Same here. I was watching a recap of it the other day and I was just like ??? people talk of how strange it is that rape is romanticized (fiction/movies where the character, typically female, is raped/forced into some sexual act but is still in love with her rapist) and I'm sitting here like, why is this also romanticized? Why is it romantic that they killed themselves because they met like two days ago? Sure, being star crossed lovers might be romantic, but suicide isn't. I get that they "couldn't bare to live without each other" but just... what? It's not romantic, it's kind of absurd. But that was then, I don't really know much about the culture. Still, it just has that weird connotation of being romantic when it's honestly not with today's standards. (disclaimer: IMO)

- I absolutely hate the romanticization of Romeo and Juliet. I do not think it is actually a romance. 6 people died because a guy couldn't keep it in his pants. That's what I think of the story.
