The Complete Pixie Survival Guide

Kalem was growing increasingly annoyed with her and grunted, faking a smile and nodding. Didn't she get it?! Her father did want to search her out! That was what he was here for! But no... Some dumb animal had to mess with that. A werewolf! "Perhaps you're right. It's just a magical world we live in... You don't know until you try - but maybe you would like it!"

Tobi sighed. This guy was almost as bad as Caden, and he obviously wasn't giving up, for whatever reason. "And if I said I would try? Would you stop bugging me then, even if I decided I wasn't interested afterwards?" she asked. "And I mean it. No more showing up everywhere. I'm not sure if you really are a stalker, but you seem like it."

Kalem chuckled a little. Finally - a little budging! That was a good thing - a great thing! It meant he had a better chance of breaking her down than ever before. "Okay - okay. I will stop bugging you as long as you want to try." He winked lightly and then shrugged. "Oh, so now you're kicking me out of my classes? Well thanks Tobi!" He shook his head.

"Well, thank you kindly," Tobi murmured sarcastically, rolling her eyes. She was glad she was finally going to get some reprieve from the bugging he was giving her though. Then she shook her head, sighing. "Sorry! You can get a new schedule or just stop going to school anyway. It isn't as if you have to be here," she pointed out.

Kalem chuckled a little at her and nodded his head. "Oh sure - thanks for sounding sarcastic." He teased lightly and then nodded his head. "I'm sorry - is it that big of a deal if I want to come! Not to mention, I like spending some time with another human pixie - it's interesting to see how you have assimilated here. I'm just interested - not causing trouble, I promise.

Tobi rolled her eyes. "If you mean into human society, just fine as you can see. If you mean here, I've only been here three days. No assimilation happening yet," she said. "And you are causing trouble!" She argued, quickly lowering her voice. She sighed. "Sorry... I know you don't mean to... Or you don't seem to be wanting to at least, but... Calm down okay? Before you and Caden get suspended for fighting."

Kalem smiled a little at her and nodded. "Only three? Really? Where were you before? Anyways, your assimilation into human culture is still pretty impressive either way." He pouted a little fakely when she said he was causing trouble and he shook his head. "Fight me? Why would he want to fight me for being interested in another pixie?"

Tobi sighed. "First of all, I'm not a pixie, remember? Only half, and I just figured that out yesterday, so technically I'm human as far as I'm concerned, raised by my mom and dad," -who was technically her step father, but she'd always known that- "so no assimilation needed. And as for why Caden would fight you... you can ask him if you want. Just know that you need to tone yourself down if you wish to keep your throat intact."

Kalem chuckled a little. "Half a pixie and raised by humans, but still a pixie at heart. You know, you don't know that you can hide it forever - but I understand." He smiled lightly and sighed. "I don't know why he hates me so much!" He pouted lightly, crossing his arms.

Tobi sighed. "Ask him yourself," she said. "And I'm not a pixie at heart! Do I look like a wild creature of the woods and snow?" She wrinkled her nose. "Never mind, I can answer that... I hate snow."

Kalem smiled lightly and nodded his head lightly. "Oh yes - you are definitely a creature of woods and snow. I can tell it!" He teased lightly. "How about you introduce me to your Caden?"

Tobi arched an eyebrow at Kalem, until she realized he was being serious. Then she shook her head. "Nuh uh," she said firmly. "I like going to school, no nope. You don't have a snowball's chance in hell." She sighed at the look she got. "No, Caden can't keep me from coming to school, though he did try... But he can talk to my grandma and then she can pull me out. Just because I'm okay with you," she pointed a finger, "though I still trust you about as far as I can throw you, but that's not the point. My grandmother is anti pixie, since she's a were.. And so is Caden. They'll think I'm "converting" or something. So, no offense, please stay away."

Kalem chuckled a little and shook his head. "You're no fun!" He teased lightly and then chuckled as she got all serious about this whole were business. Damn... It would be so much easier if she trusted him enough that she would make her boyfriend and grandmother understand... That would be such an easy in - but it didn't seem that easy now. "Fine - I promise I'm not trying to stir up trouble. So... You really love this guy? And he knows what you half are?" He asked, trying to keep a good conversation going.

"Well, love is... a strong word... I mean, I met him three days ago, but I do like him a lot." Tobi smiled a little at the mere mention of Caden. "And yes, he knows. Apparently he knew before I did..." she sighed, shaking her head. "What about you though?" she asked. "You haven't told me a thing about you. Thought you wanted at least a little trust?" She gave him a pointed look that said he was definitely going to have to earn any trust she gave.

Kalem held back scoffing at her when she said that she even liked this guy! He didn't believe it - she was a pixie. She was supposed to be different than that! But he played it off well - he smiled and nodded. "Well I'm happy for you - especially since things normally don't work out between us pixies and Weres." He laughed and then shrugged. "Well ask me anything! What would you like to know?!"

Tobi bit back a sigh. He kept saying things like "us pixies" even though she'd said more than once that she was human. "Okay..." She paused. "Tell me the truth about why you're here," she finally said. "That you're just interested is really an awfu-" she was cut off as the bell rang. "See you later!" She hopped up to go meet Caden. Knowing him, he was probably already at the door.

Kalem frowned lightly at what he wanted and then he shook his head. He didn't know what to say necessarily - that one caught him off guard. "Oh... Okay..." He frowned as she hopped away.
Caden had left his class a moment early to get to her and he smiled when she came out. "Hey baby girl." He smiled and pecked her lips, rubbing his nose against hers in an Eskimo kiss.

Tobi smiled at Caden's greeting and kissed him back. "Hey," she said. "Ready for lunch?" She asked, taking his hand and lacing thei fingers together as she moved out of the doorway so people could get out of the room.

Caden smiled at her and caressed her cheek lightly. "Anything happen during this period?" He asked, swinging their hands lightly and starting to walk slowly down the hall.

"Mmm, not really... We just sat around the whole period..." Tobi didn't want to mention Kalem. If he asked her directly, she would tell him the truth rather than lying, but if it was optional... "Anything happen to you?" She discreetly drove the conversation away from her.
