Bren remained hidden resting and training, knowing full well he couldn't be spotted on the streets for a few days. He would go out that night to send a message out that he had the royal rings for sale, but until then, it'd be best to remain unseen. His scarred chest a reminder to him not to screw up again

"We'll catch him Destry." her cousin said and she smiled and nodded. "Alright. For now I'll get ready to meet my groom to be." she said and then smiled. Her cousin nodded and left letting her get ready. Destry could stop thinking about the man in the night. He had been so scared. She bit her lip. Was it really that bad out there?

Bren was surprised when he hadn't heard about the castle being robbed until late afternoon. The princess must not of raised the alarm, she was very peculiar. He cleaned his weapon and his braces, donning his cloak to head out to the market, and the poorer districts. He often managed to 'procure' more than enough gold to survive, so helped those in need as much as he could, and when he wasn't stealing he hunted to help them in a more legal way, but between the different lords levies, hunting was nearly more expensive than buying food.

Destry was sitting at breakfast with her cousin. No one even knows what this man looks like. He killed two guards and knocked out a maid but she didn't even see him. He has to be a professional. I'll have to talk to other Lords to see if they had any similar experiences." Destry ate silently as he talked with his wife. Destry bit her lip and played with her food thinking about the man. She wanted to go into the town and look around.

Bren wondered through the market handing coins to some of the families he often helped, the one's willing to accept his charity, others he just slipped a few coins into their shopping or pockets. His ears listening out for any hint of commotion. He heard a royal messenger fly past heading out the gates, obviously sending messages to the other lords about last night. He wondered whether the lord would announce they'd been robbed, and stop the wedding or if they'd try to bluff it off.

Destry finished breakfast and went to her room. She grabbed her velvet cloak and then slipped out of the castle and headed toward the stables. She had her horse saddles and then she road out into the village. She dismounted and walked with her horse along the road frowning at what she saw. Destry walk walking for a while before she saw him. The man from the night before. She stopped catching his eyes.

Bren froze seeing the princess through the gathered crowd, he was thankful someone friendly to him was next to him, he bumped them softly, "I need a distraction," he whispered eyes still on the princess. The older women followed his gaze, "no you didn't, did you?" she asked. It was not a smart idea to mess with the princess, or nobles. Bren looked at the women, "I had too, now please?" he said softly placing the last of his gold in her palm. The women nodded and started screaming creating ruckus. In the ruckus Bren slipped out of the crowd and into an alleyway watching the princess carefully.

Destry didn't know what to do. She just kind of stood there watching him. She bit her lip watching him dart away as she looked at the woman. She walked through the crowd people moving for her. She walked over and took the woman's hand. "Shh it's okay." she said and patted her hand. "Come on I'll buy you some bread." she said and looked at a boy that was probably in his late teens. She leaned over to him. "Will you hold my horse?" she asked and handed him several golden coins. She grinned. Destry smiled as he nodded and took the reigns. Destry lead the woman over to the baker and she smiled asking for his finest bread. She paid and handed it to the woman. Destry was relaxed with these people. She was kind and didn't mention anything about the man who had been in her room the night before. She hadn't raised any suspicion other then to calm the distraction after he was away.

Bren watched as she talked to the people offering a hand, giving charity. It surprised him, he disappeared through the alley heading back to his hideout/home. He stripped off and collapsed onto the rough mattress, feeling the aches and pains or an hard life, and that drop

Desrty sent her day in the town until her cousin came out finding her. "My wife said look in the town, so where do I go? Anywhere but the town thinking you had more sense then this." Destry frowned and the thanked the boy for holding her horse then got on looking over at her cousin on his horse. "I felt there must be a reason we had our issue last night, so I came to see and look what I found." she said and rode away from him. She was angry with him. He was being selfish.

Bren groaned and struggled to sleep like every night. He ended up waking up and working on training.

Destry's cousin frowned riding with her, "these people are not our concern, as long as they pay taxes so we can continue trading with the other wards and they aren't causing problems we needn't trouble ourselves with them, besides your groom will be on his way for tonight, and after last night security has been tightened even more," he said

Destry looked at him. "I don't care Caden. The people will not take this for long, if you show you don't care about them like you do now they will rise against you. And someone like the thief from last night will be the head of them. If you don't change you will fall." she said her eyes locked on him. Destry rode through the gates to the stable and dismounted. Destry was livid she shook her head wanting to run tot he kitchen and stay there. When she was over him she would make her rule known. This husband to be better not think that women where incapable because she would show him up and make sure he fell as well. Destry had more spirit then most men she knew put together.

Caden frowned, "That thief last night is a murderer, he killed two loyal men, men who have protected you and your family tirelessly, and you disgrace their honour by siding with that man, making him seem more noble than them, you better not speak like this to your father, or at their funeral tomorrow afternoon," he said climbing off his horse following her. "But enough of that, you need to get ready to meet your groom, and perform your duties for your father," he said.

"They had more honor then you do Caden. They did their job which is what you are neglecting." she said and ran off. She went up and dressed in a simple dress but sat on her bed crying. Her shoulders shook with the memory of those poor starving people. Sure she didn't agree with the thief killing two loyal and good men but it was little to what would happen if Caden didn't pay attention to the needs of his people. If the people loved him they would turn in the thief, no problem but they didn't love Caden they loved anyone willing to help them.

Caden sighed and let her run off, she was obviously in shock.

Bren sighed and grabbed his bow deciding to head out hunting to practice on some moving targets, his aim was spot on, but like all skills it had to be constantly tested for him to remain as skilled as he was.

Destry washed her face and then went down. She stood in the door as Caden greeted her groom to be. She stood there only because her sick father had earned that. He was a good man and had done right by his people. Her parents had been better then many royals and had raised her to do the same. Destry knew her mother had been of simple orgins and it had softened her father though her mother had royal blood a few family members back they had lost their kingdom to an uprising. If anyone knew what they where talking about it was Destry.

Caden greeted the other family and the groom offering the friendliest smiled he could muster given the circumstances. One of the first questions was about how Destry was handling the burglary. Which was not unexpected.

Bren stalked through the bushes hunting game to give away to the starving people. He was careful not to hunt too much, to noticeably lower the stocks, if that happened the guards would be ordered to prevent hunting, which many people who Bren was unable to help relied on to survive.

Destry moved forward and smiled. "I slept right through it." she said and then nodded to his family "Good afternoon." she said. "I'm going to steal your son away for a while." she said and smiled softly putting her hand on his arm and walking toward the back and out to the gardens with him. She had only meet him once before. She smiled at him. "How are you?"

The man smiled softly, "I'm fine, how are you, it's terrifying to think he could have killed you just as he killed your two guards," he said softly. He was just as unsure about this wedding as she was. He smiled softly, "but how rude of me, how are you?" he asked

"Yes it is a bit frightening." Destry said. She smiled. "I am well but indeed missing my parents." she said and smiled at Garret. "How have you been since the ball?" she asked. The ball had been more of a way for her parents and family to size up the potential suitors. She had been the center of attention all night but Garret had been the one to ask her what she wanted and not just asked if she wanted to dance. Destry grinned remembering. They had went outside to look at the stars for a little while until she had gotten a chill. Destry smiled and stopped to smell the roses. "Mmm." She giggled softly.
