Muse kind of annoys me too. I don't call them sell-outs just because they were on the Twilight soundtrack (Yak) but their songs, overall, just sound overdone and over...dramatic, I think that's the word I'm looking for.

^ That's pretty much the point of Muse. Dramatic = them. I mean, how many other bands have written a symphony? XD. Not all of their songs are 'dramatic', as you say. Some of them are rather sweet and underdone, imho.

OKAY. I'm not going to get defensive here. I refuse. Twitch.

You know who I really don't like? My Chemical Romance. I just don't understand them. Shifty. *hides*

But I'm with you on Radiohead.
You mean you like Radiohead, right? Or did I imply in this thread that I didn't like them? OMG NO! If so, it was a mistake. I really love them.
    Matthew Bellamy.:
I actually don't mind. XD I'm just utterly confused as to how Matt's voice can irritate anyone.
I really like Muse but Matt's voice annoys me at times. lmfao

Also, not a band or solo artist, but the song Airplanes by B.o.B. (Yes, even the Hayley Williams part.)

I didn't particularly like their newest song, Neutron Star Collision, but Matt's voice was quite nice, imo. tehe.

I no longer hate Lady Gaga, fyi.

And I like beyonce and Justing Timberlake.
Not hate, but to the people I know, those opinions are ... unpopular.

    Lets see. Dislike.
    Uh...
    Rihanna
Tokio Hotel (I like two of their songs though)
early Avenged Sevenfold (City of Evil was pretty good and their self-titled was awesome, everything else, not so much...)
    Bullet For My Valentine
    Paramore
    Coheed and Cambria
    HIM
    Bring Me The Horizon
    The Devil Wears Prada

A lot of my friends love them to bits but literally every time one of their songs comes on I pull this face: Twitch.

There's a lot of bands I dislike, but they're actually one of those few bands I actually can't stand to listen to. Shifty

    Billie Joe Armstrong:
The idea of "selling out" , to me anyway, is when a band stops caring about making music that means something to them and starts making music to make money. The money and fame is all they care about, not the music, not the fans, not the world around them...

    ...

They made a musical? Who cares? They did something out of the norm. Something different and original. Something that most people would never think of doing. And they were completely involved with it from the planning to the execution of the musical. Billie co-wrote the book with Michael Mayer. He didn't just sign rights over and ask for a check, y'know?
I really agree with you. Personally, I'm not the biggest Green Day fan, but I really think it's cool that they did a musical. I don't think it was selling out. I mean, Tom Waits has done two musicals, I think (he just wrote the music, though). I don't think he's sold out because of that. Shifty

I think it's really easy to think that a band has sold out when they're only evolving. Especially when you get bands/artists that have been around as long as Green Day or even Tom Waits.

Green Day has been around for 20 years. They've gotten older, gotten married, had children. Of course some of their views and opinions and experiences are going to change, and of course that's going to translate -at least a little bit- into their music. A lot of people accused Tom Waits of selling out after Swordfishtrombones, when in all reality, he had just grown out of his barfly stage and into a healthier time in his life. His music changed to reflect that. People change, musicians are people, so of course it's going to translate into their music. XD

^Yeah, I agree. When you've been around for that long, you have to change your sound and do something new or else you'll get sick of doing it and it won't be fun anymore. David Bowie was a hit with Ziggy Stardust, but he didn't stay glamrock for more than..what? Two albums? It's like what Painc At The Disco said about their second album. They didn't want to be stuck with a bunch of songs they wrote when they were seventeen.

Adding Paramore to my list. It's not that I don't like them, it's the fact that the majority of their songs all sound exactly the same. I can listen to about one or two songs before it just gets samey and boring.
    ^This.

    Tokio Hotel
    Justin Beiber
    Ke$ha
    Miley Cyrus
    Selena Gomez
    Jonas Brothers
    Most rap except Eminem
    Most country

It's not that I hate them, I just dislike them.

I can see why people don't like MCR and A7x. They are a bit overrated. But they have good music, and that's what counts.

HOW CAN THE FIRST PERSON HATE ESCAPE THE FATE?! THEY ARE AMAZING! AUGHHHH! Rant done.

^I don't like MCR because of the Way brothers basically.
I think their guitar is pretty good and from the live videos I've seen, Ray and Frank have some semblance of stage presence.

I don't like Gerard's voice. In fact, I'm not even sure why I liked it in the first place. Think

and the utter lack of bass guitar in MCR songs is just. Facepalm The only album you hear the bass is in the first one, the other 2 it's nearly nonexistent. And I love bass, a lot, it's my favourite instrument. They should embrace it more and not leave all the work to the guitarists and drummer.

I like A7X, I've seen them live twice and they've got great stage presence. I'm just iffy on Matt's voice sometimes. It is a bit nasally, so I can understand why someone wouldn't like it. But musically? They're incredible.

^I agree. It's the fact that they have impacted so many people's lives is awesome. That's where I give them most of my respect.

Synyster Gates and Zacky Vengence are super talented guitar players. They're half of the reason of why I listen to A7x.

^I saw A7X right when those rumors about Matt not being able to scream were going around, and I will be the first to say those rumors were, and still are, complete bogus. He sings the same live as he does on a CD, and the entire band is just epic. But that's my opinion, and you're all entitled to yours as well. ^_^ I just don't understand how anyone can't love them, or at least really like them. =)

    - - - - -

I used to be huge on MCR, but I'm semi-dubious on their new record. I haven't really followed them for about a year or so, and after Bob l got really doubtful that the new stuff will be up to the standards their old stuff is. I'm not saying I dislike them, because I do like their old stuff, I'm just not sure their new stuff is going to be very good.

Well that can be said for everyone mentioned on this thread. I'm quite sure every band and artist here has changed and impacted fans of their music's lives.

But this thread is mostly about not liking their music (or liking a band or artist that gets a lot of hate's music). It has nothing to do with artists impact on fans.

Well, if you think about it, MCR has had a HUGE impact on society.

    Let's get back on track.

I can see why people don't like Gerard's voice. And to be honest, some of their songs on TCFSR sound the same. I shouldn't be talking, though. I'm a fan of theirs. Those are just a few things I don't like about them.

I don't see how they've had a huge impact on society at large, just their fanbase.
I mean, I've seen Metallica listed on here a few times, they've had an impact on a lot more people than MCR, just saying...

People just post here because they don't like the music, not the bands cultural impact, savvy?

    Owl City
    Saosin
    Senses Fail

I've seen all of them live, too, as support acts. *shivers* There's a couple more I can't think of right now, but I just have bands that I simply don't like. There's no real reason for it, I just... don't like them. I usually respect music even if I dislike it, but these bands just.... just no. Just stop, please. I guess it's just a lack of connection to the music (or a grudge. I have a grudge against Yashin especially. I'm so judgemental XD)

Other bands I don't not like in the same way but don't particularly like listening to are Green Day and Blink 182. I don't know why, I mean, they have some songs I like and that I'll listen and sing along to, but I don't understand the fuss they have. It's okay, but it's overrated. Like people flailing over the Blink reunion and wanting to go see them just because it's Blink... I'd much rather save my money and time, thanks. Oh, also really kinda trendy and stereotypical, but I didn't like the 'new' MCR wave thing. The did change their style, and I just wasn't a fan of it. Tis all.

I think there's a loose pop-punk, 'emo-esque' theme going on here, actually... XD
