Does anyone remember watching some interview where they talked about the Kiss You video and Niall said something about there being a Star Wars bit? I kept waiting for that moment and it never happened (though the video was AMAZING without it). And I also heard Harry and Niall were supposed to kiss models in it and I was like:

Anywhoo, with the number of 1D fanfics on here you would think this thread would have like 356 pages on it...

My mom and my stepdad watched it this morning. My mom is in love with Zayn so like, the whole time he was singing she was like...oh my god. (Similar to a 13 year old girl). My stepdad was laughing the whole time and he was like 'this is hysterical, these guys are great'. So it's proven...even 54 year old men think the Kiss You video is beast.

I immediately saw the reference to Jailhouse Rock, but when you mentioned The Beach Boys, I realised that too. The Hawaii Shirts! I can't make out The Monkees though...

It was the black and white. When they were in suits. The ski one and the motorcycle one are references to two 70's groups. I can't remember the name of them though.

Oh wow! I came across an article saying that the video was a homage to certain 60's and 70's movies/ songs. Pretty wicked!

My stepdad is big into 60/70's music so I was like "oh my gosh I know that reference," haha. My little sister didn't get any of them though. I was trying to explain the elvis one because it's probably the most recognisable and she was just staring at me.

I wouldn't blame your sister coz she's younger than you? I'm actually surprised that your knowledge on 60's/70's music is good, seeing that you're pretty young. Heck, I'm born in the 80's and I'm still struggling to decipher which reference is which, haha!

Yeah my sister's 13. She's weird though...like, her favorite singer is Barbra Streisand. When I was younger I listened to a lot of my parent's music. (plus John Denver, who originally did the ski thing in a video, is like my favorite person)

I still don't understand why this thread isn't thriving with the thousands of fan fiction stories on here

I'm with you on this. This thread should have dozens more pages. Maybe people who write the fanfics just don't haunt the forums like I seem to.
