"I am just trying to make friendly conversation, but if I am not going to force you share. Although, I think I have an idea." Alex shrugged his shoulder since she seemed pretty adamant about not telling. Although, he couldn't tell whether it was from feeling shameful or inferior.

"Try to be back before the food gets cold." He warned her as she stalked off down the hallway after telling her the directions to the bathroom. Slightly sighing, he leaned back in the chair containing himself. The food smelled delicious and he hadn't realized how long it had been since the last time he ate. Luckily, she didn't take that long and was back in minutes. "Italian. Every thing in the Italian culture you can think of."

Violet just frowned at Hayden thinking that he was just overreacting to the situation. He was an even bigger wuss than she had thought in the first place. It hadn't even been ten minutes since they had left the house and he already wanted of go back. "Then, go. I am completely fine out here alone."

She slightly turned hearing the sound off her van pulling up near them. That was when her panic started to set in since vans were never promising. "I'm fine. I was just on my way back to the house." Violet quickly lied not wanting to get involved with the guys.

Makenna nodded, her somach growling at how amazing the food smelled. She in all honesty couldn't remember that last meal she had and even then it had not been so appetizing. Probably just something from a vending machine. Looking around a bit she soon had herself a plate fixed but didn't pile to much on it. As much as she hate him, she didn't want to seem like a pig though she was rather starving.

Sitting down at the kitchen bar, she slowly used her fork to pop a some food in her mouth, though she didn't mean to, she soon caught herself practically devouring the food but stopped and pushed the empty plate away. "I um. Where's some blankets?" She asked, figuring she was sleeping on the couch. That's how it usually was when she was at someone's place. She honestly didn't even care for a pillow, she had slept on way worse.

His lips forming into a tight line, Hayden looked to the guys who then proceded to stop, going to get out of the vehical. "Grab her," one of them said to a taller one and this caused Hayden to truly panic.

"Go!" Hayden yelled to Violet as one of them lunged towards her but, though he was small, Hayden pushed him away giving her a bit of time to go since there were only two of the men. Glancing back to see where Violet had went, one of the guys took this opportunity to deck him in the face.

Alex thought it had been odd that she hadn't taken more of the food. Was she trying to be modest about it? If someone didn't eat the food, it would probably end up in the trash. It wasn't like he had use for leftovers. "Take more, Makenna. I don't exactly want you to be reserved around me. I am sure that you haven't had a decent meal in weeks." He pulled one of the pasta plates before him before placing some onto his own.

Just as he had suspected, once she let the flavor hit her mouth, it was impossible not to devour it. He was slightly confused by her question as he glanced towards the couch. She really didn't think she was sleeping there, right? Alex had over ten bedrooms in the house and she thought that she would be exiled to the couch? "I think you're mistaken. One of the maids set up a bedroom for you down the hall from mine." He looked at her with a slightly crooked grin finding it amusing that she thought that he would give her the bare minimum.

As the man's mouth turned into a look of annoyance, she knew that she would be in trouble. Violet had the confidence to fight it out with the other men but wasn't sure if she could beat both. She couldn't rely on a boy that was barely two inches taller than her with lanky arms.

Without realizing that the man had made a move, she was knocked out of the way by Hayden. What was he thinking?! "You idiot!" She called out before dashing out of the scene. Violet made sure to memorize the license plate of the van. She just hoped that he could hold off long enough.

Makenna rolled her eyes at the silly lite annoying grin that he gave her. The same grin he used to give her in school when he just knew that he had gotten under her skin.

"Okay. Well good night," she said with a shrug as she walked down the halway towards the room. Once inside her astonished look that se had worn since she had figured out her enimies wealth was back. Everything in the room was an elgant color of black and white and most things looked rather expensive, and this was only a guest room. Looking around she went to the guest bathroom to wash her makeup off. Even though she had took a shower, she was careful to keep most of her face from being wet and even touched it up ever so slightly before going back into Alexs presents.

Now that she knew if everything he owned, she couldn't dare look like worse of a person than she knew she already was. She had to retain some decency even if it was the little confidence and beauty that makeup gave her. Soon she was makeup free and off to bed.

Ignoring Victorias name calling, Hayden tied not to loose focus as the other guy came to grab him. Reaching his arm back he decked one in the face as another came for him. He knew he was really no match but he was a lot tougher than he looked. Ramming his fist into another he could practically feel the guys nose breaking at the force.

