Well I usually get inspiration after listening to music or after seeing a movie. Most of the time I have to be in the 'writing mood' though.

My writing moods (or creative moods in general) always seem to be amplified when I'm listing to some kind of Classical music. Vivaldi's Four Seasons works best for most ideas and essays, I've found, whereas Beethoven's Moonlight Sonata has been doing wonders for my current story.

A random thought. They usually end up as the first/last line of my stories. Just sitting and thinking is the best inspiration, especially if you're not thinking about writing tehe

Pretty much anything can inspire me. Beautiful scenery mainly, and especially when the sun is shining low in the sky to make it look even more stunning. The beach often gives me lots of ideas, and lakes. Water in general when it's lit up by the sun and has a really beautiful forest background is my dream for writing. I went to the Forest of Dean a few years ago, and that was one of the most inspirational and amazing places I've been for writing. I don't even need a plot, since the scenery itself is enough to spark my interest and imagination.

Plots themselves usually come to me by accident, or plant into my head after an event happens to me. I get some good inspiration from dreams too.

Depends. Right now because I'm in NaNo mode, almost everything is an inspiration to me. For this particular plot, I'm listening to a lot of jazz/swing, and watching films like An Education. It's really lovely, and it's putting me in the right mood.

Opening up 8tracks and going into my 'writing' playlists. Songs full of vivid imagery and a good beat never fail to get my fingers typing. Also a movie that has good narration that gives me goosebumps. Very Happy

I love the sea. I hardly ever get to go there, so I write about it all the time. Just being around scenery makes me want to write, but I don't find inspiration necessary for writing.

Fresh cups of tea, raindrops dripping down window panes, my 'inspiring' playlist (which features Ben Howard, Mumford & Sons, Coldplay, Alex Clare, City and Colour, Gabrielle Alpin, Noah and the Whale, Of Monsters and Men, Laura Marling and a whole load more) the inspiration tag on Tumblr, staying up late, just staring out of windows, picking books from around my house and reading from random pages, this blog, going for walks and mid-afternoon naps.

^ I know that I had some really deep thoughts just laying on my couch and boom story idea, so that's very true to me.

Big events in real life that affect a large group of people around me. Like, I know it's old but the whole religion and gay marriage thing still makes me feel a lot, so I write about it.

Something I read or something someone says that I find incredibly powerful. I was reading through the "Religion and Homosexuality" thread and that inspired me a lot.

Very powerful music, that relates strongly with a little story idea I had began thinking of.

Other stories that really immerse me in the theme and make me think and rethink about it.

My dreams inspire me a lot. I have written many stories based on them. Also past memories that fascinate me. I have daydreamed A LOT ever since I was a little girl, so that too. Nature and music probably inspire me the most. Especially rainy forest imagery and post-hardcore music.

When it comes to writing Generation Why Bother, I listen to a lot of pop-punk, swing, and ska, mainly Four Year Strong, Say Anything, Streetlight Manifesto, The Story So Far, The Hives, blink-182, Dance Gavin Dance...well, there's a whole playlist. Watching old cartoons helps, because it goes along with the whole Johnny Cool side-plot. I also watch live performances of those bands in order to get a feel for how a band moves onstage, since theatrics is such a huge part for Put'emup, Put'emup's repertoire.

Music is my main inspiration for just about anything. I'm obsessed with it, and being a keen musician myself, I can relate the patterns in the music to actual visual patterns. Sometimes they're completely abstract, sometimes they're characters and plot lines, or even a form of scenery.

Which brings me onto the other thing that inspires me - nature. Anything to do with waterfalls, forests and rivers tend to spark something off. The Truth is a story that was inspired by me visiting a place that had a forest, a waterfall AND a river all in one place! I just find places like that peaceful and truly beautiful. Cute

In order to really get into what i'm writing I have to be listening to music. And usually music is the thing that gets me thinking about new ideas.
Movies have always been the same way too. It's like one scene from a movie, or one song, will spark an idea for a super long story, haha. Music is definitely the biggest inspiration though. It gives me ideas, and helps me focus.

Mostly music. I get inspiration from random lines from songs or even entire albums which, as a music student, I assume is pretty typical. I also like to look at photographs and imagine the story behind the image, so that's a pretty big inspiration as well.

All I can say is: too damn much lmfao

Every single little thing brings a story idea into my head, and I'd be lying if I said it wasn't overwhelming and distracting at times. Hell, I'm working on a oneshot inspired by snickerdoodle cookies right now XD

Anything can inspire me to be honest. Right now, I'm inspired by the movie Frozen, mostly Elsa because of her differences. It sparked an idea in me and got me to think of a story somewhat based on her story, but it's not exact and focuses more on autism.

My biggest inspiration is music and my boyfriend. <3

Movies inspired me. Also, I generally am inspired to write based upon what's going on internally and how I am feeling. I write really ambiguous things for the most part because I can't understand myself, but it just feels good to put my feelings into a story. Even if I don't even know what I am exactly feeling lmfao
