Words You Hate

I hate the word 'awesome'. .__________.

And awkward.

Crispy, delicious, like, epic, fail, liar, lies, pop (when meaning soft drinks [although it does add regionalism]).

Awk. (awkward)
Totes. (totally)
Jelly. (jealous)

They look stupid. They sound stupid. They are stupid.

I've seen the first two in stories before and thankfully I have not seen the last ones. Next time I do I'm leaving a comment and listing them as misspelled words. They annoy the shit out of me.

They're not misspelled words, they're abbreviations. While I understand why you may not like them, as long as a writer on Mibba is using them either (a) in dialogue or (b) as a way to enhance the narration, they're not doing anything wrong.

There's a difference between a writer using those words because they're too lazy to spell it out and using those words because they help build a character's personality.

^ If I remember correctly neither of the words were used in dialogue. They were just there, sitting in the middle of a paragraph. I wouldn't mention correcting them simply because I don't like them. That wouldn't make any sense.

Impregnate.

Something about it just gives me bad vibes, maybe because it sounds so involuntary.

Pregnant.

The word sounds like stretching rubber. All I think is swelling and stretch marks.
Like the stretchy sound from the old Rugrats cartoon.

Also, B's. Bottle, bubble, burst. The words sound like they're retaining water.
B's and P's.

Spasm and orgasm. That "asm" sound just makes me ick.

Moot. It seems to be coming up a lot all of a sudden, but that just could be me noticing it now that I have a newfound hatred of the word.

Moist. It sounds weird.

I really hate the word "sauce" and I don't know why.

Burst.

I hate writing it, especially when I have to use it in past tense.

Sandwich. Ugh.

...I'm glad I've never been in a situation that called for those words.
