he got caught at the five and dime saving the day.

"Hmm, maybe she's just surprising me or something," Barry said, considering he hasn't heard anything about her coming yet. He couldn't wait to see her, though. Maybe seeing someone from before would make him feel like himself again.

"Oh, sorry," she said, chuckling to herself. "I was just thinking that pretty probably isn't the best word to describe you, though I'm not at liberty to say what is." They rounded one last corner and they were standing in front of the coffee shop, where Grace unlocked the door. "You'll want to avoid the creme puffs. Those are an art form."

Ella nodded, "in that case I should have kept my mouth shut" she chuckled as she started sketching some random animal. "So what does Mr. Barry Allen enjoy doing on his free time?" Ella asked while she started drawing. "When he's not doing... sciency things" she chuckled.

Peter chuckled, "it's all right, you just seemed distracted is all, not that there's anythign wrong with that." Peter let out a laugh, "oh so you won't tell me what you think, well, that's fine I respect that" he watched her unlock the door, while he stuck his hands in the pockets of his blue jeans. "Avoid creme puffs got it, they sound complicated so I won't even attempt that. You know, I always thought it was souffle is what you wanted to avoid?"

"Like, hobbies?" He asked with his head titled. No one had really asked him about that before. Not since his childhood, anyway. "I guess I just a work a lot," he said, shrugging his shoulders. "I'm a pretty boring person."

"It's nothing bad. I assure you you're perfectly good looking." she said as she guided him inside the coffee shop and flicked on the back light. She kept the lobby light off, because she didn't want people to think they were open just yet. "Lucky for you, we don't make soufflé here," she said with a chuckle as she went to the fridge, where she pulled out a mound of dough for them to use.

Ella nodded, watching him for a moment, she raised an eyebrow, "you mean to tell me, you have no hobbies ... whatsoever?" Ella was confused, how was she supposed to get to know someone who didn't have any hobbies. "So.. what do you do for fun? more work?" she asked teasingly.

Peter laughed, "I see you're trying to make me feel better, that's so kind of you" as he followed Grace into the kitchen. Peter leaned against a counter as he watched Grace gather everything she needed, he smiled "did you want me to help with anything?"

Barry shrugged his shoulders, laughing a bit at her reaction. "Work is fun for me, I guess. I like helping put away with the bad guys," he finished with a soft chuckle as he ran a hand through his hair. "What about you? What do you do for fun?"

"Just wash your hands really fast," she said softly. "I can't be to careful since I don't know where they've been." She gave a small laugh and looked over her shoulder to smile at him before dropping all the ingredients on the counter and patting her hands together. "Now we can get started."

Ella looked at Barry and nodded, "oh well, I guess that sounds like fun" she looked back to her drawing. Before looking back up, "I do mostly girl things, you know "boring" stuff, whatever you think a girl does on her free time is probably what I do, I'm not that interesting" she said shrugging her shoulders. Looking back at her sketch.

Peter rolled his eyes, "yeah I just roll around in filth all day long" he chuckled as he went to wash his hands quickly and drying them off on an apron. Peter walked back to Grace and looked at the dough in front of them, "so... what are we doing ?"

"So, shopping then? Reading those fashion magazines you refused to share?" Barry didn't know much about girly things, despite the fact that Iris was the epitome of everything girly. Barry shrugged his shoulders and scrunched his nose up a bit. "Hmm, I guess I really just didn't peg you as the girly type."

"You never know," Grace said as she shrugged her shoulders. "I'm sure Spiderman's friends don't think he dresses up in a costume and fights crime all day," she finished with a laugh, looking over to Peter with a smile. She moved towards the dough then motioned for Peter to step beside her. "We're going to get the dough ready first. We use it for everything."

Ella nodded, "yeah, shopping and doing my nails that sorta thing. Well to be fair, I didn't think you'd like what was in the magazine and then you got all descriptive.. about certain things.." Ella put her sketch in her bag as she listened to Barry speak. Her eyes shot up when she heard him say something, "um.. why not? do I look like a guy or something?" she was almost offended by that statement. "No of course not, I'm just one of the guys I guess" she stared at her hands for a moment. "Did you need anything?" she said standing up, I probably have to go change into some scrubs or something since I'll be here all day.. not in this room. They've moved me to another patient.. so I better go" Ella grabbed her bag.

