Make a Move

Kimi hummed to herself as she made her way toward the guild. She had been away for two weeks on an S-Class mission, for once opting to go by herself. Usually she'd go with Laxus and Raijinshū on a mission or even just with Laxus himself but for whatever reason she had chosen to solo it for this one.

She slowly made her way to the guild when she heard the commotion coming from with the guild hall. She sighed heavily, already getting annoyed. As she made her way in she could hear Natsu laughing loudly as he taunted Gray. Approaching them both she yelled out, "Oi, keep it down," before knocking them both across the guild hall as she passed them and toward the bar to talk to Mirajane, telling her white haired friend she had succeeded in her mission.

After giving her information to Mira she walked off to find Laxus, hoping he'd be milling around Magnolia somewhere. She was content that Natsu, Gray and the other members of the guild were behaving in fear of getting on Kimi's bad side so she managed to leave easily.

Gajeel had been watching Natsu and Gray fight for a little while now as he ate iron in content. He was glad to be off toward the side of the hall because he wasn't in the mood to be dragged into the fire dragon slayers antics. Alot had happened over the course of the month so he was glad to get some downtime.

Ever since he had chosen Panther Lily as his partner he had been in a fairly good mood, he had found his own Exceed who he could train with and he couldn't help but smirk. The last thing he wanted to do was be interrupted when he was eating so he kept his head low, minding his own business.

Gajeel wondered if he should go on a mission soon, he supposed he could use the money but he didn't really care for it, though it'd give him something to do, if not a mission than perhaps training would be the way to go.

Laxus ran a hand through his blonde hair. He looked around ignoring the people around him. He went into the forest for some peace. He liked it there because most anyone never came up towards him for anything. They rarely did that now, but sometimes kids liked to. He didn't understand why. He pulled his coat closer to himself. He looked around as he entered the woods. He gave a soft yawn. He didn't want to be in the loud guild all the time. He liked peace and quiet. He had gotten back from his own mission. He didn't treat it any differently than he would his other ones. He finished it quickly, told Mirajane and then went about his way. He wondered how Kimi did all of a sudden. He shrugged. Her magic was quite like Gildart's. He yawned again and then sat down by a tree, crossing his arms. He looked up at the sky.

Karasu was an S class as well. Her crystal magic was unique. More so than most magics. She was quite shy though. She kept her head down as she walked in. She had beautiful striking green eyes, and eye-catching white hair. She was quite small. She was about Levy's size. She was shorter than an inch. She sighed as she told Mirajane her mission. She went over to a table and sat down. She tried to ignore Gray and Natsu. They were about to get on her nerves though. Finally, she had had enough and got up. Natsu glanced over and quit. She glared at them and then walked out. She was really nice, until you irritated her. She left the guild. She sighed as she walked the streets of Magnolia. She didn't know what else to do. She sighed. She ran a hand through her hair.

Kimi followed her gut instinct and let it lead her to where she knew he'd be, lately he'd be in the forest, away from the townspeople and the gossip. Once she had reached the outskirts of Magnolia she stopped, taking in the view and letting the wind ruffle her silky long dark hair. She turned back in the direction of the forest, having to cross a field of flowers to get there. This field is where Kimi spent most of her times training, either by herself, with Laxus or with Erza. She neared the forest and spotted Laxus's blond hair, smiling she approached him.

"I'm back," Kimi stated softly, a small smile on her face as she took a seat next to Laxus, enjoying the quiet for a moment before speaking up, "how was your mission?" she asked him, turning to him to give her full attention.

Gajeel had long left the guild and was wondering around, he had decided to familiarise himself with the town, still not really sure where everything was. He had left Pather Lily at the guild, not wanting to interrupt the Exceed unnecessarily. "Man, this town is confusing," he grumbled as he glanced around. He continued walking, giving up on trying to memorize the town and walked around aimlessly.

He wasn't paying attention to where he was going when he knocked into someone, spotting white-hair and green eyes he grabbed onto Karasu before she went falling to the ground. He was a giant compared to her after all. "Sorry." he stated curtly.

Laxus watching the sky, not wanting to be disturbed at the moment. He was at peace for once, so he just stayed where he was. Laxus heard a voice. Opening his eyes, he looked up. He nodded seeing Kimi, and asked, "How was it?" He raised his eyebrow gently. He saw her small smile, and gave her his nod along with a gentle smile. He never smiled for anyone else, except for maybe the Master. He saved it most of the time, not really liking to smile for other people. What was the point of it? It was just a small motion anyways. He hummed hearing her question, and replied, "The usual. I like to be away longer, but I guess I can't help it." he told her. He nodded at her, turning his bright eyes to look and study her.

