I wish you could block certain people from commenting on your stories and blogs and things.
I always used to maintain that this would cause problems within the community but after coming back to Mibba recently, I kind of agree with you. Having the ability to block someone from commenting on the things you post would probably be a big help in keeping the peace on Mibba.

Too many people are looking for feedback, and not enough people are willing to give it. A few years ago, my crappiest story would still get maybe three or four comments with each update. Today, my greatest story ever gets a couple of reccs at most, unless I go out looking for a comment swap.

You'd think with all the snow the east coast of the u.s has been getting there'd be more Americanns coming on here to do whatever! Unless mibbians are in stalker mode! Shocked Cheese

I've just tried posting a blog entry. I had to write at least 100 words, even though the update about my re-edited book took but a few words to make the point. Sort it out Mibba!

If feedback is equally important why do you want a way for people to avoid giving feedback?

Quizilla had a rating system. You could rate on a scale of 1-5 how much you enjoyed each chapter. Mibba is against negative feedback unless it is constructive criticism... so my suggestion for a 'like' button would provide a quick way to show you enjoy the content of a chapter without any negative implications. My idea isn't to provide a way for readers to avoid giving feedback, but to provide an additional/alternative feedback option.

My last story, a tragic romance, took about two weeks to complete. I had 80+ readers, 25 subscribers, 5 recommendations, and only 1 person who commented. I know mental illness and sex scenes appealed to her - but the other 24 subscribers' motivations are lost on me. My new zombie story has 5 readers, 2 subscribers, 1 rec, and 0 comments - obviously this story isn't capturing Mibba readers' attention. If your content is attracting readers, it improves your chances of finding those who are willing to comment and critique your writing.

I feel it is important to write for yourself and fulfill your own interests/aspirations/motivations, but when seeking feedback in a public forum it's good to work with and around your audience. I suppose that's my marketing background talking. I think I'll check out your writing. Smile I comment! lol

I like the idea of a like button. I like to provide con crit, but people often find me too harsh. I'm used to critiquing friends and fellow professional writers who want complete honesty. Therefore, I don't leave feedback much anymore, as it's falling on deaf ears, as it were. But a like button would be handy for readers who might not know what to comment or, who, like me, are no longer willing to leave comments and they are often unwanted and frequently criticized.

I hate the idea of a like button. I already dislike the "recommend" feature because it feels like a lazy way of giving a writer some feedback without it being personal. I can't say for sure because I just don't have the stats and don't think anyone does but it feels like the rec feature here killed commenting a fair bit. All those people that might have left a small comment like "subscribed!" or "update soon!" etc. I feel now use the rec button to give their feedback, which is fine, but it means they'll never know how much a comment really can mean to an author, even if it's something so tiny.

I'm subscribed to this! I haven't read through it yet because I haven't had the time but I will and when I do, if I like it and continue with it, I always leave comments and rec, for those that like that feature. I'm fairly sure I'll be commenting ;)

I sometimes don't like the way Mibba is full of all these different sorts of authors and readers nowadays. It feels like there are still people here that comment, but I feel like it's usually the writers, themselves, that leave the more thoughtful comments. I feel like there's this ever-growing group of members that are exclusively readers and as such, they don't understand the importance of comments to authors. I dunno.

Having to constantly click the recc and sub button. Why is it that after submitting a comment, we have to click the recc and sub twice? I've subbed and recced once and then when the comment goes through, it shows that i haven't subbed or recced the story. Think

I tend not to fully trust what the button says on the actual story itself. It's better if you check your subscription tab/recommendations tab and wait a moment or two to see whether it's been processed.

If someone is subscribed, there is a good chance they don't dislike it. Why would they keep reading it? And what more feedback would you get from a like than a "I want to keep reading this story so much I subscribed".

The fact that the messages are so laggy (and nothing will send) and that Mibba won't allow people to accept co-author requests or let me re-send those requests when Mibba has deleted them.

Definitely the lag not allowing me to delete stories. Like why must it take forever to delete one story or a blog even?

I have to say that sometimes there are small things that I don't like, lately maybe its just me, but mibba can be pretty dead. A lot of people don't really update anymore and its pretty sad, there's really good and well written stories out there. I just want to keep reading! I don't like the small glitches that happen but hey its the internet things happen. :) other then that I think mibba isn't bad at all. :)

How Mibba is so slow at times. Then if I try to rec/subscribe a story/blog/poem it doesn't always work. I also can't send messages. Oh, and it likes to post then reload slow which usually ends up with multiple posts. Otherwise that's all I dislike.
