Can I have you?

Eric didn't know what to make of her smiling like she was. Before she had been snapping about everything - and now she was here smelling? He didn't understand it. "Oh - we should go out fishing before dinner tonight. That would sound good." He offered with a smile. Then he sighed as he leaned back. "So - what are we going to do about me getting home? We're going to need a boat."

Isabella blushed slightly as she still found herself staring at him and she turned her eyes away from him. When he ruffled her hair, she smiled and then watched excitedly as he pulled out the cupcakes. "Extra frosting please!" She said like a little kid. She made an "mmm" noise and giggled to herself.

Aria smiled. "I'll watch you fish." she chuckled and shook her head. "Look... I wanted to talk to you." she said finishing her food and setting it down looking at him. "I have been harsh and I was wondering if you might forgive me and let us start over." she said.

Peter chuckled again handing her the mixing tool as he finished it with the frosting before he started to frost the cupcakes. Peter grinned and handed Wenda one fist since Isabella had the frosting stick. He then set an extra frosted cupcake in front of her and frosted the others. Peter smiled.

Eric sighed a little, wondering why she was avoiding actually swimming with him. "Oh come on - ill go easy on you if you're afraid I'll show you up at this fishing stuff!" He teased, and then frowned as she became serious. "Of course ill forgive you... What is bringing about this apology?" He asked weakly.

Isabella's eyes widened in happiness as he handed her the mixing tool and she happily lapped her tongue at it to get all of the frosting. "Thank you, they look lovely!" She complimented happily with a grin as he set down the cupcake in front of her. She took a bite and smiled even more. "Oh - and they taste just as scrumptious!" She said happily.

Aria looked at him chuckling. "Eric I have a lot of secrets and I'm not gonna share them if you press but I might share. I'm the kind of girl you push me and I shove my heels in but if you let me come up with the idea everything will come smoothly. I need you to trust me for me to trust you and no it's not fair but my life has been hard and I'll tell you a story of how. This apology came from my shame. I know I was harsh on you and you are just trying to understand but I'm stronger then I look." she said. Aria sighed. "When I was a child I was out swimming once and was caught in a net. When they pulled me up they took me from home. I've haven't seen my family sense. When I finally got away I came here and didn't leave until I was a teenager. What they did to me should never happen to a child."

Peter chuckled. "Good because your taking half home." he winked. Peter leaned against the counter and ate a cupcake then went over and pulled out the milk. "Who wants some?" he asked.
Wenda smiled. "Pour me a glass love."
Peter smiled and ran his hand through his hair nodding grabbing a few glasses.

Eric listened to her intently. He didn't want to say anything to change her mind about telling him - and he hoped she knew that he would protect whatever she told him with his life. He sighed as he listened to it and then frowned lightly. "I....I don't know how you were found in that net like you talk about, but I know that you didn't deserve it. I'm sorry to hear about your family like that..." But he still had a question that was prodding at his humanity. "So...what did they do to you?" He asked softly, sitting up in the hammock. He wanted to comfort her, but he didn't know how.

"Me too!" She said happily. Isabella smiled at him and rested her head on her hand, giggling to herself. "I only get to take half home?! That is totally a rip off!" She giggled. It was just funny... She couldn't wait until tomorrow. It was so exciting... A day alone with Peter. That would be perfect. She never got so much time alone...

Aria bit her lip remembering. "They torched me. They treated me like I wasn't... like I wasn't human." she said after choosing her words. The truth was that she wasn't human. Aria looked away looking sad. She didn't want to feel pain anymore and that is all human's had brought her... no she took that back she had a human family once. They had been kind to her.

Peter poured three glasses of milk and distributed them. "Yes half." he said and poked Isabella's side grinning. Peter put half in a box and then left one out and put the rest in another box for Wenda. Wenda smiled and kissed his cheek. Peter smiled and patted her hand.

Eric frowned as he listened to her words. "Who would do something like that? - to a child nonetheless! That is disgusting." He shook his head and then approached her slowly. He took a seat next to her on her hammock, keeping a slight distance between them in case she wasn't comfortable with him. "And what happened to your family?" He asked softly.

Isabella went to frown and then blushed. Of course the other half would be for Wenda... She shouldn't have been so childish about it - but sometimes she forgot that she didn't have priority over Wenda. "Right - sorry." She said. She wished she should kiss his cheek like that... It wasnt fair. What did Wenda do that made her deserve him?

