Polgara from The Belgariad, The Malloreon and Polgara the Sorceress . I liked most of the characters from David Eddings books but I like her the most. I just liked her personality; the way she was, how she acted, everything.

Such wonderful characters in spite of their flaws
I love Theon (if you don't feel the need to strangle or slap characters at good chunks of the time, then what's the point?), but literally every time I see his name my brain does this D:

I find I like many characters from books, they are always so easy to attach to.

-Sam Roth, from 'The Wolves of Mercy Falls' trilogy [Shiver, Linger, Forever] by Maggie Stiefvater. I admire him because he is very passionate, attractive [as so described in the book], kind, thoughtful, and so much more. He has qualities I would look for in a man of interest in this world.

-William Herondale, from 'The Infernal Devices' trilogy [Clockwork Angel, Clockwork Prince, Clockwork Princess] by Cassandra Clare. Like, Sam, he is passionate and attractive, though he is instantly more sarcastic than Sam. He also has magical powers, which I like :)

-John Willoughby, from 'Sense and Sensibility' by Jane Austen. He is described to be a handsome, young man who seems somewhat thoughtful. For some reason, while reading, I just get so happy whenever I read his name in any scene with him included.

-Ponyboy and Sodapop Curtis, from 'The Outsiders' by S.E. Hinton. These brothers just make me so dandy whenever I read about them! They are so brave, passionate, and loyal. Not to mention adorable, they are.

-Tom Riddle, from 'Harry Potter' by J.K. Rowling. He basically just intrigues me throughout The Chamber of Secrets and reading up on his history on wiki, it really touches my heart with his past events that haunt him so. Everything about Tom, I like.

-Roy Borden, from 'The Voice of the Night' by Dean Koontz. Roy is said to be very attractive, which I obviously like, but nonetheless he is the most popular kid in town. I don't much like the popular kids, but since this book was written somewhere around the 80s, it doesn't bother me with the fact that everybody knew Roy in the town the book took place in. He is a maniac, believe me, but I like guys [in books or movies only] who are insane in the brain. ;)

Oh my gosh! My friends and I are in love with Tyson from the Percy Jackson by Rick Riordan series. Fell in love with him! I also love Damon from The Vampire Diaries by L. J. Smith. He's freaking amazing! Ooh, ooh! Who else do I like? I like Wanderer from The Host by Stephenie Meyers. Just the way she's so sensitive to everything.

    But mostly Tyson. XD

Sadly, they tend to be characters from my guilty pleasure fantasy novels. When I was younger, Tory from the Ancient Future and Celestial Triad trilogies, definitely. She's so unrealistic though -laugh- I never noticed until I was older, how sort of fantasy-Mary-Sue her character is. Everyone falls madly in love with her, she's good at everything, her flaws are strengths or quirks, she embodies all nobility and goodness - I mean, it fits in with the idea of faith and power within the series, but I would probably be horribly cringing if I re-read today. A lot of reviews for it are positively scathing. -smileshrug-

But yeah without really thinking about it, I'd say the Fool from the Farseer and Tawny Man trilogies. He's just this detached, mysterious, flawed figure. He's supposed to always be reliable and always have the answers, but really all he has is love (and a little bit of magic.) Not even as much has the protagonist.) (Who, incidentally, is one of my least favourite of all book characters, the whining pup.)

I think because those novels are so likeable themselves, it's easy to like the characters you like, and hate the bad guys. In more complex novels, you might absolutely unreservedly love the book, but the characters are real, complicated, involved; probably not 'likeable' in the same way. They don't always make the right choices, they remind us that people are flawed - it's tougher to appreciate them in the carefree way that simpler texts achieve.

Jace from The Mortal Instruments series. I just love how he cares for his loved ones and his sarcastism and along with his humor. And there really isn't a reason to not love him. He is simply amazing.

James 'Jem' Carstairs from teh Infernal Devices Series
    Finnick Odiar
    Alcide Hereaux

I love Jem for his careful and sweet nature, and Finnick for his charisma, and Alcide because he's so sweet and kind and sexy werewolf all at the same time.

Cersei, Jaime, and Tyrion Lannister in A Song of Ice and Fire. Lannisters are love. They're complicated, and that's the way I like it.

Sam, Gandalf, Pippin in Lord of the Rings. Bilbo, Gandalf, and Gollum in The Hobbit. Tolkien's characters tend to make my heart swell.