Karasu ran a gentle hand through her hair ignoring most of the people. She had a horrible headache. Most of the guild stayed clear of her, mainly because of her magic. Many found it terrifying and unmoral. She didn't get how it was unmoral. Scary she got, unmoral? She'd never get it. She sighed softly, popping her neck gently. She glanced around, her green eyes bright. She looked back down, just walking kicking pebbles as she went. She felt lonely most of the time. She gasped when she was knocked backwards a bit. She looked up her eyes wide with shock as the person caught her. She blinked looking up at him, and whispered, "Oh, It's okay." Karasu watched him and asked, "Aren't you Gajeel? I'm Karasu." She introduced herself for him.

"I demon was terrorizing a village, it was an easy mission, nothing I couldn't handle." Kimi smirked before a frown tugged her lips, "I had to take a detour to my home town though. I got a letter from my younger sister telling me my step-father had gone on a drunk rampage and put my mother in hospital, I went to take care of the matter." she added darkly. Kimi had left her home life at a young age because of her magic, Gildarts was her uncle and she had come to Fairy Tail to learn to control her magic. There she had meet Laxus and they had grown up together. She didn't often talk about her real family with anyone, not even Laxus, but she couldn't help but drop a comment about it this time.

Kimi sighed heavily and arched back, placing her head in Laxus' lap, "The S-Class exams are coming up in a couple of weeks, do you know if you'll be an examiner?" she asked, remember when they had to go through the exam themselves.

Gajeel blinked before nodding his head, he thought he was infamous around the guild, after al he had destroyed it and hurt Levy and her laggies. That had been dealt with now and even though he still felt a small amount of guilt he had moved on, hoping everyone else had as well. Gajeel realized he was still holding her and quickly let go, taking a step back he pretended to be busy watching the people around them mill around at the shops.

"You're the crystal mage right?" Gajeel finally asked, looking back at the petite girl, "how does your magic work exactly?" he asked curiously.

Laxus nodded listening to her closely. He noticed her frown, waiting for the information. He had heard bits and pieces about her old life, just being there and supportive for her. He noticed how her voice had dropped to a darkish type voice. He nodded gently, saying to her, "Well, it's good you took care of it." He didn't know any other way of how to help her. He smiled gently down at her. He didn't pry into her business, knowing that that might make her uncomfortable, also if she had wan'ted to talk about the matter to him before now she would've. He heard her sigh, before her head fell into his lap. He gave his own sigh, reaching down to play with her hair. "Yeah, Master wants me to." He frowned murmuring, "I don't get why, but yeah. I'm an examiner. You?" he asked curiously.

Karasu tried to know most of the people in the guild. She knew his magic too. She hadn't been there when the attack happened on the guild, she had been out on a mission. She noticed him realize he was still holding her, watching as he stepped back. She studied his figure, and also the way he looked around at other things besides herself. She realized he was avoiding looking at her, and knew the way he acted was because he was lonely. The same as her. She heard his question, nodding in response. She laughed at his question and said, "It's easier to show you." She stepped back a little bit, and then raised her hand a crystal flower appearing in her hand. She handed it to him. "Like that."

Kimi grinned at Laxus' answer, feeling him play with her hair soothed her, "He asked you because he knows you can judge someone without being bias towards them, you'll make a great examiner." Kimi knew Laxus would do well because he wouldn't go easy on them just because they were friends and because he was good at assessing people's strength and willpower. "Master wants me to as well, he told me he wants me to plan the exam with Mirajane." Kimi giggled "Only because he doesn't want to do it himself," she added as an after thought. "I'm glad it's still awhile away though," she stated, closing her eyes. Knowing the guild it won't be peaceful for long but Kimi enjoyed these small moments of downtime, especially with Laxus.

Gajeel watched her create a crystal flower, he kept his face blank but marvelled at it. He thought about what the other guild members had said about Karasu's magic and couldn't help but shake his head perplexed. "I don't understand why the others are scared to approach you, you're magic is pretty-" Gajeel hadn't been thinking about what he was saying and didn't catch himself in time, "pretty cool." he said, trying to save himself. He wondered why he was rambling, he wasn't generally like this.

Laxus groaned looking down at her, replying, "More like he just wants me involved more with the guild." He muttered. He sighed. He hated being like that to people, but he couldn't help it, never could. Even as a small kid, he was always hard on people. He felt bad about it half of the time, the other half he was sitting on his ass laughing. He smiled at the thought, his hands still messing with her soft hair. He chuckled hearing her words, "Give him a little peace, he's used to doing it. He's getting old as well." He grinned gently. He watched her close her eyes, smiling gently at her. He then asked her, "What are you thinking about Kim?" He asked shortening her name like usual. He turned his blue eyes up at the sky, closing his own after a moment, never stopping his fingers.

