to be honest, it wasn't a book that made me want to write, it was ryan ross.
it was, however, chuck palahniuk that made me put my foot down, and decided to take writing seriously. i had read invisable monsters and choke by him, but i think guts was the story that pushed me over the edge. it is now my all time favourite short story.

I think this is really interesting. No book made me want to be a writer. I began writing little reports or assignments at a young age and it was amazing. I loved it. My 3rd and 4th grade teachers encouraged me to continue. Told me I was an advanced writer for my age. =]

Honestly it was Jane Austen's Sense and sensibilty I read it a few years ago When i was prob about 13 or 14 and I was going through a really rough time then, well anyways no matter how bad I was feeling all I had to do was open up that book and it was like I was transported to another place and I forgot about all my problems. I have always loved reading but half way through that book I just realized that I want to be able to do that for people too and that I was meant to be a writer. Im still far from being a professional writer or a published author but Im working towards my goal. Smile

Batman: HUSH and All Star Batman And Robin have re-inspired me to write XD

Which is a god-send considering I'd applied to do a writing degree and just stopped writing lmfao

My best Friend got me into reading when she took me to the site quizzila. Then she told me about the book Twilight, witch got me more into reading. Then I read the book eragon. I thought it was amazing and for some reason I read about the author of the book. Witch I never did before. His books and him just amazed me. It was so interesting to me how someone could make up a whole new world or just a person with a story never told before, put it into words for the world to read. Anyway that's what made me want to write.

It wasn't a book really - it was a person. In elementary school we had this lady named Mrs. Papale who would come into our classes every Tuesday and Thursday and read aloud to us. She was very old but the way she articulated her words and sentences and painted a picture for us to see inspired me to write.

    R.I.P. Mrs. Papale.

I remember reading the Harry Potter and Redwall series. I think they influenced me to try. The rest of it is thanks to my ex-best friend. We used to write stories together, and, even though they sucked, it made me want to improve and keep trying. And my teachers will never know how helpful they were.

I think...Harry Potter got me started writing and inspired me to think you can do great things no matter what your situation, but I think I got serious when I read the His Dark Materials series. I don't really know though, it's kind of hard to pick XD

I can't really remember the book that really started me wanting to write, but I know the one that makes me buckle down every time ever since I got it last August, even though I had been writing for a year before that.
    Shiver by Maggie Stiefvater.
Her descriptions are so refreshing, and the short stories I've seen her write in between her normal writing is phenomenal.
She herself has really inspired me this past year to do better, and develop my writing more.

I wanted to write since I was 8. I wanted to write because I loved a TV show called
Arthur so I began writing stories about this TV show. Then as life continued I made up my own stories in my head.

Twilight. Twilight by Stephenie Meyer. It was actually that entire saga actually.

But it never made me want to write twilight characters. Those are annoying nowadays.

Im mostly into poetry and have been since a published poet (can't remember his name - i was only 9) came to my primary school and I participated in a poetry workshop. I got a signed copy of a collection of his, and since then I wrote things on and off, and I started doing it all again about a year ago.

Books that have pushed me on have been all the fairy tales I was read as a kid, poets like Robert Louis Stevenson, Edgar Allan Poe, Carol Ann Duffy and Robert Browning, and mostly Shakespeare plays. Although my inspiration can come from just about anywhere

TBTH! (to be totally honest) JUNIE B. JONES!!! they were the books the made me fall in love with reading. i was (i think) in the 4th grade maybe when i actually wrote a letter to Barbara Park about my do's and dont's about the series. I actually sent in my own very first story to her as well and made recommendations for some stories she can have Junie B. have. lol i had guts.

but yeah it wasnt until a couple years later i actually started writing as a stress relief and to clear all the stowed away daydreams out my head.

I had always been interested in writing, and had started writing when I was 8, but I never really thought I would become a writer, I always just wanted to be an artist, nothing more; that was until I read The Great Gatsby after I read that book I literally went out, bought a notebook and started to write.

Harry Potter was the first book I read in grade 4, and was the first series I read that changed my life in grade 10. I think Harry Potter initially made me want to write but it was Sarah Dessen's this lullaby that helped me realise I wanted to be an Author.

I've always wanted to be a writer, but never actually started planning novels and the like and beginning to take the dream seriously until I read through the entire Harry Potter series, 1-5 and then 6 when it was released that summer, in about two weeks. JK Rowling made me realize that being an author was what I really wanted needed to do.