Peter shook his head, "no probably not, that's what secret identities are for, not that anyone would mock him for that" he laughed. Peter watched her as he moved the dough towards them, he never actually baked or anything he could see why people would mess up something so simple. "So... how do we get this dough ready?" it looked ready to him, of course Peter knew next to nothing about baking so he would just listen to instructions.

"Oh, no, I guess I'm good. Thanks though," Barry said, nodding as he watched her grab her things. She was all packed up in just moments, like she couldn't wait to get out of there. "I'll see you later then." He wondered if Iris was going to come visit him, because he really didn't want to be alone in a hospital bed all day.

Grace pulled a small piece of the dough from the pile and began smashing it against the counter with her hands. She looked over at Peter as she did so and smiled. "We have to knead it first to get it ready for baking." She continued pressing the dough against the counter while she waited for Peter to catch up.

[I noticed Iris was Barry's fiance in the comics, was that what you wanted her to be here or a girlfriend or just platonic?]

Ella sighed softly, and waved before walking out the door and walked to the locker rooms where she would change into her black scrubs. Pulling her hair into a bun before walking out, she probably wouldn't go into that room again. Once she was front Ella noticed a pretty girl talking to the nurse, she walked over and smiled politely, "here to see someone?" she nodded, "yeah, Barry Allen, he just woke up from his coma, I've been dying to see him but I've been so busy" she started rambling. Ella nodded, "relax, come on I'll show you to his room" she led her to Barry's room. She knocked once before entering, "hey, you've got a visitor, I'll just leave you two"

Peter looked over at Grace and grabbed a piece of dough and followed what she was doing, "I hope I'm doing this right" Peter had never actually baked or come to doing anything like this so it was weird. He looked over at Grace, "So you do this every morning then? Are they at least thankful that they have someone as talented as you in here?"

[Yup. She was/is. Hmm.. I'm still debating. I guess a girlfriend. Which is going to cause problems later lol.]

Barry was surprised to see Ella back at his door, but when she stepped back and revealed Iris, he knew why. He couldn't believe she was standing in front of him. To him, it felt like it had only been days since he'd last seen her, but to her it had been months. She had tears in her eyes that were quickly pouring down her face, and she ran into his room, quickly jumping on his bed and wrapping him into a tight hug. Her tears were all over his shoulder, and he chuckled softly while he wrapped his arms around her and pulled her closer to his chest. "It's so good to see you." He looked up once to the doorway and saw Ella standing there, and their eyes met before Iris started speaking.

"I can't believe you're awake," Iris said, crying more loudly. "They said you wouldn't wake up."

Grace chuckled as she watched Peter struggle with the dough. At the rate he was going, they'd never get done. "Here, let me show you," she said as she stepped right next to him so their shoulders bumped together. She reached her hands over and placed them on top of his, showing him the proper way to move his fingers. "Like that." She had been so focused on the baking that she hadn't realized she was actually touching him, and her cheeks grew red when she did. She hoped he wouldn't notice. "Every morning except Sundays and Mondays. We're closed those days."

Ella watched them hug, it was clear he did have someone special in his life, and why not? He was funny and sarcastic and sweet of course he had a girlfriend. Ella bit her lip watching the girl cry and hug her boyfriend, Ella looked at him who was currently watching her. Ella felt so awkward so she walked out and closed the door behind her, she had other things going on. She wasn't going to lie to herself, she was a little disappointed because she was just started to get to know him and she enjoyed the time she talked to Barry. Ella walked to the front to get her next assignment. She was just glad he was doing better, once she grabbed her paper work, Ella walked to the next patient. She would just have to move on and try to find someone else to have a crush on.