Karasu smiled gently, she was rather sweet, but no one ever approached her to get to see it. She watched as he shook his head, her smile faltering for a moment, before she listened to him. "Because they don't understand it." She said after a moment. She sighed softly before murmuring, "It's kind of an old magic I suppose, I've never met anyone else with the same magic as I have." She told him, explaining, "Also, I can make just about anything with it." She told him. She studied him again, laughing quietly to herself. He was awkward around other people. She smiled up at him gently.

Kimi scoffed playful, "Why do you always call me Kim, it's barely a nickname," she teased, rolling her eyes at him. "I was thinking about how nice it is when it's peaceful," she muttered, "but we should head back soon," she stated, slowly moving her head off of Laxus' lap and getting up, waiting for him to get up as well before they made their way back to the guild.

Gajeel nodded his head, "Your magic is different, but I don't find it immoral, how do people even think it's immoral, because it's a lost magic?" the more Gajeel thought about it the more it annoyed him, he didn't like judgemental people and preferred keeping to himself. He's had plenty of people judge him for looking scary and ruthless. "Every magic has it's limits though," he pondered a loud.

Laxus laughed softly, his laugh loud like his voice, saying, "Because i'm the only one who can call you it without you getting annoyed." He smiled softly. He noticed her eye rolling, smiling again. "It's never peaceful with Natsu and Gray around." He chuckled. He watched as she stood up, and sighed standing as well. He yawned feeling it start to get chilly. He saw Kimi with no sleeves, and removed his jacket and set it on her before heading towards the guild with her.

Karasu watched him. "It's not a lost magic per say, we just don't know. I've never heard of anyone with my magic type." She said sadly. She was hoping one day she might be able to meet someone with it, possibly learn from them what they knew. She studied him again smiling to herself. "I can make an exact replica of you." She responded. "I haven't found a limit to my magic quite yet. I'm sure I have one, but I simply haven't found it." She said.

Kimi felt Laxus place his jacket over her shoulders and thanked him. Once they arrived she could hear the whole guild fighting and once inside she could see it as well, the place was an utter mess and the Master was no where in sight. Glaring she marched over and whistled getting everyone's attention. "I'm giving you all three seconds to clean up this mess," she glowered darkly, the guild members all yelled "Yes Ma'am!" and ran around cleaning the guild as a group as Mira laughed at their behaviour.

When Kimi was done with growling off the members she went over to Mira and ordered a drink, sitting down as Happy floated over to give Kimi a hug. "Lucky you came back Kimi, they nearly totalled the guild," Happy said making Kimi shake her head, "Their a bunch of babies," she muttered, crinkling her nose.

Gajeel understood what Karasu was saying a nodded his head "You're an s-class wizard right? The other members have been working harder because of the approaching exam... how long have you been at Fairy Tail for?" he asked curiously, hoping he wasn't being nosy or annoying her. He didn't like to admit it but he enjoyed hearing the stories that the Fairy Tail guild members had to tell.

Laxus gave a gentle nod, following her to the guild. He walked in and sighed seeing the mess. Shaking his head, he went over an sat down near Mira, knowing that Kimi would sit beside him. He watched as she cleared out the mess, his arms almost always crossed over his chest. He yawned again, laughing at the way they scrambled to not make her even angrier. He chuckled softly, shaking his head. He ate some food, while watching the guild members clean it up. He watched as Happy came over, giving a smile at him. He yawned hearing Kimi. He laughed, before saying, "Oh, I remember when you were just like them." He grinned and said, "Shall I tell the story?" He asked her, having a spark in his blue eyes.

Karasu heard the question and nodded, "Yeah. They all work harder when the exam comes around. I don't understand why though," She shrugged as she paused, and then blinked at the question and went back to thinking and said, "Five years." She smiled softly at him and said, "Why?" She tilted her head, her eyes shining brightly as it soon got darker. She looked cute and rather small there.

Kimi groaned when Laxus mentioned how she use to be like them "You're going to tell anyway," she teased, rolling her eyes and stealing some food of his plate as Happy settled down to listen to Laxus and Mira laughed, remembering as well. Lucy had come over to sit next to Kimi and even though she wasn't going to say anything she knew that Lucy was interested to hear as well. Kimi also wanted to hear what Laxus had to say, he may have dirt on her but she had some good stories of him as well.

Gajeel nodded before saying "I was just wondering, it's interesting to hear other people's stories," he shrugged, "did you have to verse an s-class to pass?" he found himself finding a seat on a bench and motioned for her to sit down, he didn't know why but he found it easy to talk to Karasu, maybe because she was misjudged like he was.

Laxus grinned hearing the groan and said, "Oh yeah always starting fights with people especially Freed and Ever." He smirked down at her, laughing softly and said, "So, you remember that one time that Freed sent you flying into the wall? You basically caused the whole Guild to fall down that day." He said. "We had to work all week to get it repaired so that it was at least standing." He teased her. He then said, "You used to start fights with Erza too." He said. He had this spark in his eyes. "Granted you two were on even ground, even back then. She still gotcha a few times." He said smiling. They had all grown up together really.

