I don't like how angry people get over the rules and the way some people overreact when the staff enforces them. There are greater tragedies in the world than having to capitalise blog titles correctly.

Blogs are a place for complete creative freedom. And the thing is, nobody got reprimanded before for having lowercase titles, people all of a sudden were getting messages saying their blogs were edited out of the blue, and that's not fair. If the rule was never truly enforced before, it's not fair to suddenly start enforcing it. And besides, it's not fair to bloggers to have people go into their blogs and edit their things just because they didn't capitalize the title. Blogs are different than stories, they're personal, and should be able to be lowercase if that's what the person wants it to be.

Sure, it's a small issue, but it means a lot to people.

    @ the killing lights.
That was just one example of how a lot of people on here tend to overreact to small issues. I see your point, I don't like the capitalization rule either but it really wasn't worth the drama that it caused.

The Mibba site has become very slow and sometimes I have to wait 5 minutes for something to load and it becomes very tedious and frustrating to wait

It's not even with just blog titles. I kind of understand how members can be upset about that rule suddenly being enforced but the rules for story titles have always been the same and I still have to deal with people arguing with me over them.

I also don't like how one blog about the staff and something that's happened can start a whole riot on Mibba. When the pen drops, it suddenly goes from one thing to twenty different things we do wrong and I don't like how the staff in general aren't treated like human beings. I also don't like the fact that there are some people that believe you get special treatment when you're "in" with the staff. Not even fellow staff members get special treatment, so I don't understand where this rumor even comes from.

All my dislikes have to do with how staff is treated, oops. Granted I've felt this way before I was a part of the staff.

I agree with you whole heartedly. Most of my dislikes were always about how ridiculously the staff were treated, that was before I was with staff, while I was part of staff, and still now after I'm not staff anymore.

When I was part of staff I could read the condescension in people's messages towards me. Not only that but when I had to read blogs that were about me, but there wasn't anything that I could do about it because I wasn't named was just kind of... mind-blowing.

And I still laugh at the "special treatment." I never got any. When I was part of staff my stories weren't automatically loved, recced, and reviewed. If I made a mistake that broke the rules, I got a message from a fellow staffer. If anything, being part of the staff means the rules will be forced even harsher on yourself since you have to set an example.

The blog title drama was just an example off the top of my head but the "riots" are basically what I was referring too when I said people overreact to the rules tehe It just irks me how some people act like the staff are dictators trying to oppress everyone.

I don't so much think of the staff as dictators, but, as one who has rallied against the rules before, I see them as people who have to enforce an unfortunate set of stupid rules. Rules are necessary, yes. But some are down-right stupid. One shots can't be put together as one story with chapters? Stupid. You must have a generic profile! Stupid. There are hundreds of other examples but those the ones that comes to mind off the top of my head. And yes, despite what others say, some do get singled out as "troublemakers". Heaven forbid anyone stand up for the user base; you get threatened with being banned.

So, while I don't agree that the staff are dictators, I do think they should employ common sense when it comes to enforcing the rules. Enforce the important ones, but not the stupid ones. And yes, everyone is going to disagree on what a stupid rule is. But if you have more than five people saying 'this rule is stupid', that's a clue. And yes, they do hand out special treatment. I've seen it. But of course, they deny, deny, deny.

So, yes, people getting super worked up is ridiculous, but there are times when we're worked up for good reason, we're just not being heard.

I have no problem with people disagreeing with the rules. God knows I don't agree with them all, but my point is there are other ways to go about a disagreement than creating an uproar in the blog section and portraying the staff as dictators like a lot of people have done in the past. I know not everyone that doesn’t agree with the rules is like this but unfortunately the ones that are tend to be the loudest.

The generic profiles weren't the staff though, that was Dujo, and that's not something, to my knowledge, they can change.

You're right and that was perhaps a poor example. But it's what came to mind. And frankly, he could change that by LISTENING to his user base. Which no one does much of these days. Some do, most don't and often nothing changes.

For the "generic" profiles bit, that was changed because for some people, custom profiles wouldn't load or it would cause their browser to crash and whatnot. Some people have computers that are old, or they could be using a public one at school or a library.

So I'm not too bothered by it because now there isn't much of a stigma against Mibbians without a custom profile. Hell, I barely used the custom profile CSS / HTML coding when it was the default profile so it doesn't bother me. Most writing websites don't even have profiles that could be customized like a Myspace profile circa the early 2000s. Maybe there could be an option to toggle being able to view profiles as the customized profile? Think

Well, there is our little tab on our pictures right next to our comments that will take someone directly to someone's custom profile. Other than that I would hate to have to switch to basic every time I went to a person's profile. Ugh. I remember before those things were taken away... I would have to maximize my page to 300% to attempt to try and find a link to a story. @_@ Or select all the text because apparently light grey on white text is visible at size 9.5? Phew... I love the basic pretty layouts *_* they are so lowkey and just... neat. It's like going to a store with everything shelved right, just a sigh of relief.
That sometimes signatures look weird when you preview it in a comment or on the previewer so then you fix that in the preview but when you apply it, it's off and you should have just left it alone. lulz. Would be nice if those two things would sync up.

Yeah, I realized the palette does that, but I was thinking it's like having the already existing option of hiding / showing signatures (post design, right?) that is accessible via our own Mibba accounts. Since some people do have that issue of not having their custom profile showing and they want it visible to themselves and others who may want to see it while logged into their respective accounts. Just a thought. Scooter I remember that whole black background (without a neutral or white text box) and white font or yellow font. The crazy GIFs and blends just nearly burning my eyes because of sensory overload. Ah. OMFG

Basic layouts are great and simple to assemble as well as appreciate. Cool
The fact that I cannot master the art of the staff robot language. I try. I really do. Sad

Lmao, oh man, the gif backgrounds... or the ones that were DEEP DARK BLACK... AND BRIGHT BRIGHT RED FONT. Like you slay me this time, Mibbian. I couldn't think of what the thing in the corner was called... reminds me of paint swatches and I didn't want to sound like a DA saying that.

The Robot Language is acquired when you reach 1900 points. Read it in the TSA.

All this talk about HTML profiles makes me want an HTML profile but it's a lot harder now that they've mashed HTML and CSS into one massive box. dujo fix yer site

It has been said about a trillion times, but the lag is infuriating. Coupled with my shitty laptop, I can't seem to open any messages or if they open, they take about 30+ minutes to load, I'm trying to comment on contest entries and all that's happening is I'm getting that 'there was an error processing the form' message and the admin panel is running like shit. Mibba, I love you dearly but please stop acting like this or you and me will be having fallings out. Coffee

I have to copy everything to my clipboard before submitting it. That's my secret to avoiding lag deletion! Also the fact that signature preview isn't the same as signature on the boards. That's infuriating. And how they look different cross-device so my nice rectangle is a sloppy crap heap on some devices!
