Many people are convinced Love, Lacey is based on a true story. I'm sorry to say they are quite mistaken. :|

I like it when people interpret things differently, but it kinda makes me mad...
Like the fact that they thought something that I didn't think of.
It's kinda hard to explain, but I feel like they know the story better than me almost.

People often describe my stories as "sweet, but in a sad way" which is exactly what I go for. :)

I don't think people really understand it at all.
I mean they do, in a way, but they never understand to the full extent.
I got a short comment that praised the first 2 chapters, but "chapter 3 didn't really make sense," when in actuality it made perfect sense. To me at least.

My favorite book I am writing right now is One Black Wish, and it is abusive, my cousin says I need therapy. I am not really going for that vibe though lmfao Its sad, sorta tragic, but according to my friends who have given me reviews, it keeps you on your seat, my friend Jewel can't put it down. Nyam

I love to leave my writing up to interpretation. It's the same way with music and visual arts, why not with literature? I trust the reader to be intelligent enough to comprehend the plot (the physical plot, if that makes any sense) and I don't mind discussing that with people and tell them when they're wrong, but what they get out of it is up to the person.

There are certain times when I also leave certain holes in the plot purposely that everyone is going to fill differently. I don't mind.

I like to write things that confuse people. tehe

One person thought that Affinity is about an abusive relationship. If there is any abuse in that story, it is very much self inflicted.

I've had people try to psychoanalyze my poetry where there's been nothing to analyze. It amuses me that other people give deeper meanings to things that are simply stories for the sake of telling a story. It's interesting to see what other people think was going through my mind when I wrote something. I don't usually think in terms of symbolism or deeper meanings, I only sometimes use extended metaphors.

I get this a lot on my stories. I detest symbolism. It's not fun for me to read a book and then be told I need to pick it apart into layers. But apparently I use a lot symbolism without meaning to. tehe

Well, someone compared a story I wrote to Twilight, expecting me to take it as a compliment.

Someone compared my story to Twilight as an insult. I haven't even read Twilight, but I definitely took it as an insult.

All of my friends think there's seriously something wrong with me when they read my stuff because the majority of my (non-fanfiction) writing deals with darker issues and subject matter. Such as rape, abuse, etc.

Especially when they read something I've written and I say how proud I was with the way the story came out, they take that to mean I enjoy writing about these kinds of things - as if I love it when people are actually being abused, that that must be the reason I write it.

So I don't let my friends read my stuff anymore.

I never let my friends in high school read my stuff because I didn't trust them to actually grasp what it was about. I figured they'd just see two guys in a relationship and squick. I was right.

Somebody called Brendan in Renny Boy a creeper, and it made me laugh. I love to see how people interpret my characters even if I never intended for them to be how they see them. XD

Same goes here. I hate tearing a story apart with all of it's layers, but 95% of the time I'm using symbolism in my stories.

I've let my best friend look over some of my stuff and she says I have a messed up head, but that's only because she's read my smuts... tehe

Many people here comment and say that it's adorable - not the smuts, I've only posted half of the one's I've written - which is pretty much what I'm going for. Writing those "Aw!" moments is what I do best. Cute

This really hasn't happened much with me. xD I read one of my major stories to my brother, and at one part I pointed out that there was a lot of symbolism in this scene. He tried to figure it out, but his interpretation was different (though not entirely) from my own.

In that same story, it was kind of weird when my brother finally found out the main character was a "bad guy". Because I had written it in the antagonists perspective, my bro automatically assumed he had good intentions, even though he went insane and killed people and stuff. It was probably because I wrote out the character's motives... But yeah. It was funny because of how shocked he was, and I knew this all the time.

It's normal for this to happen. Because there's a difference between the author, and the speaker. The author is you, your words, your reason for writing, what it means to you. But the speaker is the voice that reads it for then reader. So it's how they interpret it, and what sort of message and feeling they get from it.

And yes, it happens to me a lot. Sometimes I like to hear what others have to say about it, but other times, I get frustrated because they don't get my point. But poetry is poetry, and that's how it works.

I actually love writing one-shots and drabbles that are fairly open (or even completely open, although I tend to fail at writing stuff that open) to interpretation. Like I really like writing about a vague concept or even a specific plot but leaving out details just so the reader can fill them in however they will. Feedback on those types of works always fascinates and amuses me the most.

Although, I find even feedback on works that are not planned as being so open to interpretation can provide me with interesting and/or helpful insight from time to time, which is also a pretty great feeling.

When I was writing A Little Bit Louder Now!, which was a sequel to another story, a lot of interpretations I got were so off-base, to put it lightly. XD I got several comments asking if Ty and Sam were gonna become lovers, and there were others who thought June and Jamie were going to turn lesbian and fall in love.

The answer was right there. It's as clear as daylight. It's the most predictable story I have. XD It definitely makes me rethink the way I wrote it though - I didn't think I put that much "mystery" into it, and even reading over it, I can't really see what they see. But it was still fun to see people's reactions while I was writing it. tehe

I had this really awkward review on FF.net asking if in The Last Fight if Jen and Lance would get together because they'd be "cute."
Um, well... if abuse/stalking/rape is cute... Shifty

I dunno if it was something I wrote, or... ? But the interpretation seems to be off in that respect. XD
Though, a lot of my readers finally realized that Jen was a bitch, so that made me happy xD
