Neither of them were famous in the 1920s. Marilyn wasn't alive for most of the 1920s actually.

I think you're off by 20-30 years. Frank Sinatra was really hot during the 40s, and Marilyn was very popular during the 50s. Frank was 14 in 1929, and Marilyn was 3 in 1929.