Though he was trying his best, one finally had and started rummaging in his pocket. "Fucking prick," the man muttered. Before he had a chance though Hayden elbowe him in the face and took off running. Luckily he was fast and soon could see his house in the distance. Once close enough he stopped and began to walk.

As she walked off down the hallway, he called in one of the maids to take away the left over food and walked back to his room. Alex knew he could use a shower of his own to just relax from the stress he had received during the day. He had some time to reflect on what had just occurred.

It was odd knowing that he had a guest with him even despite it being a past rival. Most of the time, he was alone inside of the mansion without anyone else but the staff that quietly worked around the house. Even then, they were too afraid to approach him. Soon, he finished and putting on clothes that he used for sleeping before going back downstairs to see if Makenna had come back. They chatted for a little while before departing off to bed.

Violet continued to run and glanced behind her to see that the van was no longer in her vision. Had he been taken? What was she supposed to tell her parents? A flood of worry and anger rushed through her mind as she thought of all the possibilities. If he had not come along, she may have not encountered the vehicle, but at the same time she could have been taken...

Nearing the house, she felt out of breath and collapsed against the tree trying to see if anyone had followed her. She curled slightly into a ball letting out a small whimper of exhaustion before letting her head rest against the tree. "That idiot.."

Makenna woke the next morning with a yawn and threw her legs over the edge of the bed. Standing up she headed to te bathroom an glanced in the mirror. What she saw made her cringe and how she felt wasn't much better. She hadn't really had her little 'fix' last night and she could feel it. Taking in a breath she just shook her head and walked back to her room.

She grabbed her makeup and applied a little before running fingers threw her messy hair and then throwing it up in a messy bun. Now she smelt the air and she knew that he must have the chef cooking breakfast and we stomach just growled as she made way out front.

Once Hayden finally was at the house he looked around and soon saw her uner a tree. "You okay?" He asked a he walked up in frot of her, slightly scraped up hands in pocket as he glanced at her.

He was a bit beat up not not near as bad as that situation could have ended. Glancing around and then back at her he waited for an answer. Even then he could taste the metallic blood that came from his buste lip but he didn't pay much attention to it.

Alex was up at the crack of dawn and no longer needed anything like an alarm clock to wake him up in the morning. Now, it was just custom for him to be up early in the morning. He dressed in a suit before making his way down to the kitchen and calling up the chef to start making breakfast for them. He waited in the dinning room with a cup of coffee and the newspaper for Makenna knowing that she wouldn't be up for quite some time. Maybe the smell of the food would wake her up.

As he heard the sound of her footsteps, he glanced up from the newspaper to see that she had barely been up for a few minutes. It was obvious in her appearance that she didn't really make a giant effort but he knew that would just piss her off even more. "Good morning, sunshine." He gave a small smile.

She felt her heart jump once she heard Hayden voice in her ear and practically hit her head into the tree from the jolt,"God dammit! That hurt!" Violet clutched her head in her hands and recoiled before glaring up at him to show that it was all his fault. "What the hell is wrong with you? Those guys could have killed us!"

She wanted to give him an extra punch just for attempting to fight against those guys, but he looked pretty busted up himself at the moment. "Just get inside of the house, I don't want anyone knowing that this happened. You should fix up your wounds and all that stuff."

Though rather tempted to respond with "Goodmorning dickhead" she decided on just a simple nod and almost in audiable morning as she sat down after making her plate.

"I'm guessing the chef always does the cooking?" She asked him as she took a bite. Secretly she always did love cooking but over the years that just wasn't something she was able to do.

Finishing her portion rather slowly she eventually put the plate in the sink and yawned. She fixed herself a cup of coffee and the leaned against the corner. "So when doYou go to work?" She asked.

"Sorry" he said laughing slightly as she hit we head but e soon composed himself and shrugged. "Well if I wouldn't have done anything then you would probably be with those creeps going off to who knows where," he stated matter a factly. "Hey and look on te bright side, nothing's broken," he said grinning a bit though the grin was a rad sheepish.

"Yeah I won't be telling anyone if you don't," he shrugged as he easily made his way up the side of the house and back into his bedroom window.