Peter smiled sheepishly as Grace helped him with the dough, Peter was not good at this at all. He's never tried baking and he the last time he cooked something he almost set the house on fire, his aunt forbid Peter from ever cooking again. He laughed at the thought, "okay" he smiled as he watched Grace place her hands on top of his. She had really soft hands he took noitced, he looked over at her and grinned. "at least you get two days off," he said with a smile on his face.

He turned his attention back to Iris as Ella walked out of the room. "Well, I'm awake now," Barry said, wrapping his arms more tightly around Iris. It felt so good to have her in his arms again. It made him feel like himself again.

"I'm so sorry I couldn't get here sooner," she said, the tears falling from her face a little more slowly now. "I had to take the train into the city and there wasn't a day I could get off work on time until now."

"It's okay," he said, running his fingers through her soft hair. "Wait, the train? Why'd you have to take the train?"

"Didn't they tell you?" Iris asked, before shaking her head and muttering softly. "Of course they didn't. We lost the lease on the apartment, Barry. I couldn't afford it by myself without you working, so we got kicked out. I had to move where the rent was cheaper."

No one had told Barry anything about him losing the home he'd shared with his girlfriend, but he supposed none of them knew or just thought it wasn't there business. He wondered if Ella knew, because it seemed like she knew a lot more than he did.

"That's true," Grace said, laughing softly. "With a job like yours, I'm sure you never get a day off. You go where Spiderman goes." Peter seemed like he had the hang of working with the dough, but Grace liked the feeling of his hands so much that she didn't want to pull away. She knew she had to, though, so she did it slowly. "There, now you've got it."

Ella sighed softly as she walked around the hospital pushing a cart of food handing trays of food to patients. She felt kind of weird it was weird why should she care about him, he was a complete stranger. She knew nothing about Barry and he knew nothing about her. Why should Ella have any feelings towards a stranger, a patient? She let out a sigh as she opened the door to Barry's room. She mentally kicked herself, why did she voulunteer for food. "Sorry for um interrupting I just came to drop off Barry's food and I'll be on my way"

Ella grabbed the tray and walked over setting it beside Barry and handing him some silverware and a straw, she walked over and grabbed a juice and placed it next to Barry''s tray. "Just give a buzz and someone will come pick it up" she informed him. Walking back out of his room, this was almost too much for her. Why should I care? I shouldn't. I don't. He's just some random guy that went through a horrible situation.

Peter smiled and looked at the dough in front of him, "yeah that's true" he chuckled. She had no idea how right she was. Peter smiled as he got a hang out of kneading the dough, maybe this wasn't as hard as he thought it would be, of course this was jut one of the first steps in baking. "Thanks, so what comes after this?" he asked smiling.

Barry was surprised again when Ella came in, but he was happy he'd get to introduce her to his girlfriend. He'd finally gotten Iris to stop crying a few minutes ago and have a normal conversation, so it was the perfect time, but Ella was in and out the door before Barry even had a chance to say hello to her.

He gave a soft sigh before he picked up his food and began eating, looking over to Iris. "Would you like some?" He asked, motioning towards the food in his lap. She shook her head no, and he was thankful because he needed all the food he could get.

"You're going to be making croissants," she said as she slapped down her pile of dough until it was flat. "So now you need to flatten it out and cut it into squares." She knew she could have basically everything else finished by the time Peter got his dough flattened and cut, which was probably a good thing since she didn't want to give him too much work to do. "If you need a rolling pin, I have one you can use, but I just use my hands."

Ella let out a sigh she shouldn't get too close to anyone around here she knew better. Last time she got close to someone she ended up getting hurt. She didn't need any more distractions, after going around delivering food to the patients Ella went to take her break. She sat in a chair and took a juice out of her bag and opened it, taking a sip.

Ella really liked Barry and she felt if she kept talking to him it would just make feelings stronger and she didn't want that. He had a girlfriend who was stunning and seemed nice, Ella never had a chance besides she was too busy to focus in anything else. Hopefully she wouldn't have to go back to that room.

