually speak of.

I believe that ghosts are real.

I have used one of those boards to contact the otherworld with my friend. I don't quite remember how to spell it, but it did actually work, to my surprise. At first, it was really interesting and fun. But then it became addicting, and she wanted us to keep contacting the ghost. I didn't want to, and my cousin told me that I wasn't allowed to. He has a strict rule against that type of thing.

The ghost ended up following me home one night, and no, I am not lying about this. I felt a cold wind, and cold air that felt like hands kept touching my legs and arms as I was trying to study. I was freaking out, and my friend said that she saw white mist in her room.

One night I was telling my friend about this, and all the hair on the back of my neck began to stand up. And right now, my legs feel like they are ice cold. It's a really chilling experience, and I'm not exaggerating about any of this.

I will never use one of those boards again, and I doubt that any of my friends will. Believe me when I tell you that they are dangerous, and they do hold consequences. There are still spirits wandering around this Earth, but you don't want to be in contact with them that way. Use some other way that doesn't excite them so much.

I may be crazy, it may be fake, but I now there is something out there that is real.

My family has had numerous experiences, and I've had one that was one of the scariest things that has ever happened to me. I've never seen anything physically, but I believe there is such thing. I believe paranormal things like that can effect you mentally and emotionally because that's what happened to me.

The reasons why I think something does exsist might be because they're trying to communicate with the living. But since whatever these things are, are not living anymore, it's as if theres a thick line between us and the ways we communicate result in performing a seance or using a Ouija board which could be dangerous.

It's a deep topic that people debate on, and it's totally understandable if one thinks it's all nonsense. It depends on the person I guess.