Alex couldn't help but chuckle knowing that there were a bunch of words behind the simple nod since she was never quiet. "Yes, I would be in honest in saying that I would probably burn down the whole house if I cooked. Either that, or poison myself so chef it is." He admitted since every person wasn't perfect and cooking was just one of his flaws.

"Hmm, most of the time I'm gone by now, but I'm not needed for another hour or so." He told her as he put his newspaper off to the side in a neatly folded pile. The chef started to bring in the food that he had created before explaining each on of them and then leaving.

Violet gave him a small frown as she got up with a slight sigh and started to make her way back up the side of the house. "Just because you got lucky this time, doesn't mean you're cut out for the streets. Don't follow me next time. I can handle myself. You just didn't give me the chance."

As he walked by her bed to leave the room, she occupied herself by looking down at her fingertips before quietly muttering,"Take care of yourself, alright? Your life is actually worth something in this household."

Makenna nodded and gave a bit of a snide laugh at his comment. "Well then there is one thing I can probably do better than you. " she smirked victoriously, this little bit of information actually quite nice. She liked to know something like that.

"Well I may leave here in a little while. I was thinkig of checking out a waitress job a few minutes from here," she said as she sipped her coffe.

Hearing her ever so quietly he couldn't help but feel... Bad at her comment. "And so is yours, you just need to learn to believe that yourself," he said back in a quiet tone as he left the room and shut the door quietly behind him before going to the room next door.

Sighing a little he went to the bathroom attached to the room and looked in the mirror. Running a rag under some warm water he slightly dabbed his lip and flinched a little as it stung.

"One out of a million." He shot back with the same smirk she had just given him.

Alex just nodded his head as he finished up his cup of coffee thinking that it may be a good thing for her to explore other careers. "Alright, I think that would be a great idea." There were a few places around that she could get a job as a waitress just in case this one didn't work out. "You should be fine. Getting a waitress job isn't so hard."

Violet blinked at his comment not really expecting to hear something like that in return especially since how she had treated him. He was too nice for his own good. She shook her head since that was one statement she could never bring herself to believe. She quickly changed her clothes since they were torn and muddy - something that would tip off her parents before going to sleep for school the next day.

Makenna rolled her eyes at his comment. "Looks like your smart ass remarks haven't diminished in the slightest," she said sighing annoyedly as she finished off her coffee and poured herself another cup. Sipping the steaming liquid, she looked to him.

"Well I waitressed a long time ago so I'm hoping that'll help me out a little," she stated. Down if the rest, she nodded a thanks to the chef and soon disappeared back down the halway and didn't return until she had her hair and makeup decently done and the nicest clothes she could fine, which actually weren't so nice but it was all se had. They were a bit old and did how a little more than she would like but they would have to do for now.

Finishing doctoring his face the best he could he soon jumped in the shower. Feeling the warm water hit his back hert out a televised sigh. Stepping out he wrapped a towel around his waist after drying off.

Finally he slipped into bed, and didn't wake until the next morning. After throwing on a shirt he went to the bathroom before heading downstairs.

"Morning son," Hayden's dad said smiling as he made his way around the kitchen cooking along with Hayden's new step mother.

"Hayden Hun do you mind walking up stairs and waking Victoria up?" She asked. Only nodding, he made way back up stairs and knocked on Victorias door.

Alex shrugged his shoulder since he couldn't remember the last time he had backed talked to her in that way. It was a little refreshing. "You sort of get used to handing out remarks when you receive them just as much."

"It should. Anything really helps. Although, everything is getting more expensive with the bad economy and all." He sighed since his company did take a bit of a hit from the bad market. Although, it wasn't enough to affect him in a huge way. "If you want to buy anything, just ask me, alright?"

Violet was a deep sleeper and no one was ever able to wake her up in time. You could have kicked, sat, or even screamed at her before getting the slightest of reaction from her slumber. This meant that the knock on her door meant little for the sleeping girl.

Makenna shook her head at his offer. "I'm not going to spend your money," she said sternly as she tried to adjust her shirt. She was trying to get a job and she felt like her clothes may hold her back. "Do you have an iron?" She asked really needig to atleast iron her wrinkley shirt.

Hayden waited but after a moment knocked again. Nothing. Slowly opening the door he saw her sprawled out seeing she hadn't even woke in the slightest. "Victoria." He said. "Victoria!" He said a little louder as he shook her shoulder a little.