Peter nodded, "okay.." Sounded simple enough he guessed. Peter listened and watched as Grave talked and showed him how to cut and fold the dough he smiled softly. He noticed how passionate about baking she was it was cute. "So what's your favorite thing to bake? I don't know if I asked or not" he chuckled as he continued to follow her instructions,

When Barry was finished eating, he was still incredibly hungry, which Iris apparently noticed. She always noticed that sort of thing. "Do you want more?" Iris asked, a small chuckle leaving her lips. She always made fun of him for the way he could put down so much food and still stay thin, and it seemed like it had only gotten worse since he'd woken up. "I can beep for the nurse again."

Barry smiled at her sweetly as he nodded his head. "That would be lovely, thank you," he said, and Iris quickly pressed the button to call for more food. Maybe it would be Ella that would deliver it and he'd have a chance to introduce her to Iris.

"I'd have to say it's those danishes you liked, but that could just be because I like to eat them afterwards." She laughed smiling over at Peter. She'd just finished up a few of her things and tossed them in the oven and he'd barely got to cutting the croissants yet. He looked so cute when he tried to do it though, with his tongue stuck out in concentration. Grace wondered how one person could possibly be as perfect as Peter seemed to be.

Ella was enjoying her snack while on her break when she was interrupted by her supervisor. "Seems like that Barry kid wants more food go deliver won't you?" She sighed softly and nodded getting up and putting her snack away. Ella dragged her feet to the cafeteria, she really didn't want to go in there again. She didn't want to meet his girlfriend and she didn't want to keep seeing Barry.

As she pulled another tray she grabbed everything she needed and headed towards the room. Opening the door she let outs soft sigh as she grabbed the tray that had already been finished and placed it in the cart. Then grabbed the new one and setting it next to him. "There you go" she grabbed some more utensils and handed them to Barry. She was about to leave when she heard Barry call out to her, she mentally sighed. Ella turned around, "did you need anything else?"

Peter let out a sigh when he noticed Grace had her pastries in the oven and he was yet to finish making 3 of his. "I am not good at this at all" he laughed as he continued to try. He did manage to fill the tray after awhile and sighed "that's not very good is it?" Peter was really slow but he took his time in doing these things. "I guess you and I know what I won't be. A baker" he chuckled shaking his head and dusting off some flour off his hands, "are they okay?" He asked about the pastries making sure he followed everything correctly.

"No, that's perfect, thank you," Barry said, smiling at Ella before he motioned towards Iris. "Ella, this is Iris, my girlfriend. Iris, this is Ella, the nurse that has been taking care of me. Well, she's a volunteer, but she's been doing a great job nonetheless.

Iris stood up and smiled at Ella, holding out her hand for her. "It's so nice to meet you. Thank you so much for taking such good care of Barry."

"No, it's fine, really. You're perfect." Grace blushed immediately after the words fell from her lips, shaking her head in embarrassment. "The croissants are perfect," she finished. "Now you just have to toss them in the oven and then we wait," she said as she pointed to the oven. All that was left was for things to get cooked and for her to get some coffee started. Honestly, she was sad they'd finished so early because she wasn't ready for Peter to leave.

Ella nodded and watched as he introduced her to his girlfriend why was he even doing this? Why did he care so much about what Ella thought? Ella shook the girl's hand so not to be rude "it's nice to meet you" Ella swallowed hard her throat was dry and it ached just a little bit. "Well I haven't done much really that's the nurses' job, I just watch and follow and do as I'm told" she just wanted to leave the room.

Ella stood there for a moment feeling a little awkward when the door open and in came a doctor smiling. "Oh I see you fed Barry already good, well, Ella it was such a pleasure having you here, you're free to go" he patted her back. "She's been so helpful, we've finally have all out staff back, maybe you can volunteer again next time we need help". He smiled. Ella nodded "yeah any time. I guess I should head home,"

Peters chuckled "I'm not perfect but thanks I'm more flawed than anyone believe me" Peter grabbed the croissants and tossed them in the oven, he smiled back at Grace. "Do you mind if I try one of my creations after they're done it do I have to leave?" He didn't really want to leave Peter enjoyed spending time with Grace. She was cute and funny and he just wanted to get to know her better.
