I just recently pretty much cried for a while after listening to Because of you- Kelly Clarkson. Some people might go "eww that's an old song." but it really made me cry. There was so many things about that song that made me think about my shitty life. I never realized how much it seemed as if she was singing my life story. Even if I just read the lyrics, it makes me cry for a while. Now, everytime I hear that song, I practically bawl my eyes out.

Unless I'm in public, that's just embarassing.

So what exactly gets you emotional?
Oh my gosh. Me too! I bawl everytiime I watch the video, I don't know what it is, but it hits a nerve or two. :/

Let Love In by A Cursive Memory. It's so beautiful and sad. I don't quite know exactly what it is about that song, but I just can't listen to it without crying more than I should. I think it's because I know it's so pretty and it can't go on forever no matter how much I wish it could.

Music, both because of the power it can hold over my emotions just based on it's sound, and the ties that many songs hold for me to certain memories of the past...

Also a few very specific movies.

The song 'Second Star to the Right' by Jonatha Brooke, from the movie Peter Pan. It makes me bawl whenever I hear it and it's one of my favourites, it reminds me of when I was a kid and how everything was so innocent then. I sound like a baby but I usually cry when I watch the movie, 'cos I was so convinced he was real XD

A lot of my favourite songs remind me of my childhood though, mostly because they were my favourites as a kid too.

Bleeding Love by Leona Lewis. Just... yeah. It hurts to listen to it, even though it sounds so pretty and I love that song, I just feel the heartache.

The Perks of Being a Wallflower has made me cry a couple times.

"Runnin' Down a Dream" by Tom Petty, and "Losing My Religion" by REM always get me emotional because they're songs I used to listen to with my dad...

I once nearly cried watching the last episode of The Young Ones when they all fall off a cliff and die, haha. but I was pretty sleep deprived at the time :P

Schindler's List/Schindler's Ark. I know everyone cries at Holocaust books but I wasn't really crying for the obvious reasons. Schindler's life goes downhill after the war, and that was really upsetting because he had been such a hero. I don't think I could read the last chapter again without getting overly emotional.

Hah, a lot of things can make me cry. ;)

Toy Story 3. I bawled my EYES out in the movie theatre - I felt like my childhood was ending. It was a fantastic film, but just...I don't know. It was the end of an era. And other movies, too...mostly family films. I cried at Tangled, at the end, and Home Alone just makes me so thankful for my parents and siblings. I don't know. I'm a sucker for good family film. (This includes Bambi, which I can't ever watch without tearing up.)

As for songs...a lot. I will cry just if something has a really pretty chord progression, and I don't know why! Like Moon River from Breakfast at Tiffany's. Just so damn beautiful. And really corny, really old songs...like Honey or The Autumn of My Life by Bobby Goldsboro. It's stupid, but they're so great. Earth Song, by Michael Jackson - that's powerful.

I don't know, anything that sounds pretty can make me cry because I'm one of those people that will listen to music (even without words) on repeat just because I like the chords.