Aria shrugged. "I don't know." she said and looked away. The truth was she hadn't had her family since she was a little girl. She had human families here and there but when she had become an adult she had hid herself away on this island Aria looked at him. "It happened a long time ago." she took his hand. "Don't feel sorry for me." she said.

Peter smiled and patted her hand too. "It's okay." he said. Peter bit his lip. He wondered if Isabella didn't like Wenda for some reason because every time he paid any attention to Wenda Isabella seemed to get upset. He didn't understand why.
Wenda looked at Isabella. "Well it's after desert." she said almost as if hinting that Isabella should leave.
Peter looked at her funny. "Yeah and?"
Wenda shrugged. "So what should you and I do Peter?" she asked and he shrugged looking at Isabella. "What do you want to do?"

Eric was sad for her. No wonder she lived by herself - he could understand how she didn't want to be part of the human race when they were so unkind to her. He squeezed her fingers and smiled lightly. "Don't feel sorry?" He asked teasingly. "That's kind of hard to do - i can see how you're resentful of what happened. I'm sorry."

Isabella managed to smiled when he patted her hand and she blushed. Why couldn't he see the way that he made her heart go crazy?! It wasn't fair, but she sighed. When Wenda spoke, she blushed more and got up. "I think I've overstayed my welcome." She said softly, ignoring Peter's questions. "I should leave you two... I'm sure that I should go - let you two have your couple time."

Aria smiled softly and patted his hand leaning her head on his shoulder and sighed. She had never talked about it and strangely it felt good to talk to him about her pain. Aria looked up at him then back out to sea. "What was your childhood like?" she asked not wanting to talk about her anymore. Aria looked at the island and wondered if it was going to make her build a boat for Eric.

Peter smiled but then frowned when Isabella said she over staid and he caught her wrist and took the cupcakes from her setting them down. He hugged her and kissed her head. He actually held her for to long. "You have never warn out your welcome at my place. This is your home too." he whispered to her and then let her go handed handed her cupcakes back. "I'll be around at your place bright and early with breakfast." he said and winked opening his door for her kind of sad she was leaving so early.

Eric smiled a little as she rested her head on his shoulder. He was glad that she felt comfortable enough to do that. It made him feel good about himself for once. When she asked about his childhood, he sighed and shrugged with his free shoulder. "Compared to yours....just peachy." He said in a sad voice. "We were a struggling family. My dad was a merchant, so he didn't make much money. But that was where I got the love of the water... I used to hide away on his shipments - until he finally taught me how to sail. Then I got to start leading the merchant ships." He smiled, thinking about it.

Isabella was quite surprised when Peter had grabbed her wrist so suddenly. She didn't know what he was up to, so she let him lead... She was pulled into such a tight hug - that it made her ache that she wasn't more to him than just friends. She leaned into him, getting as relaxed as she could. It lasted for a long time - but it was still too short. To his words, she giggled quietly... She wished this was her home. "I'll be waiting!" She said happily and then turned to leave. She wished she didn't have to - but she didn't have any other choice.

Aria nodded listening smiling when he talked about his father. She looked up at him. "That's beautiful." she said. "You didn't have much but what you did have I envy." she said. "What happened to them?" she asked and held his hand. She was sure he would want to go home if they where still alive right? Aria would. She knew she had a family when she was little but only had one memory of her father and that was it.

Peter smiled and watched her go then turned to Wenda. "What?" he asked. Peter smiled and took her hand leading her to his couch. He sat pulling her into him. He would let her talk first. She always did. Peter seemed to have two women he cared for and they where both the opposite. His only problem was figuring out how he cared for them. Because he felt such strong emotions for everyone. That was perhaps why he worked with the orphans.

Eric sighed as he had finished with his tale, and he chuckled to see her looking so smiley about it. When he asked about them, he shrugged. "They're back home. My dad had finally settled down into a fishing business and I helped him with that through my sailing. He said he had found a better prize in his first days of that than he had ever found in his years of being a merchant. Apparently that was a sense of belonging." He chuckled.

Wenda smiled when they were finally alone. She was slightly annoyed that Isabella was so clingy to her boyfriend! Didn't he see that the girl was immaturely and stupidly in love wifh him?! She giggled as she was pulled into him and she sat, straddling her legs over his lap teasingly. They really needed to talk. "I just missed you, that's all!" She said in a sweet voice. She couldn't bad talk Isabella... She had to do it subtly.

