There's No Place Like Home

  • Morgan couldn't help a giggle and she blushed slightly, smiling over at him. He was laying down beside her and it felt good... She couldn't help but admit that she liked laying with him like this. "Are you so sure about that?!" She teased. She wasn't so sure herself.

Chris smiled at her when she tried to roll her eyes at him, but he knew she wasn't that serious. She was trying too hard to seem like she didn't like him. There was already too good a feeling of laying together for that. "You're adorable when you blush," he stated with a smirk.

  • Tyler chuckled a bit and nodded slightly to her teasing, grinning to himself. "Of course I'm sure about it," he mused quietly, running a hand through his hair gently, a broad grin plastered on his face, "Completely sure about it."

Leigha laughed quietly, honestly rather amused with his words. "You're crazy," she said simply, sticking her tongue out at him in an almost childish manner. She just was just purely amused with everything, despite how flustered Chris made her.

  • Morgan giggled softly to his answer and teasingly rolled her eyes, though she was no match for his charm. Well, she certainly couldn't fall for a guy from around here, could she? She had a home to get back to...a life to get back to. "At some point you will... Guys always get bored of their 'play things' at one time of another. I don't expect you to be any different." She stated simply.

Chris rolled his eyes to her teasingly-hurtful words. Nothing he had said would make him seem crazy! He was only stating a fact about how beautiful she was; she should really just accept it. "I am not - I was just telling the truth about what I saw!" He said with a wink. He reached out and just touched her cheek lightly. "Pure beauty."

  • Tyler blinked after hearing her words, rather surprised by them. Frowning slightly, he shook his head immediately. "You're wrong," he muttered softly before letting out a sigh, "First of all, you're not a 'play thing,' anyways. Secondly, I would never get bored of you. And, lastly, guys here aren't like that. Despite that they may be like that where you're from, we here are genuine about our feelings."

Leigha felt her cheeks warm up once again and didn't quite understand how he had this kind of effect on her when no guy back on Earth did. "Well..." she murmured, trailing off as she tried to find something to say that wouldn't make her seem too flustered. Finally, she simply settled with saying, "Beauty is in the eye of the beholder." It was one of her favorite quotes and it was the only thing she could come up with. It felt like such a lame thing to say, though.

  • Morgan tried to not believe him. All of the guys told their little sweet lies about how they were different - and how they would never be like the other guys. She was past believing that. It was just wrong and she almost wanted to hate him for all of that. "And what are your 'feelings', Tyler?" She asked in slight anger. She didn't want to deal with this.

Chris could see her struggling. He saw the way that she didn't know how to react to him - and he liked that. That meant he had some sort of affect on her, and it made him feel good. "You're beautiful, princess," he said softly. "Doesn't matter if you think so or not - but this beholder thinks you beautiful, and that's all that matters.

  • Tyler blinked at her tone, noticing the slight anger behind it, though he didn't understand what had brought about that anger. Looking at her, his eyes examined her features for a few moments. "I cannot say at this time what my feelings are," he told her quietly, a small smile appearing on his expression. "Not because I don't know what those feelings are, but because I'm afraid of scaring you off or making you even more upset with me."

Leigha felt her cheeks heat up at his words and tried to force it away. She didn't understand how he had this sort of effect on her; normally, she wasn't one to let simple words affect her so much. Shaking her head to rid herself of her blush and thoughts, she looked up at him and sighed quietly. "Don't say things like that," she murmured, "It will only make things more difficult in the end, when Morgan and I leave."

  • Morgan was determined to try to hate him. Then she felt herself slightly soften at his words though she tried to push it away. How did he make her feel so good with such simple words? She bit her lip and shook her head. "That's not fair - we just met. You can't say that you have feelings for me like that. Even if you don't say it out loud I know what you mean! It's so stupid..." She rolled her eyes. This was annoying.

Chris smiled at the way that she blushed again. It was amazing like this. She was beautiful with the way her cheeks heated up and he wished that he could just grab her and kiss her or something. To her words though, he shook his head and groaned. "No - what if things can be different?" He asked softly. "What if you just stayed?"

  • Tyler chuckled quietly to her words and shrugged. "The people here need no more than a few seconds to know what they feel," he said softly, his tone genuine. "Why is it that you seem so resistant in believing things like that? Are the males back on your Earth really so cruel as to make you believe otherwise?" The thought was depressing, even for him, and he hadn't even witnessed such a thing.

Leigha sighed lowly to his words, shaking her head quickly. "I can't!" she grumbled, a frown coming to her features, "I have a life back home, with family and friends. I can't just ignore that." She almost hated herself for saying all of that, but she needed him to understand that she couldn't just drop her life back home to live there. She didn't belong there.

  • Morgan sighed and shrugged. She didn't want to listen to this. It wasn't real...
This was the boys of this world's way of sweet-talking. If she was naive it would work. "Of course guys there are - and I don't expect anything different from guys here. Don't even lie to me that you really feel love at first sight. I don't need your mockery."

Chris sighed and ran a hand through his hair. "You don't have to be so resistant... It's possible. It could happen. What if you fall for me? Will you be able to leave your love behind for family and friends at home? I can give you that here too!"
    October 6th, 2013 at 06:35pm
  • Tyler frowned at her words, shaking his head. "Is that really what you think this is? Lies and mockery?" he asked, his voice softening as her words had hit hard. Did she really think that badly of him? Did she really think that he would say all of this just for the fun of it? "I'm being completely serious. I wouldn't lie about things like this and I would never dream of mocking you."

Leigha closed her eyes as she listened to him. Why was he so insistent on this? Why couldn't he just accept that, at some point, she would have to go home? She didn't belong here... "Why are you asking things like that?" she asked, her tone reflecting a bit of annoyance, "How can you even be certain that I would fall for you, anyways? Even if I do, this isn't where I belong. I would never belong in this world."

