..so, my great-grandma passed today. i'm upset about it, yeah, but i feel like i really felt everything hit me - grief, sadness, all of the emotional pain - the night of the last day i saw her in the hospice a few weeks ago; i was a total wreck. ever since, it was like her passing already happened because i already said my goodbye, essentially. (plus i would leave the room if how she was doing came up in conversation because i didn't want to hear any extra bad news.)

i'm just wondering how to cope with it if i'm out, like at school or work. i'm fine if i'm upset at home, but i don't know what to do if i end up thinking about it/getting upset about it while i'm at school/work, and i really don't want to take any time off because exams are in a week and i just recently got the job and don't want to take any more time off than i'll have to for the service.

If I accidently deleted a story, there's no way to get it back, correct?

I'm sorry for your loss :( I think it's a normal reaction to go through a process of grieving before ultimate news / confirmation arrives. In fact, it can make the news a kind of closure, I think. When my grandmother passed, after an extended illness, I was mostly relieved - which sounds awful - but she'd been suffering, and her children had been keeping her here.

Regarding coping with bouts of grief, if you really do not want to take time off, I would speak to your boss and your teacher, in private, about the situation. Either they will recommend/insist that you take time off, or it will allow you to, when you need to take a break, indicate this and to move to a private area for a moment. Don't try and force yourself to feel better, or blame yourself for feeling sad; cry if you need to, then wash your face and return to your work/study. Don't try and push through without breaks, you may well feel a lot more miserable (because of the burden of keeping up a facade.) People have a lot of ways of 'coping' with grief - in the sense of 'making it go away' - like talking about fond memories, writing the person a letter/poem, drinking a lot of water, etc - 'tricks' - but I think it's mostly time that makes things better. Most people understand loss, and particularly in the case of school, this kind of situation is why they have applications for exceptional circumstances. Your school/workplace, if they're professional, will be reasonable. Good luck with your exams, and my condolences.

I'm going for my college interview tomorrow and on the letter it says I should bring with me a small passport size photo. Now, I thought I had one but I can't find it so my sister said to take my school photo in. Does anyone know just what the photo is actually used for? Just so I know whether it would be okay. I'm in the UK, just to make sure.

^ I'm not really sure about the UK, but when I was filling my high school applications, they asked for a picture of me just to keep on file as part of my admissions record. I'd assume it's the same but I'm not really sure.

It could just be a photo so they know who you are, but it might also be for an ID card should you get in. In general though I think so long as it's a clear head shot you should be fine.

Are there any good temporary hair color brands out there in off-colors (like green, purple, etc. etc.) that would wash out within 3-10 washes or so, and not ruin my hair? I'm looking to get some, but I don't know what brands would be decent and I don't want permanent hair color and I don't want to strip or bleach my hair out to get it.

^ Splat or Manic Panic are the only ones I can think of off the top of my head and they're both pretty cheap too. When I dyed my hair, I usually used Splat. Though, I'm not entirely sure how long it takes to wash out...

Does anyone know the statistics for marijuana users in California in 2011 and/or 2012 (while it's been legalised)? And also for before then? Basically I'm wondering if the number of people smoking weed as risen or fallen once it was legalised.

I use Directions, but because my hair is so dark I bleach it for the color to take. It does however fade quickly when washed often. Providing you're hair is naturally light I'd recommend it.

I have a question about tumblr I started a tumblelog last night (one of the ones that's added onto your dashboard, not a separate blog) and none of my likes/reblogs/followers are showing up, but I know they're happening. I've had tumblelogs before and this has never happened. They're also not showing up on the tumblr app on my phone. Did they change it so they don't show up anymore or do I have to select it somewhere?

Can anyone tell me where this is from?
