The AFI shows with Ceremony as the opening band start tonight at the sight of AFI's first reunion show 16 years ago, The Phoenix Theater in Petaluma, California. For those curious, I do believe The Days Of The Phoenix was written about that same theater. For those interested there will be a live post about the show with video and photos and of course setlist info here. Ceremony is on tour with AFI from tonight until the 31st of this month. In other news, AFI has listened to everyone and finally released a official Crash Love necklace and you can buy that here. I personally do not like the circle outside of the Crash Love heart, As Davey's in the Medicate video did not have that, But for anyone interested, There you go.

^Cheese WANT. It's $34.95 though. D: I'm not that fond of the circle outside of the heart either, but it's the closest we'll get to the one Davey had. I need this necklace in my life. .____.

I'm seeing them tomorrow night! Crazy Last time I saw these guys, it was in a really big venue and this one has a capacity of 1200, so I'm a bit nervous about the crowd. I don't want to get killed. XD

Setlist from tonight's show at The Phoenix Theater, Petaluma, California

    Medicate
    Girls Not Grey
    Leaving Song II
    Too Shy To Scream
    Kill Caustic
Love Is A Many Splendored Thing
    Beautiful Thieves
    Dancing Through Sunday
    End Transmission
    Wester
    On The Arrow
    6 to 8
    Death Of Seasons
    Miss Murder
    The Days Of Phoenix
    Love Like Winter
    Silver And Cold

Being as I was not at this show, A) I am jealous of those kids getting to hear not only Love Is A Many Splendored Thing and On The Arrow, They also got 3 songs off of The Art Of Drowning including one only played once before on this tour, Wester (They played it in Georgia). B) I still have not seen them on this tour cycle for Crash Love, So I cannot imagine them closing with Silver And Cold, It seems like such a weird closer, Also cannot imagine them opening with Medicate, Alot of people I talked to who went tonight said that was a bit weird.

Thanks for posting. :] You're right, it is weird that they'd close with Silver and Cold. Think I would think they'd close with a much faster song, at the very least have Medicate at the end of the set. Ah, well. I'll have to see for myself tomorrow how that plays out. SO happy to see Dancing Through Sunday and Days of the Phoenix on there, you have no idea. I wish Totalimmortal was on the setlist, but that was kind've a pipe dream of mine. XD I wish Okay, I Feel Better Now and I Am Trying Very Hard to Be Here were on the list, too. Those are my favorite tracks off of Crash Love.

Totalimmortal is so good live, As for songs off Crash Love, Sacrilege would be amazing to hear live but they practiced it and said something about how it was not working out, I wish they would play the B-sides live, Every AFI album always has B-sides which to me are better than the actual songs on the album.

Think A lot of those were songs I heard at my show back in October. They didn't end with anything fast for us, either, I don't think. If I remember, it was Love Like Winter or Just Like Heaven. However, they opened with Torch Song leading right into Kill Caustic. Huuuuuuge envy for Too Shy To Scream, that one's one of my favorites and I was hoping they'd play it.

Cheese I always think the b-sides are so much better than the actual album tracks. I don't know why they're always b-sides instead of actual tracks.

I am currently listening to the older albums again, I have so much love for The Art Of Drowning and Black Sails In The Sunset, If there was ever a 1-2 punch from this band when it comes to one amazing album right after another, That would be it for me.

    Oh God. Last night.

The setlist was pretty much the exact same as the Petaluma show, but they played The Interview instead of DOTP. I started crying. Cheese It's my favorite song off DU and I didn't think I'd get to hear it live, and it was just gorgeous. In Love I'm really tired and sore and I've never sweated so much in my life, but last night was so worth it.

Viva Hate was pretty cool, but I wasn't into Ceremony at all. They were too wild for me, and I couldn't understand a word the singer was saying when he sang. Neutral Also waited near their tour bus for two hours and it was freezing. Met Adam, he was really nice. :] Really mellow, too. Davey came out right before my friend's dad came to pick us up and I kind of just froze before asking him to sign my cd. I couldn't even look at him. I don't remember what I said to him either, other than thanking him for coming back to Reno. I know I complimented him, though, because he said, "thank you, I appreciate that" and he sounded genuine. As soon as I turned the corner and left, I started crying. I've been wanting to meet him for four years and I wanted to say so much more to him, but I feel like I was being a dumbass. T_T Thank God I didn't cry in front him.

Also, Silver and Cold was actually a really good way to end the show, too. The last three songs were The Interview, Love Like Winter and then S&C. Medicate was also a good way to open it, too. And the singer in Viva Hate came out to sing with Davey during Death of Seasons. He jumped in the crowd and almost kicked me in the mouth. XD All in all, it was a really amazing show. Well worth the almost four year wait. In Love

AFI or I assume their record label just put up another one of those tweet to reveal mystery things, This time for a preview of the Beautiful Thieves video.

This photo is way too big to be posted on Mibba, It is the current background of the AFI temporary page for the Beautiful Thieves video, And I figured some people may want it as a background, So there it is.

Also, The page has been updated with the teaser for the Beautiful Thieves video, I am so excited for this video, It looks like they are returning to their story/concept and performance type videos that they usually do instead of the Medicate strictly performance type video.

The band played Darling, I Want To Destroy You last night finaly, That means (And here is a fun fact), They have performed all of the songs off of Crash Love live except Sacrilege which they have only soundchecked.

They should play Sacrilege, it's a pretty good song.

AFI is my favourite band, earning their spot as number one in my book to their profound lyrics. Plus I think the entire band are such great people, especially Davey Havok.

They should play it, I am still confused as to why they won't, I heard something about it not working out at sound check so I guess that is the story with that, And I agree with them all being great people, I have met the band once and met Davey and Jade twice, They are super nice, Which is awesome to know seeing as they are my favorite band.

I heard 'em soundchecking Okay I Feel Better Now, wasn't surprised when it was played.

But disappointed bout Zia signing being cancelled. And waiting out after the show for 15. hr in cold then getting kicked out.

And what was up with the goddamn shoe check!?

In regards to the signing at Zia being canceled, I heard something about how the band was traveling and could not make it.

I would love to see Ceremony open for AFI, Even though most if not all of their songs are under a minute or two. I am really impressed with the opening bands AFI is bringing on their tour, I hope they schedule another So Cal date and bring Ceremony or some other awesome band.

That is nice to hear someone enjoyed Ceremony, I just knew though when AFI brought along Ceremony on the tour, That alot of kids would complain about them being too heavy or loud or fast, I cannot even manage to listen to like a whole album of theirs without having a headache and I enjoy other fast hardcore music lmfao.
