    Mr W. H.:
Plus, if you'll only be able to gain a custom rank in exchange for points, I'm sure many people will like to be able to do it for free.
Well, they may want to do it for free, but we're not making that an option. Shifty So, we can't stop people (nor do we really have a desire to) from making their gender or age inaccurate, but we're not gonna give them multiple places for custom ranks.

I think so far the option of hiding your gender is winning out guys.
    Think Is that ok?

^ Maybe I'm too picky, but wouldn't that still erase non-binaries? It gives them the option of not having to be either female or male in the eyes of Mibba, but not the option of actually proclaiming their gender.

I think it's because Dujo would have to completely recode Mibba since it's not going to be the same setup when New Mibba comes.

Well it's not possible to include every gender option, no matter what. I just feel like this wouldn't force people into something, and you have your entire profile to proclaim your gender.

*shurg* Being able to hide gender is good but I still think they should add the option of Non-Binary, it seems a bit more PC than "other" but it still lets people say. I wouldn't use it so I'm not all that worried, but I still think it'd be nice.

I think the reason it's not an option is because the New Mibba won't have "male" and "female". It's just going to have the male and female symbols.

^ Ah, well ok that makes sense. Then if that's the case hiding gender would be the best option.

My guess is no one is going to attempt to do anything to include genders outside the binary since the last post is three years old?

    @ dru is beautiful.

A few times I've actually looked through the admin panel to see if there was a place where we could add in more options or make choosing not mandatory, but I haven't been able to find one. It looks like something Dujo needs to specifically code.

Among other things, I've messaged him about it some time ago, so we'll need to wait until he gets to it.

I'm posting on here just because I see this topic was made four years ago and still has not been addressed. The fact that facebook has multiple gender options before a website that is here to express creative freedom is a little unsettling to me. I identify as Genderqueer and felt uncomfortable that I had to choose my gender as female on here. I don't think "Other" is a good option either, I think that Gender is something that is beyond the traditional roles of male/female and that we need to be inclusive of all the different people who are on here expressing themselves. Please bring this topic back, it needs to be talked about.

We all agree that there should be different options for gender (or, at the least, the option to not choose a gender at all). Unfortunately, none of Mibba's active admins can make those kinds of changes. It can only be done by the site's creator Dujo.

Maybe instead of choosing a gender we could have a section where we can put our pronouns?

Seriously? There's still not an option to identify yourself outside of the binary? Regardless of whether it will happen or not, or will happen in the near future (especially considering this forum is four years old....) I think that the best option would be to provide an area for people to remove a gender marker from their account, as well as the option to use the language they feel most comfortable with when identifying themselves (with or without removing said gender marker). For example, I'm okay with using a male option for myself, but I don't identify wholly as male and would rather offer my pronouns in tandem with a gender marker.

I think that, with the advances a lot of social media have made, it would be best if we just ditched the drop down menu and allowed users to enter their own gender if they wish. We'd probably get a lot more users that way, because I'm sure people who don't know how long it's been since Mibba's been redone turn away because of the binary.

Plus it would be helpful for those of us that have been here because I know from personal experience that seeing a little ♀♂ sign makes me forget sometimes that people have other pronouns because it's right there in my face.
