I had a pretty messed up childhood and have been phrased as emotionally abused. It took it's toll on me too.
But it seems to have manifested itself differently than it has to you.

My father was/is slightly emotionally abusive, but he never went/goes over the top. A little but expecting and dissapproving (especially my tastes in mysic), but nothing too big. But a bitch at school crossed that line between sane and insanity and took me down with her...I'll tell you that story later.