Karasu nodded and sat down beside him, listening intently. She smiled again saying, "Well the what's your story?" She asked him, looking up at him smiling still. She shook her head and said, "I had a draw with an S class." She murmured running a hand through her hair gently. She stretched hearing her back and neck pop and watched him. "Glad to know I have a friend now." She said smiling.

Kimi shook her head, remembering that, she supposed she was a hypocrite but she couldn't help it, she had grown up over the past few years and new better now. "In my defence I fought with Freed and Ever over you," Kimi emphasized at Laxus, when they were younger Freed, Evergreen and Bixlow had taken a liking to Laxus, something they never got over and he kept going on mission with them. Kimi admitted she got jealous that he was putting all his attention on them and was always getting into fights with Freed and Evergreen, Bixlow was too scared to start fights with her.

"And me, Erza and Mira always had a rivalry, although" Kimi explained for Lucy, "don't forget I have dirt on you too though Laxxy," Kimi said in a sing song voice, using an old nickname that she only ever used when she was teasing him.

Gajeel whistled "Who did you fight against?" even though he couldn't see someone as petite and cute as Karasu doing that much damage he wasn't going to underestimate her, after all he knew first hand that looks can be deceiving. "I don't really have a story, I was raised by the Iron Dragon Metalicana, when he disappeared I wondered around for a long time searching for him. I was found by Phantom Lord and worked with them before landing here at Fairy Tail." Gajeel shrugged carelessly.

Laxus watched her with a chuckle, knowing full well why, and knew how he regretted never spending much time with her back then. He chuckled and said, "Well, then again, it wasn't only fault." He said. "Ever kind of never was nice to you. That kind of got on my nerves." He shrugged lightly, knowing he had, more than once, told Ever to back off of Kimi. He didn't like people picking on her. He popped his neck with a swift crack to each side. He heard her explaining it to Lucy, raising his hands up in defense. He made himself look innocence and said, "Who? Me? No!" He said innocently. He smiled though.

"Erza." She said lightly. She hummed lightly, bobbing her head to the tune in her head. She tilted her head as she listened, shutting her eyes so she could listen to his voice. It sounded nonchalant. She smiled, opening them and said, "You didn't like Phantom all that much, you miss Metalicana, although you'll never admit it, and you're happy to be in Fairy Tail, although you'll never admit any of that. What did I miss?" She asked him, smiling once again as she watched him her green eyes studying.

Kimi grinned at Laxus' reaction and sent him a mischievous look before turning to Lucy, they had managed to gain a small audience by now and she spoke up, "believe it or not but when we were little, Erza and I use to go to the flower fields and make flower crowns, Laxus would join us, he use to love having a flower crown made for him," Kimi giggled, picture Laxus wearing a girlie flower crown. Kimi thought about mention how they use to play happy families when they were little but decided she wanted to cherish that memory herself.

Gajeel's eyes widen and he shifts uncomfortably, wondering how she could have known that, "are you a mind reader or something?" he asked. He wasn't use to having someone read him like an opinion book and it startled him. This girl made him curious, he wasn't generally very interested in other people but Karasu was different, she was a mystery.

Laxus smiled softly remembering it, and said, "Well, every guy has to be nice." He said and smiled. He didn't seem the least bit fazed. It didn't bother him, he liked that memory of him. He heard Natsu laugh, raising an eyebrow he said, "What're you laughing at?" He asked him. He smirked and said, "Dragneel I've got dirt on you too, might want to shut up now." He grinned and then smirked softly. He leaned back in his chair and said, "Oh, and Kimi, remember that one time that you stole some of my clothes?" Yeah. I do." He grinned back at her and laughed. He heard someone walk in, and turned to look, his smile disappearing to see who it was.

Karasu smiled softly, blinking when he asked if she was a mind read. She giggled softly the sound melodic. "Nope, just know how to read people. You acted nonchalant which usually means something, also from what I've heard you were a bit of a pain in the ass when you were in Phantom and you were mean to just about everyone, and now you're a dear friend to Fairy Tail, and you also seem happy." She smiled widely, and then hummed. She watched him gently, knowing she kept a lot of things hidden, but that was for her own good.

Kimi blushed when Laxus mentioned the clothes, she was about to retort when she saw Laxus focus on the door as someone came in, when she saw him frown she knew it wasn't good and turned to look. She squinted, trying to see who it was that entered but not seeing clearly because of the light that filtered through the large doors. "What's going on?" she asked, unsure.

"So your powerful and observant, guess that makes you a great mage huh?" Gajeel stated thoughtfully. So she had fought Erza and tied, that was impressive especially because he had a feeling Erza doesn't hold back her power even if she's fighting her friends.