He was dreading her actually waking, he knew he was in for some not so nice words and probably a punch if he got to close.

"Victoria!" He tried again.

"Alright, suit yourself." He replied since he wasn't going to push her to take his money anyway. It was up to her to do as she pleased. "Yes, but one of the maids could do it for you. You haven't eaten breakfast yet so give it to her and then have something."

As the yelling got louder, she started to stir before cracking an eye open with a frown forming on her face. There was too much sunlight to be awake and she turned to glare at the vile creature that had woken her up,"Leave me alone! Ten more minutes, jeez." Violet turned over in her bed before getting re-adjusted to go back to sleep.

Giving him a twisted look she rolled her eyes as she stripped of her shirt. She had a tanktop on, though a little too small, it covered enough, well in her opinion it did. Handing her shirt off to a maid she gave a quiet Thankyou that she didn't really expect Alex to hear her and didn't want him to either.

Sitting down beside him she grabbed a plate and took a bite. It was delicious and she wondered if the chef would ever give her the recipie or maybe even give her a few tips in cooking. She was hoping she could catch him when Alex wasn't really around.

Hayden let out a quiet chuckle. "Come on Violet. Breakfast is ready and you don't need to be late for shcool," he said grinning a little. "Come on Violet! Time to get up and grace the world with your sunshine and happiness," Hayden chuckled.

Sure Hayden was rather shy but ever once in while you would see him come out of his shell but you better watch carefully because hell hide away just as quickly as he came out.

He couldn't say that he had expected to see something more modest on underneath the shirt she was wearing, but it was a bit too tight and short for comfort. Clearing his throat, he glanced at the watch on his wrist before figuring that he could get to work. Alex wasn't certain if he could keep his eyes from wandering places that it shouldn't. He was a man after all. "I should get going so I guess I will see you tonight. I hope everything goes well with your interview."

"School can kiss my ass and the world is too good for my presence." She muttered back before forming a cucoon around her using the blankets. It was warm and cozy which meant there was no way in hell she was moving anytime soon. Violet tucked her head into the covers to block the sunlight from coming into her eyes since that was the one thing she couldn't sleep with. Hayden could try all he wanted, but she wasn't going to budge.

Nodding she took another bite of food. "Yeah me too," she muttered with a nod. That was probably the nicest thing he would get from her and he'd have to accept it. Before he left though the maid roughy her shirt back and Makenna gave her a smile and Thankyou before slipping the short on, her undershirt rising a bit but she didn't pay much attention to it.

Even though Alex probably wouldn't expect it, Makenna had a really good respect for people who worked for people like Alex. Her parents had many and they always treated them terrible but she was always surprisingly respectable for the most part unless others were around.

Hayden laughed at how sarcastic she could be even when half asleep and he had only known her a day. "Oh no you dont," he said yanking the blankets off her in a swift motion and now she ha no where to go.

"Come on. They gave me one job and your making he difficult!" He said dramatically as he waited to see if she would actually wake complete this time.

Alex scarfed down a piece of his omelette in the least savage way possible before leaving the house. He could already picture the amount of work piled up at his desk for coming in an hour late or so. Once he made it to work, he had already called that there was so much work to be done.

She groaned as she no longer had a blanket nor something to cover her eyes. Cracking an eye open, Violet couldn't help but give him a killer look. Waking her up in the morning was something that no one could do. "Go. Away. Hayden." She stated already feeling like she was in a bad mood.

"Come on Violet! You have your eyes open, alls left to do now is put your feet on the ground and drag yourself down stairs," he stated. He did notice though how she seemed mad now but hey, it was the morning, he couldn't expect much since he had ripped the cover off. "I will start singing. Don't underestimate me," he glare playfully at her.

Makenna sighed and glance at herself in the mirror. Gulping a bit now that she was pretty much alone she felt like she wouldn't get the job. "Come here Hun," the older women spoke, the same who ironed her shirt. "Take this," she said handing her a pretty silver necklace, simple.

"Oh no, I can't take that," Makenna refused.

"Yes, just bring it back okay. Think of it as a good luck charm for today," the old women smiled and Makenna felt her heart flutter. In many years she hadn't received genuine kindness but her who's lady was giving it to her and she didn't even know her.

"Thank you so much" she said smiling as she walked out.