  • Morgan blushed a little at the way that he frowned. Ok... Maybe that was just a little but harsh. She couldn't help it. She had never known a guy to be so genuine like that. It wasn't normal and her defenses were up.... She wasn't going to be falling for that crap from a player in another world. "I... You don't understand. That's what it's like on earth. I shouldn't expect anything different here!"

Chris watched her as she closed her eyes to listen. He assumed it was a way of resistance and he didn't want that... Why didn't she understand that he already loved her? "Leigha, I know it can happen!" He said softly, leaning forward to grab her hands. "I know with the way that I feel that you're going to feel it too... But I understand - you're resisting... I'll show you."

  • Tyler frowned as he moved to brush a few strands of hair out of her face, tucking them gently behind her ear. "That's not how Telous works, though," he told her quietly, "Just ask anybody. Not everybody believes in it anymore, but it is true. Everybody knows it. Fate controls us all here in Telous and it was fate that brought you to me." He just wished that fate would let her understand that.

Leigha blinked her eyes open when she felt him grab her hands. Looking down at their interlocked hands, she remained silent for a few moments longer, almost tempted to pull her hands free, but also enjoying the way it felt to have his hands hold hers. Shaking her head, she sighed quietly. "Don't get your hopes up, Chris," she told him quietly, "Unless I end up stuck here, I don't plan on staying."
    October 7th, 2013 at 01:12pm
  • Morgan wished he wouldn't touch her. It made It even more difficult for her and she looked away from him, shaking her head in a way to try to block out these words that he was saying. "But I'm not from here, Ty..." She said softly. "It can't be working on me like that... I'm doomed for our humanity of earth."

Chris could tell she was struggling - but he could tell that she didn't want to pull her hands away and that made him feel good. He liked that. "You're mind can change, Leigha.." He said softly. "Don't completely rule out of the fact that you could want to stay. We have time - there's no rush into anything like this!"
    October 8th, 2013 at 12:31am
  • Tyler frowned and quickly shook his head to her words, letting out a sigh. "You're not doomed, Morgan," he told her, his voice softer than it normally would be, "You're here in Telous now. Whether you're from here or not, you're here now. Telous changes people and I'm sure you'll love it here. You just have to give it a chance."

Leigha eyed him for a few moments before moving to sit up. "I don't need time," she said with a frown, "And my mind won't change. My decision's already made and I won't let it change, at all. I refuse." She wouldn't let herself get pulled into his charm and kindness, not when she knew she had to go back home at some point.
    October 11th, 2013 at 12:19pm
  • Morgan shook her head softly as she listened to his voice becoming soft. She didn't want to get her hopes up... It just wasn't right like this. She couldn't fall in love with someone from another world like this... She knew it was just wrong. "I know... But I doubt it's true. I'm just supposed to go back to my Earth..."

Chris sighed and shook his head. "You're going to let yourself miss out on so much here?" He asked softly, brushing some hair from her face. "I'm sure I can show you something that will change your mind." Love... He said it in his mind, but he couldn't bring himself to say if out loud - not yet. He would just end up scaring her away.
    October 13th, 2013 at 03:26pm
  • Tyler shook his head quickly, disliking her words. "You don't know that," he pointed out, "You don't know if you'll end up wanting to stay here or not. You don't know if you'll even have to leave. You can stay here forever." That's what he wanted; he wanted her to never leave his side. Even if it was a little selfish, he didn't care. He didn't want to lose her.

Leigha froze at feeling him brush hair from her face and she eyed him for a moment before a sigh escaped her lips. "I already told you before not to let your hopes get too high," she reminded, her voice soft, before she diverted her gaze, "You shouldn't even be trying to get close to me. It's wrong."
    October 13th, 2013 at 03:39pm
  • Morgan shook her head. "What if it's wrong, Tyler?" She asked. "I can't be your soulmate or your love at first sight or whatever... I'm not even from around here! Perhaps we'll find your real love somewhere around here as we go... And then you can stop fighting for me. I'll let you go - I'll be happy for you... Because you deserve to be happy - here, with someone from here."

Chris sighed as he felt her freeze and he didn't understand what was so repelling about him that she stiffened so much to his touch. He didn't understand her words. What about it was wrong? Certainly not the fact that he knew he had feelings for her already. It was how it worked here. "Why? Why is it so wrong?" He asked her.
    October 15th, 2013 at 12:30am
  • Tyler shook his head quickly, brushing away strands of her hair gently and tucking them behind her ear. "It's not wrong, Morgan. How could it possibly be wrong when it feels so right?" he said softly, his eyes nearly pleading for her to just accept his words rather than to build walls around her heart. "And, how do you know that you're not from here? Even without that, though, fate brought you here and fate made us meet just as fate made it so that I would fall for you."

"Because I don't belong here, Chris," Leigha said simply, looking away from him. She hated her own words, but she knew it was true; she didn't belong there. She belonged back on Earth. "Letting yourself get your hopes up is only going to hurt you in the end. Why can't you understand that? Why can't you understand that I won't stay?"
    October 15th, 2013 at 09:55am
  • Morgan shook her head, wishing he wouldn't touch her. It made it that much harder... "How do you know it's right? Maybe I'm just shielding you from the real love of your life." She blushed and shook her head. She didn't want to hear any of this - no one on earth had ever said it... But she didn't want it here. It was wrong to want it.

Chris sighed and shook his head. "What if you do belong here? What if you were brought back here after you were accidentally taken to that earth?" He wanted her to believe... More than anything. "I won't get my hopes up - but that doesn't mean I'm going to stop believing that you're meant to be mine. I know that's true."