Aria nodded and smiled. "Well wont they miss you then? They must be worried sick." she said and looked at him. "You have a family." she said. She couldn't keep him here any longer then a week even if she wanted too. Aria bit her lip snuggling into him. "It must be nice to belong." she said softly.

Peter nodded. "I know but we always hang out. You got to let me have time with Bell too. She's not just any girl she's my best friend. "She was really uncomfortable tonight and I'm worried about her." Peter said looking at Wenda. "Tammy is your best friend so you must now how I feel." Peter said. "If she wasn't talking to you about something wouldn't you want to know about it and take a girls day to do it?"

Eric smiled at her. Of course they would, but he couldn't tell her that... She would send him home right this very minute. "They might miss me - but they'll probably only think that I met the same fate as a lot of other sailors. And you can belong too..." He said softly. He felt bad that she seemed so sad. Why would they hurt her like that?

Wenda pouted as he seemed to scold her. She didn't see what he even saw in her as a best friend... She was just a lovesick puppy, following after Peter - even though he was taken! The nerve of some people! "I know she's your best friend - I respect that. She seemed just fine to me - she was laughing and seemed happy!" She argued. Then she sighed and shrugged. "I guessed - but it's not a girl's day when it's with you." She teased.

Aria smiled softly. "Thanks but I'm staying here. It's safe." she said. "And it's home." she said and looked at him. "You're home isn't here Eric. And it's not fair to let your parents think you died. But Eric... When you do go back some day... please don't tell them where you came from... or about me." she said looking at him. "I'll be safe that way." Aria wondered if he caught her someday.

Peter smiled. "Naw I guess not but it's just us. And she hides a lot under that happy face." he said and kissed Wenda's head. "You of all people should know how complicated girl can get." Peter chuckled. He looked at her. "Now that that's settled about Bell you wanted to talk about something else earlier?"

Eric sighed. Of course he knew that she would disagree with all of his logic - but a guy could hope, couldn't he? "My home is wherever I want it to be - and they would understand it. But if you want me to go... I won't make you think differently - and your secret's safe with me - but I make no promises that I won't try to find you again one day."

Wenda managed a smile and wrapped her arms tighter around his neck, kissing his cheek after he kissed her forehead. "We are complicated creatures, I tell you!" She giggled. Then she sighed and nodded her head. "I wanted to talk about that thing we've been discussing," she started, referring to moving in. "You know... I really love you, and we've been spending a lot of time with each other. And I'm ready to take it to the next level with you..." She leaned in and kissed his lips quickly.

Aria frowned when he said he might try to find her. "Eric it's to dangerous. The island doesn't like strangers." she said. Aria looked at him and bit her lip standing. "And you know... you don't have to go right away. You could stay a few days... see the island a little." she said and wrapped her arms around herself. Aria had wanted him to leave but not so soon. She had thought she had at least enough time to get to know him some more but he was a quick healer she guessed.

Peter sighed. "We talked about this Wenda. You know I care for you but I'm just not ready." he said and stood pacing. "I don't know why you have to push this. I hardly hang out with anyone I use to and all we do is spend time together. It's not a healthy way for us. We'll crash and burn but your not listening to me." he said feeling like a broken record. Peter may act like everything was fine between them but when she pushed the future he started to push back.

Eric rolled his eyes. "Is that the island saying it - or is that you?" He asked teasingly. "It certainly isn't like the island seems to hate me now! It's not like island has swallowed me up or something yet!" He chuckled and then shrugged. "I have all of the time in the world - I'll stay for as long as you want me to stay... I'll go as quickly as you want me to go!" He sighed lightly.

Wenda found herself pouting as she listened to Peter rejecting what she wanted - again. That wasnt satisfying to her at all. Why didn't he see that he was all she wanted and more? "Exactly - I spend a lot of time here anyways... Wouldn't it be easier if we lived together and then you could see some other people too because you'd always have me to come home too! I'm more excited for that than I can explain to you!"

Aria wasn't sure if the island wanted him or not. If he left would the island want him still? Aria listened to what he said next and turned looking at him then suddenly her arms where around him in a tight hug. She had him close until she realized what she was doing and pulled back. "Sorry." she said before she did so.

Peter shook his head. "No Wenda I'm not ready and that is that." he said ended the conversation by walking away and into the kitchen cleaning up the desert mess he made. He sighed. They use to have a good thing going but things where just getting to complicated now.
